Chapter 3

"Andre, are you alright?"

Sasha rushed towards Andre, disoriented, on the ground. Seeing Sasha and Andre, Stevan helped Andre. Sasha grunted in pain as they lifted Andre up.

"Easy there, Sasha. I can assist Andre by myself." Stevan suggested.

"No, I will help!" Sasha insisted.

The SynthMech turned the tide of the battle for the platoon. The enemies, seeing the sight of constructs made of flesh and steel, feared them. Their morale had wavered.

Two bio terror weapons rushed towards an SynthMech. The model Type 03 Shenlong was their target. Attempting to maul the SynthMech, the bio terror weapon's attacks proved ineffective. One of the bio terror weapons used every ounce of its strength, delivering a blow that staggered the SynthMech.

Despite the serious blow that caused a dent in the chest armor of the SynthMech. The chest armor only suffered a scratch, whereas the bio terror weapon completely crushed the bones in it's own arm. The bio terror weapon retreated while the other one rushed in.

The bio terror weapon threw a huge rock towards the SynthMech Shenlong, trying to distract it. The rock landed on the SynthMech's right hand, protected by its gauntlets. Splintering the rock from the force it was thrown, the Shenlong unleashed a powerful attack. A powerful punch, crushing the reinforced skull of the bio terror weapon.

The bio terror weapon, without its head, fell to the ground in an instant. Despite the SynthMech equipped with a massive shot gun. It preferred close combat to deal with the enemy. The bio terror weapon, which the force of its attack crushed its hand earlier again, rushed in.

It furiously attacked the SynthMech, using all of its strength and speed. Thinking that the head may be a weak spot, the bio terror weapon aimed to hit the head of the Shenlong, which dodged the attacks skillfully.

In observing the fight, Stevan and Sasha were in awe. Reducing such terrors in battlefield like they were playthings. It was as if the parity was in favor of the SynthMech.

Andre, who was impressed, didn't dare to blink. Seeing how the bio terror weapons bullied him earlier was made like rag dolls. He wished that it was him inside the SynthMech teaching the enemy a lesson.

As the fight continued, the SynthMech pilot inside the Type 03 Shenlong decided to end it. A swift attack, piercing the bio terror weapon's heart, ended the fight. The enemy fell on its knees, and the SynthMech crushed its heart on its hand.

After the fight, the TK-2 Taekyon was tasked with taking care of the enemy, taking advantage of the dense foliage of the jungle for concealment. Using its scanners and thermal imaging, the SynthMech was able to locate the enemy.

Disciplined bursts of machine gun fire from its light machine gun destroyed the enemy. They did not expect that the SynthMech could locate them with ease. Seeing the horrors the enemy had brought them, some militiamen run away only to get shot by the precise burst of machine gun fire. Annihilating the enemy, the pilot of the TK-2 Taekyon shifted its sights to its ally.

The Type 89 Kotetsu, wielding an enormous blade on its right arm, stood surrounded by five bio terror weapons. As the humanoid undead weapons closed in, the Kotetsu did not move an inch, as if inviting them to attack first. The three bio terror weapons charged at the Kotetsu. The force of the combined charge of the three staggered the SynthMech several meters from where it stood. Two bio terror weapons attacked with huge rocks with their hands, smashing it at the back of the SynthMech.

As the rocks splintered, there was no traceable damage from the SynthMech's armor. In response to the attack, the SynthMech skillfully recovered itself. It shifted its attention towards the bio terror weapon at its back, slicing the head of one of them.

The head of the bio terror weapon flew several meters away and landed near where Andre and the others were located. This caused Sasha to barf, seeing the monstrosity of human flesh mangled and turned into a weapon.

"Seriously, Sasha!" Stevan complained at Sasha's barfing.

When one of the bio terror weapons rushed to where Andre and his group was located. One hundred meters away from where the SynthMech stood. The SynthMech "Kotetsu" hurled its blade at the bio terror weapon, landing on its back and slicing its spine vertically.

Three other bio terror weapons ganged up on the weaponless SynthMech, trying to overwhelm it with brute force. As they charged towards the SynthMech, the Kotetsu countered by tackling the enemy by its own.

The enemy bio terror weapons momentarily stopped the Kotetsu's momentum. Slowly, the SynthMech gained momentum as the three bio terror weapons were pushed away. They struggled to overwhelm the SynthMech but their efforts were in vain. The three bio terror weapons were pushed away. One of them tried to break the SynthMech's arms by locking itself. The Kotetsu pilot, seeing this, piloted his SynthMech to grab the bio terror weapon by its head. The enemy struggled when it tried to free itself from the grasp of the SynthMech.

Like crushing a brittle shell, the bio terror weapon's head crushed under the pressure of the SynthMech's grip, and then it ceased its movement. The SynthMech-Kotetsu dropped the enemy on the ground, lifeless.

Andre closed his eyes out of exhaustion. Seeing the SynthMechs gaining the upper hand in the situation made him feel relieved. He rested his head on Sasha's shoulders. Thinking that Andre had passed away, Stevan checked on him if he was breathing. Sasha confirmed that Andre was still alive. He was just asleep. Hearing the sound of the helicopter blades chopping through the air, getting louder. Stevan and Sasha knew that help was coming. As the SynthMech continued their fight against the bio terror weapons and stragglers from the militia. Stevan and Sasha, who were aiding Andre with their shoulders, went to a safe place where they could be extracted from the area.
