"So, are you two dating?" Max asked awkwardly.
I was sitting with Helena next to me, and my best friend was across from me. The only thing separating us was the marble table they had in their living room.
My face burned, as I had to face the most embarrassing situation of my entire life. I just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible, but Max wasn't satisfied without at least a decent explanation.
"Yes," Helena said.
At least Helena took responsibility for handling that conversation. As for me, I stayed as quiet as possible. After what felt like a long torture, I finally escaped the situation; after all, I had to go to work.
Helena had to stay behind, though. I would have to take her on a great date later to make up for it. Anyway, I walked to the store. Helena's house was close by, that was I originally asked to stay with her.
