chapter 1

A crying child watched as his parents were mercilessly killed by soldiers. He didn't understand why the soldiers were killing them. After all, even though they were rebels, they never harmed anyone and lived peacefully in the forest. So, he couldn't fathom why the soldiers were killing them.

While he cried, someone suddenly pulled him away. When he looked at the person, he saw his father's aide carrying him and taking him away.

After a few minutes, they had moved far enough, and as the aide set him down, he immediately spoke to him.

"Cassian, run now; I'll hold off the soldiers chasing us."

Hearing this, Cassian tearfully tried to stop him, but the aide quickly spoke up.

"Cassian, you need to escape and live a normal life. Forget that these things ever happened."

After speaking, the aide handed him some money. He then quickly ran back, and due to his swift departure, Cassian couldn't stop him. Moments later, he heard gunfire and ran away, crying.

Hours later, he was far enough away and stopped to hide behind a large tree, crying uncontrollably to release his deep sadness.

As night fell and his crying ceased, he noticed a wild boar passing by. Realizing he needed to eat, he grabbed the pistol the aide had given him, aimed at the boar, and shot it dead. Approaching the boar, he used a knife to remove its entrails.

Knowing he needed food to survive in the forest, he then collected some wood, made a fire, and fashioned some sticks to skewer the boar's meat. After cooking it, he ate the meat despite its lack of flavor, enduring it because it was his only food. After eating, he rested.

While resting and staring at the sky, he noticed something strange. When he looked around, he was shocked to see that the trees he expected to see were gone, and he seemed to be in the sky. Panicking, he saw a creature approaching him. It had six eyes, a body covered in scales, and a long tail.

Stunned by the creature's appearance, Cassian fearfully said, "Don't come closer," and backed away. The creature smiled, revealing its sharp teeth, making Cassian even more afraid. The creature then spoke, "Calm down," and raised its right hand, which suddenly glowed. Cassian immediately woke up.

"It was a dream," he said, touching his forehead. After a few minutes, he stood up and noticed he felt incredibly strong. To his surprise, he found he could fly. Looking down, he screamed in shock because he was indeed flying. He lost his balance and fell, but noticed he felt no pain despite the hard landing.

Realizing he had fallen hard but without injury, he got up and tried flying again, eventually mastering the skill. He practiced flying for hours and was thrilled with his newfound ability. When he finished practicing, he rested.

The next morning, when he woke up, he stood up and tried flying again, successfully doing so. He flew off in search of a river to bathe in. After a few minutes, he found a clean river, landed, and looked around. As he approached the river, he was stunned to see his reflection.

His once black eyes were now golden, and his skin was smooth and white. He was amazed at how handsome he looked in the river. His previous appearance had been dark-skinned and pockmarked, so the transformation was startling. His body had developed muscles, and he had grown taller, resembling a 19-year-old even though he was only 15. Delighted by the changes, he smiled.
