The next morning,
Ivy was the first to wake up and opened her eyes slowly. Her head was throbbing with pain as her eyes landed on Roderick's back toward her. She pulled back her arm, realising she was hugging him to sleep.
Ivy quietly moved her arm back and slowly sat up, careful enough not to disturb his sleep. She ran her fingers through her hair, tightly shutting her eyes, recalling what she was blabbering last night.
'I need to stop clinging to him. He has his own life,' she thought and brought her knees together to rest her head over them. She remained in that position, contemplating how quick things changed in her life when Roderick turned around in his sleep.
She looked at his face from this angle. After a moment, she brought down her hand to his face and traced the bridge of his nose using her finger.
