"Kids, could you come downstairs" Margret called out.
"Yes mom" they both said and came downstairs.
"Listen girls, I and your mom are going out for an event tonight. So I need you guys to be on your best behavior because I hired a babysitter for you" said Ronald.
"Really" said Jessica.
"Yeah, she'll be here in a few minutes. But we have to go before then, if you hear the doorbell. Make sure you check the peephole before opening, no one except your new babysitter is allowed in okay, and if she causes any trouble for you girls, tell mommy and daddy when we get back okay" said Margret.
"Okay" they both answered.
"Alright, love you" Margret said and kissed their foreheads.
"Bye kids" said Ronald.
"Bye dad" said Roxanne.
When the door was shut, Elma shoved past Jessica and went to the living room.
"Move loser, my show is about to start" said Elma as she sat on the couch.
Jessica scoffed and sat on the couch as well
...
Ding Dong…
The doorbell rang.
"I'll get it…" Jessica said and went to the door.
She peeked through the peephole to see who it was, and saw a young female adult.
Jessica opened the door, when she was sure it was safe.
"Hi there darling, my name's Janet, is this the Oliver residence?" said Janet.
"Yeah it is" Jessica answered.
"Great, I'm the babysitter your parents hired, I'm sorry I'm late, I had a few more classes to attend, please don't tell your parents" said Janet.
"Okay, come in" said Jessica.
"Thank you" Janet said and walked inside the house.
"Elma" Jessica called out to her.
"What!" Elma answered back, irritated.
"Our babysitter's here" said Jessica.
"So…" Elma sneered and went back to watching her cartoons.
"You know, that's not how you're supposed to talk to your siblings" said Janet as she went to where Elma was sitting.
"Whatever" Elma said continued to watch her show.
Janet eyed the way the girl behaved and went to the kitchen to drink some water.
...
"Alright" Janet said and took the remote from Elma.
"Enough TV, it's time for dinner" Janet said and switched off the television.
"Hey! Give that back" Elma yelled at Janet.
"No, I said it's time for dinner. Now come to the table so you can tell me what you want to eat, then you'll continue watching your cartoons" Janet said and folded her arms.
Elma fumed and went to the dining table.
"Alright Kids, what do you want to eat for dinner?" Janet asked.
"Um…" Jessica was about to say but got cut off her speech by Elma.
"I want pizza" said Elma.
"Okay, what about you Roxanne?" Janet asked again.
"Pizza sounds great" said Jessica.
"Perfect, you girls can go back to the couch, once the pizza's here, I'll call you guys to come eat okay" said Janet.
"Ok" they girls said and went back to the couch.
Janet took the remote on the table, and was about to choose a channel. Until Elma snatched the remote from her.
"Hey, what gives? Give that back, your show is already over" said Jessica.
"I know, that's why I wanna watch the next one" said Elma.
Jessica didn't really care, and just went to stay with Janet in the kitchen.
Besides, the channel that would've been on TV right now, was a True crime series. And right now, she wasn't allowed to watch it.
And even though she still likes watching cartoons, she didn't want to make a fuss.
"Why the long face Roxanne, Elma's not letting you watch what you want" asked Janet.
"Yeah, but it's no biggie, I can always watch another time" said Jessica.
Janet frowned and went to Elma furious.
"Out of the way, I'm watching my show" said Elma.
"It's Roxanne's turn to watch what she wants, your shows already ended" said Janet as she took the remote from Elma.
"Hey, gimme, gimme…" Elma whined.
"No, Roxanne…" Janet called out to the child.
"You can come watch what you want now" said Janet.
"Thanks Janet" said Jessica as she took the remote and watched what she wanted.
Much to the annoyance of Elma
...
"Girls, pizza's here" said Janet as she went to the get the pizza.
"Elma, Roxanne, could you help me set the table" said Janet.
"Yes Janet" said Jessica.
"Thanks" said Janet as she paid the pizza delivery man.
Jessica went to the cabinet and brought out a plate for her, Elma and Janet.
Along with some cups and orange juice.
"This goes here, and this goes…here. Perfect" said Jessica.
When she was still in her original world, she loved making things look orderly.
