Meeting Theodorus

"What is happening?" Acantha gasped as the Wolf jumped out. It had thick black oily furs, red eyes, and teeth blaring. It could have been mistaken for a feral wolf, but feral wolves would have moved for its prey instantly.

" It's a rogue wolf."Kara's hands trembled; Her eyes fixed on the predator. It was circling them. Trying to know who to attack first.

"What?" Acantha's voice came out as a croak. " I don't understand." Her lips trembled.

"They don't subscribe to Alpha Ghod's rule," Kara answered her impatiently.

Acantha turned to look at Kara, then darted her attention to the Wolf, ready to attack. "You are a wolf, too, right? Can't you do something?."

Kara turned and glared at her incredulously. "He's .." she did not finish her statement when another wolf jumped out of the woods.

"Dear moon !!." Kara shouted. " Run, there are two of them. She shouted, running hysterically.

"Wait!." Acantha shouted after Kara but she did not hear her.

The new Wolf was a neat white male wolf. It's eye blue which was an unusual color for a wolf. Instantly, it lunged towards the other Wolf, its impact lunching Acantha to the floor.

"What is going on?" Kara yelled from afar. She could not see the wolves but could smell and feel their emotions.

"I don't know!" Acantha scampered on her feet and ran in Kara's direction. " Thanks for nothing, wolf." She yelled at Kara when she got to her.

"That wolf would've torn me apart." Kara bent her head. Her face clouded with fear.

"HOO WLL!!!!" They both heard the wolf howl.

"What is going on?" Acantha asked, Her mouth trembling.

"The white Wolf won

"Do you know what curfew means?" The young man stared at Acantha. His eyes were unblinking, and he had a small frown.

Acantha nodded. She was too scared to say anything.

"You know what a curfew means still you are outside at this time of the day?" His eyes were wide open, and Acantha could not tell if he was surprised or angry.

" He looks a little bit of both, though." Acantha thought, her eyes scanning the surroundings. The snack Lau6 gave her was on the floor, sooth covering it.

"Thank you for saving us," Acantha said, staring at the snack bitterly.

"That is not the answer to my question." He shrugged. "What are you guys doing outside by this time of the day?" He turned to look at Acantha and then Kara.

Acantha regarded him for a while. "Sir, thanks for helping us, but I don't see how this concerns you."

"Really? He smiled thinly. Sucking on his lips.

"Yes." She retorted flatly and pulled Kara, who was too stunned to speak.

"Who does he think he is? '' Acantha asked. Walking ahead of Kara. Since Kara had run away during the Wolf's fight, she had resorted to looking out for herself.

"Calm down, Luna, you are walking too fast." Kara, who was tired from running, was dragged behind them.

Acantha turned to look at Kara, her eyebrows furrowed, and her bright brown eyes glimmered. "Look at how he questioned us as though we owe him our lives for saving us."

"He saved our lives." Kara pointed out tiredly.

"And we appreciated him for that. Didn't we? Acantha matched on.

Kara nodded. Yeah, we did. Luna, did you notice he looked familiar?"

"Well, one thing I've learned in this town is that ever.." Acantha paused, staring ahead.

" Luna Acantha." The man who'd saved them boomed. " What type of name is that?"

" Well, it's the type you won't want to mess with." Acantha glared at him, her heart racing.

" What if he's also a rogue wolf?" She thought.

"What are you doing here? We've already thanked you." Acantha's voice quaked, and her breath switched manually.

The man turned to Kara, "You got one thing right, though. I look familiar."

" Then who are you?" Acantha asked, arching her brows.

" Theodorus!" He heaved. Hanging his head sideways.

"So dramatic!"Kara scoffed.

" And who is Theodorus?" Acantha turned to look at Kara, hoping she would know who he was.

" She said who is Theodorus?" Theodorus laughed.

Kara's face was passive. " It's not funny." Her voice was thick and apprehensive.

"Well, It's not. I'm Alpha Ghod's Beta."

" Oh," Kara chuckled. You're breaking the curfew, too." Her eyes squinted in amusement.

Theo's eyebrows creased. "I'm not breaking any curfew."

"What do you mean you are not?" Acantha stepped forward.

"You even scolded us as though we were kids." Kara chirped, "How come we've never seen you before." She eyed him suspiciously.

"Well, I was out of town. I came back the night you got married." Theo smiled. Playfully rolling one of the rings on his fingers.

"Really…"

Acantha's brow creased. "And what have you been doing since then? She asked carefully.

"Following you," Theo said flatly. His nose twitched slightly.

"What." Acantha gasped.

"It's not a job I love very much though." Theo quickly added and turned to gauge Kara's reaction

"Why? Kara asked incredulously; sweat suddenly broke from her forehead.

"I'm not sure it's nice to question your Alpha." Theo chuckled

"Why will Ghod order someone to follow me?" Acantha thought.

They were nearing the Alphas palace, and the three-star symbol was already visible overhead.

"The sun, the moon, and the stars," Theo said as they saw the symbol.

*You will not tell Ghod what happened, will you?" Acantha's pale face turned white as she turned to Theo.

" Well." Theo laughed. "What if he orders me?" His face sparkling.

"I'm your Luna, and I'm commanding you."

"Acantha!!" A loud voice barked.

Acantha turned around, and to her horror, He stood in front of the palace gate. Ghod was standing in front of the gate. Two guards flanked his sides. He looked leaner than the last time Acantha saw him.

"The last time you saw him was a memorable day. " Acantha's thoughts clouded Ghod's voice as he raved.
