Kill him

Thalindra's grip on my arm remained firm as she led us through the crowded village streets. Her pace was brisk, her sharp eyes scanning every corner, every shadow, and every person. I struggled to keep up, my legs working overtime to match her strides.

"Slow down," I huffed, trying to catch my breath. "I'm not used to running from cryptic weirdos in masks, you know."

Her lips twitched in what might have been a smirk, but she didn't respond. Her silence was unnerving. Normally, she'd have some sarcastic remark or cutting reply, but now? Now she was all business.

Finally, she ducked into a narrow alleyway, pulling me with her. The noise of the market faded into the background, replaced by the muffled sound of our boots on the cobblestones.

"Alright, care to tell me what's going on now?" I demanded, yanking my arm free. "Who was that? Why are they calling me a murderer? And what does the guild want with me?"
