Letter

As I made my way toward the guild's heavy oak doors, my mind focused on the upcoming mission. I felt my shoulders tense with the anticipation of whatever lay ahead in that mysterious forest. But just as my hand reached the cold metal handle, Sylia's voice stopped me.

"Alyndra, wait," she called out, her tone softer than usual.

I turned to see her approaching me, a small letter in her hand. "This came for you earlier today," she said, her eyebrows slightly raised. "Thought you might want to look at it before heading out."

I frowned, confused. A letter? For me? I couldn't remember the last time anyone had sent me anything. Taking the envelope, I immediately noticed the familiar, old-fashioned handwriting. My heart stuttered as I stared at it.

The seal was simple but unmistakable this was from the orphanage where I had spent most of my childhood.

How had they found me?
