Expert Hunter

His first thought was that perhaps he should act like he did not notice anything and allow Bai Ming's members up ahead to deal with it, but he then rejected this idea as he realized two problems here. His head was constantly aching, and without Chi Huo's help, he didn't know what other hidden dangers this wound would bring him, but it was best to be careful.

It would do no good if this healer ended up dying as a result. Chi Huo dying meant they, too, would soon follow in his steps. Zi Yan was clearly not willing to allow this to happen.

Having sorted out his thoughts, he immediately alerted everyone of the abnormality in the surrounding snow.

For the first time, Chi Huo's face showed annoyance. Even Cui Rong couldn't help but feel the same.

Just how long had Zi Yan and his troupe joined their group?

Not even twenty minutes had passed. For accuracy's sake, perhaps only ten minutes had passed, but this guy was already telling them there was something suspicious in the snow ahead. The others in Bai Ming's group did not truly believe this, but Wu Zhengyi, who had been talking to the Han Ding and Zou Qiang, looked to them, only to see strong looks of confidence.

They did not doubt Zi Yan's words in the slightest. Other hunters may have ridiculed him as the self-proclaimed expert, but they knew better. In their eyes, whether they accepted him or not did not matter. Since Zi Yan had said so, then it was definitely true. However, they could not stand actively because of their injuries.

Bai Ming and the rest also noticed their confidence. Li Tian's couldn't help but twitch a bit.

These two fellas were actually trying to get into a readied combat stance but couldn't because of their injuries. In the eyes of the rest of the group, this was perfectly fine, but to Li Tian, it just seemed comical.

Did they suddenly remember they were in bad shape?

Weren't they happily chatting with Wu Zhengyi a while ago. Back then, he been wondering if this is truly the appearance of an injured person, but he held those thoughts at bay but now saw them like this. He could not help but think of this again.

As his thoughts went on, Zi Yan had already taken a step forward with a weapon in hand. He passed by Cui Rong and went just a bit ahead of the group.

Cui Rong couldn't help but mock him in her mind, "Oh Zi Yan, are you that eager to be useful to us already?"

She had originally just allowed him to join their group because she felt that it would be better. An enemy you can see can be easily resolved, but what about an enemy in the dark. She did not even want to imagine it.

A scenario where they were in the light but the enemy was hidden was not favourable in the least. Given their current situation where their bodies were slowly wasting away, would they be able to come up with a counter measure in a timely manner? The answer was obvious, but now she was now feeling that perhaps she had overestimated this Zi Yan and mistakenly thought of him as a fierce beast when he was but a rabbit.

Everyone had different thoughts of their own, some mocking some interested.

However, these thoughts ended when I saw Zi Yan swing heavily in front of him in an anticlockwise manner.

Whoosh!

The snow gathered in front of him was pushed away, and everyone behind couldn't help but widen their eyes.

Right under the snow were four pairs of eyes staring at them with clear malice. After the snow covering them was blown away, one of them pounced to this person who had thwarted their trap. In their eyes, he was the most detestable, and the rest could be dealt with at any other moment.

The beast was fast, but so was Zi Yan. His horned skill in hunting finally showed. Just when the beast came near him, Zi Yan sent a heavy kick, which sent the beast in the air for a short moment. When the beast regained its footing, ready to charge again at this person, Zi Yan had already pulled back his weapon and swung directly at the beast's neck. It could not even react. In a moment, the snow was dyed red. The beast's separated head landed right in front of Zi Yan's foot.

The other beasts did not seem to have brains that could register what had just happened. In no time, they also pounced at Zi Yan, but even with their numbers, they could not be his opponent.

With loud howl filled with unwillingness, the last beast fell. The howl echoed far and wide in this strange land where no life was allowed to linger. It only took a minute, and Zi Yan had made quick work of these little beasts.

The rest looked on with looks of shock and a bit of shame. In that scuffle, they did not even manage to ready themselves or even take out just their weapons. It had happened too fast.

So, this is what a true hunter looks like.

Bai Ming was not such a hateful person who couldn't distinguish her fine skill when he saw it. He truly felt that this Zi Yan was truly an exceptional hunter, and the fact that he had chosen to align himself with them now did not truly matter. As for his reasons for doing so, in his eyes, they were no longer relevant. As long as it did not bring harm to the group or directly endanger their lives, this Zi Yan could be welcomed, and his skills would surely benefit them.

After finishing off the last beast, Zi Yan looked back at them with a cold look, but inwardly, he was quite pleased with himself.

This was the moment he had been waiting for.

An opportunity fell from the sky, which he could take advantage of and show his worth to the group. And now their doubts would be reduced. He needed a thought that would dispel the group's doubts.

Looking at their stunned faces, it seemed he had done more than that. As long as there was a thought that reassured them that his presence would increase the group's safety, then all would be well.

"Well let's cont…"

However, his act did not play out well as he heard a sound coming from the distant hills, which seemed as if there was an avalanche.
