Heaven can not be defied.
Great Dao can not be defied.
Truth can not be defied.
Providence can not be defied.
Fate can not be defied.
Ants will always be ants.
"What a load of crap!!!"
Shang Futian roared as he snapped out of his stupor. Ignoring the injuries on his body, he turned around with a pained look to gaze beyond the borders of space, beyond this strange dimension, beyond the void at what was once a vibrant world. There, in his vision, appeared a fisherman and his follower excitedly pulling at a fish pole at the prospect of a big catch.
The follower said "Congratulations sir today we caught a big one."
The old fisherman twisted his face and retorted, "We? What do you mean we? You little scoundrel, this is my catch. You had best put in your all otherwise humph!"
The young follower seemed to have expected the old fisherman's response and just laughed it off.
As Shang Futian eyes shifted to another part of the world, he could see some rowdy men voicing loudly at two drunkards who were fighting each other. Another drunkard shouted with an intoxicated look on his face, "Yeah!"
"Don't you dare lose to Old Chen,"
"I just bet my house, if you dare lose, we're going to have a problem on our hands!"
"Crush his skull!"
"Beat him to death!" another said loudly.
Daoist Futian's weary eyes shifted once more to a remote area of this world. What appeared was a man who looked to be in his mid-twenties kneeling in front of a woman who looked be in her late-twenties.
"Honey, I can hear Xun'er, Lan'er, Ruo'er and Xiao'er kicking," the man said with his head leaning on the woman's stomach.
The woman who was once smiling at the man couldn't help but be perplexed at how fast his husband's mind seemed to be working. It didn't seem like his mind operated at the same level as other people's. At least that's how it appeared to the woman as she suddenly recalled her first encounter with her husband and how presumptuous he was as he walked up to her just to say "hello there, you must be Yan'er", the man said as he didn't even bother to pay attention at the confusion on the woman's face when she turned.
"As expected, you're quite the beauty, I am Gu Shaoqian, the most handsome man to appear in existence and your future husband."
The expression on the woman's expression changed once more after hearing this. After a brief moment of being stunned before she could even respond, the man started talking once more.
"It's okay. You don't have to be so surprised; your husband's appearance shocks even gods and goddesses. So, this is to be expected", The man said as his lifted his head seemingly looking majestic as he thought to himself "this Yan'er is quite fortunate to have me as his fated one."
As she was about to respond once more, the man quickly took hold of her hand and dragged her with him along the path they were on. Of course, the ramblings of the man did not stop, not even once.
As her recollection ended there, Yan Shaoqian looked at her husband kneeling in front of her with a piercing look as her eyes narrowed. Gu Shaoqian felt her gaze and his body immediately stiffened as he turned his head upward to see her wife's expression, which seemed as if she was about to erupt as he thought to himself, "Ahh, here we go again."
As soon as that thought ended the woman began as she reached out to pull her husband's ear "You're always so relaxed why don't you just try to…you never stop with these ridiculous ideas…how do you even know I'm carrying quintuplets and when did you name our children…"
The husband gave a sly smile as he thought to himself, "weren't you the one who said that I should be more thoughtful about the future", of course he didn't dare to voice this thought otherwise he would never hear the end of it. Like a chilli pepper, it seemed like the wife was never ever going to stop with her nagging.
Daoist Futian's gaze shifted once more, as if peeling off the multiple realities and cross-sections of space all the way into the realm of uncertainties, what appeared in his sight was a magnificent giant tree that seemed to be supporting the boundless heavens and many different worlds. The illuminating light the tree gave off seemed to breathe in life into the multiple worlds it held. Of course, he couldn't see the giant tree in its entirety, he knew this was a giant tree according to the ancient texts left behind by his ancestors but with his level of cultivation all he could see was only equivalent to a vein of the giant tree's leaf.
However, that once majestic tree was giving off a faint light and seemed to be dead. If one were to take a look from a much wider view, they would see a jet-black aura in the form of a dagger that seemed to have been impaled into the giant tree.
