Team work

He groaned, struggling to get up, but I could see that he was dazed. Razkath wasn't used to being knocked around like that. His tail twitched as he tried to push himself off the ground, the irritation clear in his narrowed eyes.

Despite my exhaustion, a sense of satisfaction bloomed in my chest. I'd finally gotten the upper hand, though it had taken nearly everything I had.

"You cheated!" Razkath spat, his voice dripping with indignation as he staggered to his feet, swaying slightly. His claws flexed, scraping against the dirt, and his scaly lips curled back to reveal his sharp teeth.

"There's no way a healer like you should be able to use that kind of magic in a fight! This isn't normal!"

I took a step back, my chest heaving as I caught my breath. His accusation hit me like a punch. Cheated? Was he serious?

I'd fought him fair and square, using every bit of my training and instinct to survive. I hadn't cheated I'd adapted.
