Mei's apartment was indeed close, and Kaito dropped her off first. As she exited the car, she said, "See you, Kaito."
Taro chimed in, "Bye, bestie!"
Kaito's glare could have frozen water. "I thought you just transferred here, but you're already Mei's bestie?"
Taro's smile was innocence personified. "Huh, I get that look. Let's go have some fun!"
He continued, "Yes, I transferred today, but talking with Mei made me feel very friendly, so I decided to be her bestie."
His smile grew wider, like a mischievous .
Finally, they reached Taro's house. Kaito announced, "Ok, Taro, your house is here."
Taro thanked him, his tone dripping with sincerity. "Thank you, Kaito oppa. Mei's friend is my friend. You're so sweet."
He got out of the car, chuckling to himself, leaving Kaito seething with frustration.
As I stepped into my cozy apartment, I couldn't shake off the irritating encounter with Taro. I quickly changed out of my school uniform, shedding the confines of the day. A refreshing shower helped calm my frazzled nerves.
Wrapping myself in a comfortable towel, I padded into the kitchen to start dinner. The rhythmic chop-chop-chop of the knife on the cutting board was therapeutic as I prepared the veggies for my favorite veg spaghetti.
But my mind refused to let go of Taro's hostile words. "Who does he think he is?" I muttered to myself, slicing through the cabbage with a bit too much force.
"I'll make your life hell?" I scoffed, carrots flying under the knife. "Awwwww, jerk! Stupid bastard!"
My anger boiled over, and I slammed the knife down on the counter. "You wait and watch, Taro! I'll show you who I am!"
The kitchen fell silent, except for the soft sizzle of vegetables in the pan. My chest heaved as I struggled to calm down.
Just as I began to stir the spaghetti, my phone buzzed on the counter.
I picked up the phone, surprised by the sudden ringing. I wasn't expecting any calls.
"Hello?" I answered cautiously.
"hello my darling, Mei!" a familiar voice said on the other end.
It was my dad.
"Dad! I wasn't expecting your call," I said, smiling.
"Hey, sweetie! Just checking in. How was your day?" Dad asked, his voice warm and comforting.
"Hey, Appa, how was your day?" I asked, curiosity getting the better of me.
"Busy as usual," Dad replied with a chuckle. "But I managed to wrap up a big project, so that's a relief."
"Glad to hear that!" I said, genuinely happy for him.
"How about you, Mei? How was school?" Dad asked, shifting the focus.
"It was okay, I guess. Just the usual drama," I said, rolling my eyes.
"Anything exciting happen?" Dad probed.
"Well, there's a new transfer student, Taro. He's...interesting," I said, choosing my words carefully.
"Interesting, huh?" Dad repeated. "What's he like?"
"I'm not really sure yet, he's kind of ... hostile,"i admitted .
"Kaito, eh? Still being a good friend?" Dad asked.
"Yeah, Appa, he is," I reassured.
We chatted for a few more minutes, catching up on each other's lives.
As we wrapped up the conversation, Dad said, "Mei, don't forget about your mom's birthday dinner this weekend."
"I won't, Appa," I promised.
After hanging up, I felt a warmth in my heart. Talking to Dad always made me feel better.
I finished cooking my veg spaghetti and sat down to enjoy dinner. The flavors danced on my tongue, satisfying my hunger.
After dinner, I cleared the table and began my homework. after studying other subjects i decided to do maths because I'm only weak in math. Math problems awaited.
I opened my textbook and started working on problem set 5. Questions 1-6 were manageable, but question 7 stumped me:
"Solve for x: 2x + 5 = 11 - 3x"
I furrowed my brow, concentrating.
As I worked, my phone remained silent, and my mind stayed focused on math.
I let out a frustrated sigh, rubbing my temples. "Why math, why?"
I stared at the equation, feeling overwhelmed. Usually, I excelled in school, but math consistently tripped me up.
"I wish someone could explain it in a way that makes sense," I muttered to myself.
Tomorrow, I'd visit Mrs. Tanaka, my math teacher, for extra help. Maybe one-on-one guidance would clarify these confusing concepts.
I gathered my books and notes, deciding to head to the library for some quiet study time.
As I packed my backpack, determination kicked in. "I'll master math, no matter what."
In the library, I settled at a cozy table near the window. Soft sunlight illuminated my textbooks as I dived into reviews.
