Seeing how the situation was slowly unfurling before him, Viv felt his eyebrows twitch in exasperation.
This kid is 13 years old, and he talks like an experienced politician.
"...Then I will have no choice but to humbly accept."
Sighing, Vivillain extended a polite bow before looking away, not wanting to look directly at the sneaky brat.
His goal was me from the start, at least the reason for our coming meeting is a reward instead of a punishment.
Cutting his losses early was the most reasonable option to do. Though it would be great if he didn't have a reason to meet with the Crown Prince at all, he'd rather take the option of being known as being compensated by him rather than the Prince making an excuse that would draw even more attention.
"Splendid. I'll be honored to be in the presence of the number one scorer of Einsvul freshman after all." William grinned. "I will send you a letter of the meeting place and time that works for both our schedules."
As he said this, William checked out his book and left, with a blue haired boy following behind discreetly.
"..." Since when was Perukono there too? Viv didn't even detect or notice his presence.
After the commotion had died down, the students reluctantly went back to reading or studying, and Vivillian felt a headache brewing as he sighed.
Putting down his book, Viv decided he couldn't read another with that Crown Prince weighing on his mind.
Instead, Viv decided to focus matters on different things, like scavenging for old bookmarks to redeem for library points.
...
"Ah, you're back early." Elva looked surprised as he walked out the room's bathroom, a towel draped around his still wet hair. "It's been a bit since we've seen each other."
"..It has." Viv curtly responded, before going about his business. It seems in the past month, Evan's physical state had been improving with his constant daily trainings.
Heading to the bathroom, Viv closed the door behind him as he slowly stripped off the long, black robes which were the customary uniforms any student studying magic would wear.
The knights that trained in the school, or the students focusing on physical development like Elva were given simple white uniforms that most often turned off color after many washes and uses.
Other parts of the school that studied other things like Alchemy and Economics wore green and red robes or modified versions of them.
As Viv drenched himself in the hot water, his mind began to wander to various situations that may happen in the future.
I should write all of this down, my memory isn't getting better by the day.
But he couldn't write this down in any journal, he had to find a secure, magic protected item.
After getting out of the shower, Vivillian rubbed his face and hair, trying to dry it at least somewhat.
Suddenly, a knock was heard at the door, as Viv frowned and walked towards the door, opening it up, wondering who it could be.
"Sorry to disturb you at such an hour, but I was instructed to deliver this letter to you."
Perukono said, as he bowed after seeing Viv. He neatly held out a sealed enveloped with the imperial crest on it, with neat letters addressing to who it was for.
"I see." Uncomfortable and slightly caught off guard, Vivillian took the letter quickly. "Goodbye."
Shutting the door before Perukono could even respond, Viv felt slightly regretful that he had treated him a bit harshly because of the fact Perukono had helped him before.
However, it was only a mild regret, and he had to keep his guard up with anyone associated closely with William.
"Was someone at the door?" Elva interrupted Viv's thoughts, raising his eyebrows as he saw Viv still quite wet hair.
"Just someone I knew." Sighing, Viv held the letter in his hands carelessly, before sitting down on one of the couches to relax.
"You should dry your hair, you'll catch a cold."
"What are you, my mom?" Viv frowned.
"I'm just stating what I learnt in my department about taking care of your body." Elva rolled his eyes, as stared at the dripping mess. "You're getting water all over the nice couch cushions."
"Only a little."
"You..."
Seeing out Viv had no intention of drying his soaking hair, Elva went into the bathroom, eyes filled with determination, before coming out with a towel.
"...What are you-?!"
"Stay still." Putting no regard to Vivillian's protest, the towel was abruptly thrust forward and into his hair, rubbing it roughly.
"A-Agh? Hey, cut it out..!" Wanting to struggle, but finding his physical strength insubstantial, Viv used his hand to push against the couch to escape, but by the time he did, his hair was already significantly drier than before.
"..It was for the couch cushions."
Elva said simply, seeing Viv's bewildered and angry expression.
"Then just say that from the start. You don't have to do that weird stuff." Retorting, Viv awkwardly turned away, as the previously soaked cat ears slowly sprung up into action.
Seeing the sight before him, Elva's mouth couldn't help but curl.
While in the meantime, Viv made his way back to his room indignantly, and tore open the letter to no regard to the fancy rare wax seal on it.
"I don't get his problem..." Muttering to himself, Viv thought of Elva, the image of him turning g from an annoying bug to an even more annoying bug. However, he quickly began refocusing his attention on the letter.
Dear Vivillian Ambrosia,
I hope you had a pleasant rest of your day after our little meeting, I would comment more on it but I feel you have no interest in such pleasantries.
As such, I am free in 2 days at 4:30pm, so please make note of it. For personal reasons, I hope you can find your way to my dorm quarters to serve as a meeting place between just the two of us. My knight Perukono will lead you up a few minutes before the meeting time, so please be ready.
Note: I already checked your schedule, I apologize for looking at it but I was able to find a suitable time where we were both free.
Yours Sincerely, William Luven Slachal, the Crown Prince of the Slachal Empire.
This son of a...
Holding back the urge to curse at a teenager, Vivillian swallowed it back down as he reread the letter.
"..." He should probably put the letter down or else he would have a brain aneurysm.
That brat just wanted to find an excuse to get his schedule and tick him off for attempting to be smart with him this afternoon.
Throwing the letter off to the side, Vivillian shut off his lamp and put on his covers, sleeping peacefully under the moonlight.
First order of business is getting a magic item...
However, what Vivillian didn't expect were the sheer amount of rumors that greeted him the next day.
