Chapter 24 : Knocked out a strong man

We are the champions my friends

And we'll keep on fighting till the end

  We are the champions

  We are the champions

  No time for losers

Before the game started, the organizers invited five local Miami bands to perform on the stage to warm up for the upcoming boxing match.

More than 10,000 audience members sang along enthusiastically, and the atmosphere was very lively.

After the last band sang "We are the champions", the competition began.

The finals competition is divided into two categories.

The first category is the qualifying competition. The top 20 boxers in each weight level are all there, and they compete against each other to see who has the highest ranking.

The qualifying round arrangement is relatively simple, with four divisions: east, west, south and north, and the first place in each division VS the second place in other divisions.

If the first place teams in each of the four divisions defeat the second place teams in other divisions, the four first place teams will compete against each other again.

If the first place team loses, the entire division will drop one place in the rankings.

The third, fourth and fifth place draws remain.

Link's first-round opponent is Mario Morales, a boxer from the Western Conference and Los Angeles area. Although he has the same name as Mario, his appearance, body shape, and temperament are different.

This Mario is a black man with dreadlocks. He has a very strong build, with very large muscles in his chest and arms, and a very thick waist.

He was the second place in this year's Golden Gloves Western Division, fourth place in last year's National Amateur Championship, and third place in the boxing event at the Pan American Games. He is 24 years old, weighs 77.8 kg, is 180 cm tall, and has an amateur record of 27 wins and 8 losses in 35 fights.

Mario Morales is a power boxer with powerful punches, a strong body and excellent ability to withstand blows.

With these two points, he made it through the tournament and reached the divisional finals.

His shortcomings are short arms, inflexible movements and slightly rough techniques.

It's not difficult to defeat him, but the difficult part is how to knock out a sturdy man while wearing cotton gloves?

"Hey, kid, I heard you want to KO all of us? That's ridiculous. I'm also good at KO. Let's see today who will KO who first?"

Morales clenched his fists and pounded his strong pectoral muscles hard, causing his chest to thump.

  Too strong!

Link felt a little headache, but he had already boasted, so now he could only do his best.

After the game started, he used his speed, which was much faster than his opponent, to hit his opponent's head with jabs continuously and quickly.

In the first round, he threw 75 punches, hitting his opponent's head 11 times, three straight punches, six jabs, and two swinging punches.

What surprised him was that Mario Morales took so many hits, but at the end of the first round, he was still standing firmly in the ring like an iron tower.

In the second round, he and Morales gave up on defense and attacked each other. The fight was very intense, and the cheers and shouts from the audience never stopped.

In the third round, he continued to attack Morales' head, throwing 45 punches and hitting him 6 times. Two of his heavy punches hit Morales' forehead in succession. Morales swayed a few times and held on to the ropes without falling down.

In the fourth round, Link threw 42 consecutive punches, hitting Morales in the head five times. Finally, in the fifth round, he knocked the opponent to the ground with a straight punch.

But Morales quickly got back to his feet, slapped his head, yelled at him, and began to fight back fiercely.

Link wiped the sweat off his chest muscles with his boxing gloves and sighed. Can I really knock out this muscular man with boxing gloves? I really know how to make things difficult for myself.

Although he was helpless, the audience was enjoying the show. It was so thrilling to see two muscular men on the stage, attacking each other fiercely, punching each other hard and sweating profusely.

When they fight, every time they hit each other, the audience will shout loudly, "Wow! My God!" The shouts are earth-shaking, even louder than when the Heat won the championship at home.

"Link is consuming too much energy fighting like this. There's another match in the afternoon. How can he hold on?"

  West said worriedly.

"Don't worry, West. Link is a great boxer. How could a great boxer lose?"

Mario leaned back in his chair, chewing gum and watching the game on the stage with a smile.

Although he and Link are from the same boxing gym, he really, really wants to see Link lose.

When Link loses the game, he will have the opportunity to tell him to his face that all his previous words were just bragging, and Link will no longer be able to glare at him with that hateful look.

"I also think Link won't lose. If he dares to fight like this, there must be some plan."

Reggie stared at the ring, his eyes full of admiration and excitement.

Mario rolled his eyes and muttered something like "brainless fan".

  "Link! Champion!!"

In the audience, James and his neighbors shouted loudly.

  "Link, we must win!"