'It's either that or her OCD' Ash said.
'Buzz off Flakey' Jessica said in her thoughts.
It was true that she had OCD, but it wasn't that…serious.
'Why are you making the napkins look like triangles?' Ash asked concerned.
'I like making it look fancy' Jessica answered.
'YOU'RE EATING PIZZA!' Ash yelled.
'Who says eating pizza, shouldn't have some…pizazz. See what I did there' Jessica joked.
'Sigh…' Ash sighed.
"Roxanne, this is a nice set-up. You really made it look like we're about to eat a five star meal" said Janet.
"Oh…" Jessica chuckled, causing Elma to roll her eyes.
"Just give me my Pizza already, I'm starving" Elma said as she wanted to open the pizza box.
"Hey…" Elma whined when Janet dragged the pizza box away from her.
"Last time I checked, you're not the oldest here, I am. So wait for your slice" said Janet.
Janet shared the pizza among the girls, and herself.
She gave Roxanne two slices, Elma one, and she took three.
"Why does Roxanne get 2 slices" Elma asked furiously.
"It's cuz she helped set the table" said Janet irritated by the girl's behavior.
"I want 2 slices too" said Elma.
"You can have mine Elma, just please don't make Janet stressed out" said Jessica as she put one of her pizza slices on Elma's plate.
"Huh…I think that's enough" Janet said fed up with Elma's attitude.
"Roxanne take back your pizza slice" said Janet.
"But…" Jessica tried to refuse.
"No buts, take back your slice" said Janet.
"Ok" Jessica said and took her slice of pizza from Elma's plate.
"No…give it back" Elma whined like a baby.
"I'm tired of your behavior Elma, you're so rude and bratty and act like a baby all the time. You treat your sister like she's your enemy, when she hasn't even done anything wrong to you, and when your parents come back. I'm going to tell them about how naughty you've been" said Janet.
Elma's lips quivered, until she broke into tears and ran out of the room.
"I'll go talk to her" Jessica said and chased after Elma.
Janet just sighed and continued to eat her pizza.
...
"Hey, why the hell are you acting this way? You're making Janet sad" said Jessica when she caught up to Elma in the hallway.
"Who cares about Janet" Elma said and went to the top of the stairs.
"Right now, I've got you where I want you" said Elma.
"What do you…hey" Jessica exclaimed when she saw Elma run down the stairs.
Jessica knew what she was trying to do and chased after her.
When Elma reached the bottom of the stairs, she jumped and fell on the floor on purpose.
"Oww…ouch, my leg" Elma winced.
"Oh no, Elma are you okay" said Janet as she ran to where Elma was.
"I'm not, R…Roxanne pushed me" Elma said and started shedding tears…Fake tears.
"Roxanne? How could she push you, she's in the kitchen right now" said Janet.
"What?" Elma said and looked at the kitchen, surprisingly finding Roxanne there.
"I bet you just tripped and lost your balance, come on, I'll help with your ankle" said Janet.
"Um…thanks but don't worry, it doesn't hurt anymore" said Elma with an awkward chuckle and went to the living room.
'Nice save Jessica' Ash praised her.
'Oh it's nothing, I've seen this move being pulled a LOT of times in dramas. You know, when the antagonist tries to sabotage the protagonist, by blaming him/her for pushing them down the stairs. And in the typical scenario, the protagonist just stares as the antagonist falls down. But I, with my superior brain and intellect. Went down the stairs with her before any assumptions could be made. Do you get it Ash' Jessica explained smugly, but got no reply.
'Ash' Jessica called out again.
Ash was fast asleep, snoring away while Jessica made her explanation.
'Oh come on' Jessica said annoyed.
...
"Thanks for babysitting our kids Janet, we're very grateful to have you take care of them" said Margret.
"You're welcome Mrs. Oliver" said Janet.
"Your money's been sent, and I added extra. Just a simple thanks for putting them to sleep" said Margret.
"Thank you Ma'am, I would love to babysit again, see you guys next time, good night" said Janet as she left their house.
"Bye dear, have a safe trip home" said Ronald.
He and Margret then went inside.
