I was taken aback to find Zara's mother standing in my sitting room, her heart heavy with grief as she accused me of Zara's disappearance. I understood her feelings; she was a mother, desperate for her daughter, and discovering the truth about our fabricated relationship must have been a devastating blow.

What struck me most was her appearance. She looked strikingly different from the woman I remembered at the wedding—her face was pale, and she seemed frail and weak. Seeing Amy rush to help her stand highlighted the extent of her struggle. It made me truly wonder what kind of illness had taken such a toll on her.

When I arrived at the police station, I was met with a crowd of reporters, their cameras and microphones ready. It was overwhelming; their presence made it challenging to find my way inside, adding to the chaos of the moment.
