A reason for murder____1

After making the call, Phoebe was silent for a while which intrigued David. Her silence was not like the previous one where she was guarded because she had assumed that he was hitting on her.

This silence was tense and dark, like the clouds which covered the sky before a storm hit. David couldn't maintain his silence fifteen minutes more into the ride. Her unhappiness caused him unhappiness too and aroused the sleeping knight in him.

Whoever or whatever had made her unhappy, he intended to slay to the very death.

"Is something bothering you?"

"No." Phoebe answered without turning.

He couldn't read her thoughts from the angle where he was and he sighed. It was obvious that something was bothering her but she didn't want to admit it. It was something related to the Mayfairs and birth of a child.
