Moon Phase 10

Due to the tragedy at the arcade being confirmed to have students from three different schools, the school day had ended earlier than normal. Primrose was really confused. First Wellesley goes missing or is possibly a victim involved in a robbery at the arcade then Luciana stays home from school. Primrose mulled over her admittedly boring school day without her friend as she ate her lasagna.

While she's not one to point out suspicious coincidences or conspiracies she really felt something was amiss! Especially since she got kicked out of the conspiracy debate club because she only wanted to see the girls shutting down guys with actual valid arguments, instead of video games.

She hadn't had time to actually think about it but it was odd she felt the impulse to follow that boy with chains around him.

To her knowledge, Wellesley came to the arcade everyday. Maybe Wellesley got lucky and he left before the robbery happened.

But then that didn't explain -

"Primrose I have to talk to you about something important." Her mother said.

Her father excused himself and left no room for protests.

". .. uh Yes?" Primrose looked up as her mother placed what looked like a space themed jewelry box.

"I was supposed to give you this when you were old enough to know the truth about your adoption," She sighed and pushed the box to her.

"But it seems enough strange things are happening around you more than before. You weren't adopted from a normal orphanage. One day there was a meteor shower and when we came back from the viewing you were in a glowing basket on our doorstep. A girl a little older than you are now said that I was selected to look after you because of my prayers for a child after I was forced to have an abortion for health reasons, she returned to the moon in a flash of gentle sparkles and I have not seen her since," her mother told her.

Primrose stared blankly. "You're telling me this now? But what does -" she caught the silent warning and fell quiet. She opened the jewelry box and inside was a warm faintly glowing circle shaped brooch.

"You came with the brooch inside that jewelry box but you were an infant. I separated it from you not long afterwards because I worried you'd break it or try swallowing it and choking!" Her mother admitted.

"Being of supernatural origins there may come instances where you will need to defend yourself. But be wary of the Supernatural Investigators. They don't take kindly to rampant mythical beings. I told you this not so you would go galavanting into danger but so you'd understand that there is a reason everything happens," her mother said sternly.

Primrose stared at her. "But-"

"Promise me you won't use your abilities to get into trouble?" Her mother requested, her normal kind gaze taking a serious expression along with her voice.

Primrose blinked slowly, "yes mother,"

"Hey do me a favor and go in first," Lucifugus stopped by some trees. The bookshop was obvious from the title across the front "Blackwater Community Bookshop" and that it smelled like books even twenty feet away.

"Why?" Wellesley wanted to know.

"Because I need to know how many people are in there, it'll help me decide if it's worth putting up with the backlash," he responded.

"Like how many is too many for you?" He asked curiously.

Lucifugus tilted his head as if thinking it over.

"Three to four people in every aisle of books."

"Got it," Wellesley decided and went into the bookshop.

At the bookshop in the Blackwater Community, a curly light brown haired woman with a denim jacket over a lily print dress spoke to a volunteer. "Hey, can you tell me if you have these three books?"

She handed over a sheet of paper. The volunteer who had darker brown hair in three braids accepted the paper, looking at it with her half lidded purple eyes. Then her face lit up with recognition.

Wellesley tried to focus on his task but what was happening up front was more interesting.

The darker brown haired volunteer put her fork down. "Yes. They're over here. I'll go get them for you."

As she walked away, another bookshop worker noticed the lady still at the desk, sniffing the air. She looked around, clearly seeing the other worker staring at her, and proceeds to take a large bite of the volunteer's food.

She made a face indicating she didn't like it, and took a large container of something out of her purse and dumped it all over the food. She takes another bite, and looks satisfied then looks up to see the other worker approaching her.

"What do you think you're doing?" The worker demanded. Anger coating his tone of voice.

The brunette volunteer came back with the presumably requested books and immediately noticed the argument. Though what caught her attention first was the woman standing over her food fork in hand.

"Here's your...wait. Why are you eating my lunch?"

The lady 'defended herself'. "It was a free sample. And I must say, whoever made it is a terrible cook. It's very tasteless. I had to put my entire container of salt on this to make it edible!"

"Why do you randomly have salt in your bag? Impromptu exorcisms? You don't look like a priest!" The other worker raged.

The volunteer looked appalled "That was my lunch. I'm a diabetic, so of course it wouldn't taste very good!"

A teenage boy stepped in despite trying to focus on the manga he was 'reading'. He had glossy black hair and a tan, possibly Latino complexion and facial features. "Ma'am, you just ate her lunch. Why?"

"It was a free sample!" The woman insisted.

Wellesley walked back to the front and stepped in too, "Did you hear her verbally offer the food to you?"

"I believed she left it for me to taste!"

"But did she say you could have some?" The boy who was reading the manga demanded.

"She left it where anyone could get it! What was I supposed to think?"

"You were supposed to leave it alone!" The other worker protested.

As the boys were talking the volunteer scribbled something on a piece of paper and handed it to the other worker. She then mimed eating her food, standing so the woman can't easily see this and falls to the ground shaking and convulsing.

The woman looked panicked screaming "Oh shit!" running for the door to get out of the bookshop. The boys looked perplexed.

At that moment Lucifugus entered the shop curious what was taking so long.

The woman halted freezing completely.

"You! She shrieked.

"Me," he responded coldly. He looked at Wellesley and raised an eyebrow as if to say 'context please?'

"Listen I'm sorry!" The lady threw down some money on the table in the volunteer's direction and fleeing out the door.

When it was all over the volunteer got up, smirking "I learned how to do that to get my brothers in trouble."

Wellesley looked impressed

"but then how did you know to be so calm?" The boy still holding his manga asked the other worker.

The other worker showed the paper which read, 'Ignore what I'm about to do'.

I'm Gunther Parminder, the girl you just helped is my volunteer Calalily Noemia," she grimaced and thew the lunch away shaking her head even as her brown wolf ears appeared.

Wellesley grinned. "I'm Wellesley Guillotine,"

The Latino boy grinned back and held out his hand, offering it to shake. "Alejandro Dayanara,"

Wellesley shook it."Nice to meet you,"

Lucifugus looked at his phone. A frown graced his handsome features and Wellesley absently wondered what he was unhappy about.

"Looks like I'm leaving early, rescheduled doctor's appointment,"

"Huh but you literally just got here- it's not even that crowded" Wellesley protested.

"Just be sure to show up at the pavilion at the appropriate mealtimes," Lucifugus remarked as he left.

"No problem! I'll make sure he gets there!" Alejandro affirmed.

"Why are you here early?" Lucifugus asked now in his room. Dr. Sutcliffe was already waiting for him.

"The Lycan monarchy is coming a few hours earlier than anticipated so if I want to steer clear of the security guards and follow up paparazzi, this is best." Dr. Sutcliffe explained.

"The Lycan monarchy huh..." He trailed off.

"You know Macaulay Rasiel and his two children." Dr. Sutcliffe said. Though Lucifugus wasn't looking at him it wasn't hard to picture the admiration on his face.

'I know who they are', he thought bitterly. 'I have Rasiel to thank for my current experiences' he pulled off his shirt revealing the apple green shirt underneath.

Lucifugus stared at the opposite wall hiding his displeased facial expression.

'I wanted to be at the library....'
