Amy's POV
I had booked a flight to return home, but my heart was heavy with worry about Mrs. Lane. I couldn't bear the thought of bringing her along; it would only add to her stress. Yet, leaving her here alone felt equally troubling, as she would be consumed with worry and uncertainty.
After several hours of rest, Mrs. Lane had finally awakened. I sat quietly beside her, watching as she gazed sadly at the ceiling, lost in her thoughts. I could only imagine the turmoil raging within her.
"Mrs. Lane…" I began softly, hoping to break the silence. She turned her attention to me, her expression both fragile and determined.
"I need to let you know that I've booked my flight back home. I want to see what I can do to help find Zara," I said gently, wishing to convey the urgency of my situation without overwhelming her.
"What? You want to leave without me?" she asked, surprise lacing her voice.