As if he could see all this, the sadness in his heart overflowed, as he muttered with a low voice, "This isn't how it's supposed to be…"
The pain that ran amok in his body seemed to have been numbed by an unknown force. Of course, all this was but an illusion. The pain was evidently still there as his legs seemed to be struggling to support his body, and his his injuries weren't healing. He knelt on the ground and muttered once more, "Senior, if only…"
However, he did not finish this thought as a loud thud rang out from the void storm beside him as something came crashing from the sky. Looking over, he could see the figure of a woman and a man shrouded in the storm. They seemed to be covered with injuries and their clothes stained with blood. It didn't take long for their injuries to heal as if they were never wounded before.
As the space settled, he could finally see it was a man surrounded by evil qi, who looked to be in his late forties, but those who knew him well understood that this was but an appearance. He was actually an old monster who had cultivated the path for at least a hundred billion years, the one who was known to have once ruled over the Demonic Abyss World.
As the ancestor of the demon heaven, he was exceptionally gifted with the demon race's ocular ability, which could pierce through absolute truths. Although Daoist Futian tried to hide his mental state, the Demon Emperor simply stood up staring at Shang Futian with his crimson eyes seemingly understanding Futian's mental turbulence and heaved a sigh.
His face seemed to have aged further as he looked at the woman beside him, who at some unknown point was already staring at him. It seemed as if both of them had come to an agreement in that moment.
The Demon Sovereign turned to look at Daoist Futian and with an archaic voice which seemed to have come from the depts of hell and brought terror to anyone who heard it, he said "Child, the path of cultivation is filled with uncertainty and we as the elder generation have failed to protect this heaven." Another sigh came out as he finished saying this.
Daoist Futian couldn't help but feel a heavy weight pressing on him as he heard these words. He immediately clasped his hands with respect toward them, saying, "Seniors need not take the blame for the junior's incompetence and had it not been for junior brother's betrayal the heavens would be peaceful"
Hearing this the Demon Emperor wanted to say something but the woman beside his stopped him she said, "Daoist Futian, you're the most talented junior this Empress has seen in the past millennia and the pride of…"
However, it was at this moment that she suddenly stopped talking and turned to look at a farther part of the void storms from which they had been flung from. Daoist Futian and the Demon Emperor followed her gaze to the void storms.
There appeared three figures, one man and two women floating in the void. One woman was wearing a black dress which covered to her ankles and seemed to have the same appearance as the Empress beside the Demon Emperor whilst the other woman gave off an intense evil qi which seemed more fiendish than the Demon Emperor's which made her look like the empress of all devils.
The Demon Emperor and the Immortal Empress ignored the two women and instead eyed the middle-aged man standing in the middle with venomous hatred and murderous intent flashing in their eyes.
However, Daoist Futian glued his eyes on the female devil instead. The demoness wasn't wearing anything in particular as her voluptuous figure was apparent for all who had the gift of sight. She used her evil qi to materialize a piece of black aura that only covered her chest and the parts below her waist.
As if sensing his gaze, she looked back at him and smiled at him, waving her hips flirtatiously. If other men were to see this scene, they'd probably go crazy drooling at this sight, after all her figure and beauty was one which could cause the downfall of empires and nations but Daoist Futian seemed to not be affected by all this.
After all, to him, she was an evil vixen. His gaze didn't linger longer on the demoness but instead turned to look at his once junior brother Shang Jingnan standing in front of the two women. As if the demoness's self-esteem had been hurt by this, she gave a scowl back at him, but Daoist Futian simply ignored her.
As if expecting his gaze, Daoist Jingnan looked at his senior brother with a complex look. It wasn't as if he actually still held his senior brother in his heart. There seemed to be flame burning in his heart more vigorously than ever giving him a more plausible reason that everything he was doing was right.
What filled his heart now was greed and ambition. This was the iron rule of the cultivation world. The winner is King, and the process was irrelevant.
In an instant, the complexed look on his face vanished as if it was never there to begin with replaced cold indifference that could freeze anyone down to their bones. Seeing this change, the three people being glowered at couldn't help but clench their fists.
