Thanks for sticking around

The forest at night was both eerily quiet and unsettlingly alive. Every creak of a branch or rustle in the undergrowth sent a shiver up my spine. My makeshift spear felt pitiful in my hands, but it was all I had.

Well, that and my little black fox companion, who trotted along at my side, his glowing black flames casting flickering shadows that only made the forest feel more otherworldly.

"Alright," I whispered to myself. "This can't be that hard. People hunt for food all the time. You just… find something small and not terrifying, and then you…" I hesitated, my stomach flipping at the thought of what came next.

"Ugh, why couldn't Thalindra have just left me with a bag of apples?"

The fox yipped softly, as if mocking my internal debate, and I glared at him. "You're not helping."

I moved cautiously through the undergrowth, scanning for anything edible or, at the very least, non-lethal.