Link's boxing fans are also cheering him on.

"Does he really want to win the championship trophy by knocking out all his opponents?"

In the audience, promoters such as Franco Duva and Greg Cohen looked at Link who was attacking hard on the stage with both admiration and doubt in their eyes.

If Link can really achieve this goal, it means that with his ability, he can not only win the championship trophy, but also get the trophy in an extremely difficult way, which also means that his strength is far beyond that of others of the same level.

If this is the case, the evaluation of him within the promotion company will be raised to a higher level, and the conditions offered to him will be more generous.

But first he has to complete this challenge that no one has yet accomplished.

  Bang!

In the fifth round, Link once again used a right hook to knock his opponent Mario Morales to the ground.

  "Asshole, you pissed me off."

Mario Morales jumped up, his eyes red, and punched him hard with his fists like a mad bison.

Morales's punches are very heavy, heavier than heavyweight Mario's, at least over 900 pounds. Link had taken a few punches from him before, and although he was protected by protective gear, it was still very painful when he was hit.

Seeing that Morales had lost his mind, Link didn't want to confront him head-on. He used his super fast reaction ability to crouch, tilt his head, and lean back, cleverly and narrowly avoiding Morales' attacks many times in a row.

  "Wow, Wonderful!"

"It's incredible, he managed to dodge them all."

  "Is he the Flash?"

The audience stared with wide eyes, watching him use the flash technique like the Flash to avoid Morales' punches again and again, and couldn't help but exclaim loudly and cheer for his wonderful performance.

"It was brilliant, it was a great fight."

"Link, you're the best boxer ever."

"Fuck Roy Jones Jr., I'm going to be Link's biggest boxing fan from now on."

Link's fans were shouting and jumping up and down excitedly, and a few female fans were so excited that they even took off their T-shirts and stood on their seats waving their hands vigorously.

"I'm going to kill you, Link!"

Morales roared, but it was useless. He was a power boxer, not a speed boxer. In Link's eyes, although his fists were powerful, they were very slow. Compared with the fish on the bottom of the sea, they were far inferior, so it was not difficult for him to hide.

Link once again lowered his head to avoid Morales' heavy punch, and then used the well-known back-throwing punch to hit Morales on the bridge of his nose.

Morales screamed in pain, fell on his back, and blood spurted out of his nose.

  Boom!

  The audience shouted excitedly again.

  "Link!!!"

  "You are the champion!"

Morales lay on the ground for more than three seconds before he staggered to his feet and rushed towards Link with a roar, as if he was going to kill him.

  Bang!

Link threw another cold punch, hitting Morales hard on the nose.

Morales was knocked down again, and blood was flowing from his nose to his chest, looking miserable.

The referee came up and asked him if he wanted to continue the game. Morales angrily said yes, but his coach threw out the white towel and asked to stop the game. He saw clearly from the sidelines that Morales was no match for Link at all.

Be it speed, technique, mentality, or his proud punch, none of them can compare to Link.

Being completely crushed by Link, there is no point in continuing to fight. It is better to end the game early and save energy for the ranking match.

"The winner of this game is Link Baker!"

Link's fist was raised again by the referee.

  "Link! Link! Champion!"

Tens of thousands of Miami audiences in the auditorium shouted, applauded and cheered, and the scene was spectacular and warm.

Link raised his red boxing gloves and swung them vigorously. Although it was a TKO (technical knockout), it was still a KO.

"He did it! He did it!"

Franco Duva looked at Link in the ring and patted the guardrail excitedly.

He and Link had a long talk on the train a few days ago. Link said that he wanted to unify the gold belts of the four major organizations in five levels, and that he wanted to change the current boxing world and bring about tremendous changes in the North American boxing world.

If ordinary people heard such words, they would definitely think he was crazy.

But if this person is extremely powerful, then we must treat him with caution.

Today Link said he wanted to win the game by KOing his opponent, and now he has done it.

He is not only a very ambitious person, but also a person who has the ability to realize his ambitions. Such people are very rare.

Franco Duva glanced at his competitors not far away, took out his cell phone and called the person he didn't want to disturb, his father, Old Duva.

Old Duva is the founder of the Main Event Company and the actual controller of the company.

Since it involved a USD $100 million transaction and the company's future development, he had to disturb old Duva and ask for his consent.
