A reason that's not great, not noble—it's almost like he's wearing the words "total loser" on his face.
This is Kurama, unapologetic and honest. He's just a lazy otaku, and world peace is his ultimate dream.
No one can stop me from changing my "waifus" every four months! No one!
If anyone dares to stop me from living my otaku life, I'll fight them with everything I've got! I'll do whatever it takes to take you down!
Call me selfish, call me shameless—I don't care.
Kurama's eyes burned with anticipation for the Boruto series. Even fire retardants couldn't extinguish the blazing otaku fire in my heart!
Hagoromo fell silent for a moment, then let out a long sigh, shaking his head. "The power of an otaku is truly terrifying."
"Hmph," Kurama proudly lifted his chin. "I'm an otaku, and I'm proud of it. I didn't eat your rice, and I didn't use your internet. How I live is none of your business."
"You..." Hagoromo looked at Kurama, dragging out his words, then slowly continued under Kurama's proud gaze, "You actually did eat my rice. After all, considering our family ties, I could be considered your father. Your chakra also came from me."
Kurama: "..."
Damn, I forgot about that.
"But I accept your reason," Hagoromo said with a smile, placing his hand on Kurama. "You're different from Naruto and Sasuke. I can give you this power now, and I'll teach you how to use it. But how far you go with it depends on you."
"Who do you think I am? I'm a genius physicist... oops! I mean, I'm the strongest tailed beast, Kurama!" Kurama almost slipped up.
Chakra is a mysterious power. Just as tailed beasts can lend their chakra seeds to others, the Rikudou Sennin naturally possesses this ability as well. He can plant a seed of Six Paths power within Kurama, and whether that seed grows depends on Kurama himself.
The power flowed from Hagoromo's arm into Kurama's body. Even though it was just a seed, the Six Paths power was incredibly strong. For a moment, Kurama felt as if his vast chakra was completely suppressed by that tiny seed.
But as Hagoromo continued, that feeling gradually faded. Instead, the seed took root within Kurama, slowly merging and eventually disappearing without a trace.
Yet Kurama knew he had grown stronger, and with time, he would only grow stronger, until the day he fully mastered the Six Paths power.
The Rikudou Sennin withdrew his hand. "The rest is up to you."
"Ah," Kurama straightened up, clenched his fist, and his eyes were filled with determination. "No one will ever disturb my otaku life. No one."
Unless that guy wants to know what it feels like to get wrecked by a tailed beast!
Next up were Naruto and Sasuke.
Hagoromo left the seal space and looked at the two with a kind gaze as they were surrounded by the villagers.
That night, the party finally ended. Naruto lay on the floor, completely exhausted, staring blankly at the stars. Sasuke had it worse—his clothes were almost torn off. If he hadn't run away fast enough, those overly friendly villagers might have already prepared a girl to throw into his room, forcing him to consummate the marriage that very night.
Scary. So scary.
Hagoromo walked over with a smile, not minding the mess, and sat down beside Naruto and Sasuke. "How does it feel compared to your time?"
"It's terrifying. The people here are terrifying…" Sasuke replied, still in shock.
Naruto nodded in agreement. "They're really warm and welcoming, and I'm happy about that, but it's still terrifying. Thank goodness I had Hinata as an excuse, or else those enthusiastic villagers would've locked me in a room with some girl they picked out and forced me to get married."
Sasuke glanced at Naruto with a blank expression. "At least you had Hinata to use as a shield. I had to fight my way out of that crowd!"
If it weren't for shadow clones and substitution techniques, he would've been stripped naked by now.
The two looked at each other and then shed tears of relief.
Hagoromo chuckled at the scene. "Well, it just means they really like you."
The villagers in this era were genuinely simple and kind. Those who had built the ninja order with Hagoromo were people with noble ideals, and their purity and goodness far surpassed others of this time.
In truth, even if Sasuke hadn't escaped, the villagers wouldn't have forced him to consummate anything. At most, they would've let him and the girl spend some time together. The reason they tried to strip him was simply because his reaction was too funny.
No malice, just pure kindness.
After saying this, Hagoromo placed his hands on Naruto and Sasuke's heads and smiled. "Alright, now let's talk about something serious. I've figured out what to teach you two for your training, but before that, there's one thing we must do."
"Or rather, something you two must do."
"What?" Naruto and Sasuke were initially excited to hear about training, but now they were confused.
Hagoromo laughed but didn't answer directly.
