Lost His Vision

X Vin stumbled out of the hospital, overwhelmed by the devastating news. He collapsed into his car, his body shaking uncontrollably. The loss of his parents, family, and X Agency was too much to bear.

Just then, his phone rang again, delivering another crushing blow. "Sir, all your properties have been reduced to ashes," the voice on the other end said, confirming X Vin's worst fears. His past misdeeds had finally caught up with him.

As he ended the call, notifications flooded his phone, revealing that his bank accounts had been hacked and drained. X Vin's world was crumbling around him. "Take everything!" he screamed, surrendering to despair.

In a reckless, frustrated state, X Vin drove to his house, only to find it reduced to smoldering ruins. The sight was too much to bear, and he laughed maniacally, feeling like he'd hit rock bottom. Seeking solace in the bottom of a bottle, X Vin drove to a bar, ready to drown his sorrows.

X Vin stumbled out of his vehicle and staggered towards the bar, his unsteady gait broadcasting his desperation. As he entered, a chill ran down the spines of the patrons, who swiftly scrambled to escape, abandoning their drinks and conversations. The air thickened with fear.

Undeterred by the commotion, X Vin marched up to the bar, his eyes blazing with anguish. "Give me your strongest wine," he growled, his voice low and dark. "All of it."

The bartender hesitated, terror visible on his face, before hastily complying. He handed X Vin an arsenal of top-shelf liquor and beat a hasty retreat, joining the fleeing crowd.

X Vin surveyed the now-deserted bar, a bitter laugh escaping his lips. He was alone, surrounded by empty stools and silenced music. With a snarl, he began downing bottle after bottle, determined to drown his sorrows.

X Vin stumbled out of the bar, inebriated and defeated, and collapsed into his car. With a reckless abandon, he sped off into the night, driving with a dangerous intensity, as if tempting fate. His world had been shattered, and he had nothing left to lose.

In his drunken haze, he ignored the road signs and speed limits, weaving through traffic with a suicidal disregard for safety. His car became a projectile, hurtling through the darkness, until suddenly, an oncoming vehicle appeared out of nowhere. The collision was inevitable, and the two cars crashed in a shower of sparks and twisted metal.

Two weeks after the devastating accident, the beeping of machines echoed through the hospital room, signaling X Vin's gradual return to consciousness. A nurse tended to him, and as his body stirred, she rushed out to summon the doctor.

"Sir, can you hear me?" the doctor asked, his voice gentle but firm.

X Vin's eyes fluttered open, but darkness greeted him. "I...I can't see," he whispered, his voice filled with confusion. "Where am I?"

The doctor's expression turned thoughtful. "You're in the hospital, X Vin. You were in a severe car accident."

Memories came flooding back, and X Vin's mind reeled in shock. He had expected to die, but somehow, he had survived. A bitter taste filled his mouth; he hadn't wanted to live.

"Why can't I see?" X Vin demanded, his voice shaking.

The doctor's hands moved deftly, examining his eyes. "We'll run some tests to determine the cause of your blindness."

X Vin's thoughts swirled. "How long have I been here?"

"Two weeks," the doctor replied.

X Vin's mind raced. Why had they saved him? Didn't they know his reputation? Didn't they know he was better off dead?

X Vin's curiosity got the better of him. "Why did you bother saving me?" he asked, his voice laced with self-loathing. "I am a bad man."

The doctor's response was cryptic. "Not everyone is like you, X Vin." The words hung in the air, leaving X Vin to ponder their meaning.

Later, after a nurse had assisted him with food, the doctor returned with the test results.

"Sir, I'm afraid the news isn't good," the doctor said, his tone somber. "The accident has left you with irreversible blindness. Your chances of regaining sight are less than 1%."

X Vin felt like he'd been punched in the gut. "What? No...this can't be," he whispered, reeling from the devastating diagnosis.

He thought of all he'd lost: his business, his reputation, his dignity...and now, his sight. The weight of his misfortunes crushed him.

The doctor continued, "Aside from your blindness, you're in excellent health, X Vin. We'll discharge you today, and arrange assistance since you've lost your sight. Your medical expenses have been covered, and considering your recent losses were publicized in the news, we'll ensure a smooth transition."

X Vin's curiosity got the better of him. "Who paid my medical bills?" he asked.

The doctor's expression turned guarded. "That information remains confidential, do you have anywhere you can go?"

X Vin's thoughts turned to his remaining assets. "I think my childhood home is all I have left," he said, anxiety creeping into his voice.

The doctor nodded. "One of our staff will take you there. Have a good day, sir."

For the first time in ages, X Vin uttered a genuine "thank you." He was stunned by the hospital's kindness, despite his notorious reputation. "So, everyone knows I'm now powerless," he whispered, recalling the doctor's mention of his tragic story spreading like wildfire in the news.

As he left the hospital, a staff member assisted X Vin into a car. As they drove off, X Vin asked, "Why is your hospital helping me? I don't deserve it."

The staff member's words were filled with compassion. "We believe everyone deserves a chance at redemption, no matter their past."

X Vin's heart swelled with emotion as memories of his parents' words flooded back. Tears streamed down his face as he reflected on his losses and the destructive path he had chosen.

"Maybe," he thought, "if I had changed earlier, none of this would have happened."

Upon arriving at the house, the staff member assisted X Vin out of the car and, fortunately, the house remained untouched. X Vin directed the worker to the key's location, and once retrieved, the staff member unlocked the door and helped X Vin inside.

The worker dusted off a couch and gently guided X Vin to sit down. "The house is quite dusty, but we'll send someone to help you shortly. For now, I must leave," the staff member said before exiting and locking the door behind him.

X Vin was left alone, surrounded by silence and darkness. He wondered, "Will I be trapped in this blindness forever?" The weight of his isolation crushed him.