Just as the two were wondering what was going on, they suddenly noticed the scene around them had changed. In an instant, the courtyard they were in turned into a dark sewer, with a large gate behind them. Inside the gate, Kurama sat, watching them.
This time, Kurama actually seemed somewhat serious. "I've told you before, Naruto. Besides my chakra, there are two other people's chakras inside you. What the old man is talking about is related to that."
Naruto's eyes widened in disbelief as he looked at Hagoromo. "You mean… my father and mother?"
Hagoromo nodded gently.
Sasuke stayed silent for a moment. He knew that the chakras of Naruto's parents were sealed inside him, but for some reason, Naruto and Kurama had never told him who they were.
Sasuke didn't mind much. Based on what he knew, they were probably elite ninjas from the village's past, though he wasn't sure which ones.
But he had another question. "What about me? Do I need to be here too?"
Hagoromo smiled at him. "There's a memory left inside you too, but not in the form of chakra. It's more like… a genjutsu from your time. According to Kurama's memories, this genjutsu comes from your brother, Uchiha Itachi's Mangekyou Sharingan technique—Tsukuyomi."
Sasuke clenched his fists, his eyes turning red. "I don't need to see that memory again!"
He didn't want to relive the coldness and fear of that time again.
However, Hagoromo suddenly shook his head. "Things might be a bit different from what you imagine."
"What do you mean?" Sasuke almost couldn't wait to ask.
"That memory isn't complete," Hagoromo explained calmly. "When your brother used Tsukuyomi on you, he only showed you the part of the memory he wanted you to see. What I'm going to do is give you the complete memory."
The Tsukuyomi that Sasuke experienced was different from the one Kakashi went through. The genjutsu space created for Sasuke was based on Itachi's memories—a full memory, but Itachi had the ability to control which part Sasuke saw. Hagoromo, however, had the power to restore the entire memory, including the parts Itachi didn't want Sasuke to see.
"I know that memory might be different from what you expect," Kurama suddenly spoke up, his expression serious. "Both the old man and I think you should see it. Of course, if you really don't want to, we won't force you."
"This memory… might change how you see Konohagakure," Kurama said, his tone unusually solemn.
This was a rare side of him.
Sasuke silently stared at his reflection in the water, his face twisted with anger. After a long while, he looked up, his expression firm. "I want to see it."
Hagoromo smiled with relief. "Then, who should we start with?"
Naruto and Sasuke exchanged glances. Before Naruto could speak, Sasuke said, "Naruto, I need some time to prepare myself. You go first."
Naruto was momentarily speechless. He knew about Sasuke and Itachi's history, so he nodded. "Alright, I understand. Then I'll leave it to you, Grandpa Hagoromo."
"Then, get ready," Hagoromo said, raising his right hand toward the massive seal on the prison door. As Naruto took a deep breath, a powerful energy burst from Hagoromo's body.
A gentle breeze formed within the seal space, and the huge prison door suddenly shattered. Two streams of chakra, each a different color, flowed out of the seal and pooled on the ground.
The seal was broken.
In Naruto's eyes, filled with both hope and a hint of fear, the two streams of chakra slowly took shape. Right in front of the three of them and Kurama, they formed into two figures—a man and a woman. Both had their eyes closed, their faces peaceful.
Sasuke's eyes widened in shock as he stared at the two figures. Without thinking, he blurted out in disbelief, "The Fourth Hokage, Namikaze Minato!"
Hearing his name, Minato instinctively opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was that familiar figure.
He was momentarily stunned, but his surprise quickly turned to joy. "Naruto… has the seal been broken?"
"Minato?" Kushina, hearing Minato's voice, immediately opened her eyes. In an instant, she heard the name she had longed for.
Kushina eagerly turned her head, her eyes landing on the young man standing in front of her. Tears welled up in her eyes, and her bright red hair swayed gently in the breeze.
She covered her mouth, taking an involuntary step back. "Naruto? Is that… is that really you?"
Naruto stared at the two figures in front of him. The faces were so familiar, yet the voices were so unfamiliar. He opened his mouth to speak, but the words caught in his throat.
What should he say at a time like this?
Should he introduce himself as usual, saying, "Hi, I'm Uzumaki Naruto, the future Hokage"? Or should he stay silent, accusing them of abandoning him?
He did neither.
Unable to hold back his tears, Naruto rushed forward and threw himself into Kushina's arms. In a trembling but firm voice, he uttered the first words he had ever spoken to her.
"Mom!"
