Word from the Elf King

'I wonder what other cities have?' Uravis asked himself as he looked through his holographic map, his eyes scanning the clusters of land and water surrounding them. 'It would be nice if I found a more modern metropolis, it would do some good if I can find a game console or something I can play with.'

Staying away from clicking and burning his eyes with his computer or phone screen was already getting to Uravis. He was getting impatient with the lack of technology.... Or in this case, the lack of technology from his world.

He heaved a sigh and turned off the map, then he turned to his scorpion with a pouch on its back. He had to make his ride look comfortable, since he would be travelling for hours or even days.

He added a few things to his clothes as well, a tent and cushion, hats that Claire suggested that he take with him due to the heat from the sun during mid day. She also made him carry a dozen of masks that he would use if he wanted to switch in-between identities.

Then Claire came up behind him, holding a bag with food supplies and water, she got on the scorpions back with the aid of a ladder, he put to ensure easy climbing for her. She added it to the other things and exhaled. She was done packing and what she had to do was convince Uravis to let her travel with him.

"Hey Uravis,"

"Yeah," he answered, not sparing her a glance as his eyes was still on the glass slab, he was still looking at the information in it, something that would help him on his journey.

"I packed my things with yours," she announced with a smirk, "And there is nothing you can do about it," she added as she alighted the scorpions back.

Uravis raised his head, his eyes met hers, now noticing the mischievous grin on her face, he shook his head and put the slab in the cross bag around his waist.

"You are daring me,Claire."

Claire gasped at his statement, "Watch your manners, I am your elder sister, Such disrespect will not be tolerated," she stated, raising one of her fingers in the air to prove a point.

Uravis tilted his head to look at her then he smirked, "If you want to come along then you have to ride a beast," he paused as a sinister grin found its way on his lips, "Alone."

Claire flinched when his words and how he said it hit her, she crossed her arms and averted her gaze, "I agree, how bad can it be?"

"Alright," Uravis grabbed her hands and pulled her to the other side of the manor, he put his two fingers between his lips and blew air between them, releasing a shrill whistle that caused birds that sat on the manor, to fly off.

Suddenly a Komodo dragon emerged from the ground, its massive body overshadowing Uravis like a two floor apartment. Before the beast could touch him, he raised his hand, causing it to stay still then he smiled. "Good girl, Now stay," he commanded and watched the reptile settle before him.

He turned to Claire who look petrified, she was shaking and her legs were trembling visibly. "So?" he asked, gesturing at the beast behind him.

"Do you have another?" she stuttered, clenching her palms together. Just staring at the beast made her almost pee herself.

Uravis shrugged and snapped his fingers, The Komodo dragon went back the same way it came, but then a griffin appeared with armours covering all parts of its body. "This?"

Claire shook her head frantically then Uravis groaned, "Okay, since I am taking them all with me, you can choose the one you like. Don't get too friendly, if it's not me then be careful. Don't touch their ears," he warned and snapped his finger, then he stepped back.

Dust rose, the sound of wings flapping, roaring and hissing came from every corner of the manor. Uravis grabbed Claire's hands and led her away from the manor to the open field. He moved her hand away from her eyes, as she slowly opened them her jaw dropped.

A Scorpion, Dragon, Jaguar, Monitor lizard, Komodo dragon, griffin, sand worm, crocodile, eagle and a Raven. All, the size of two floor houses or even larger, they all had the same type of armours on, with Drakonis name signed on them. All having green eyes, except for the scorpion and Dragon that had red eyes, Uravis' favourite beasts.

They came along with the manor, kept under the manor with chains to keep them in place. Uravis managed to tame to chaotic ones, Reptiles mostly, the others already liked him...and he didn't put them on chains.

"What do you think?"

"Four in the air."

"Five on land."

"One in water. How great is that?" he exclaimed and turned to Claire who looked like she could die any moment. "Are you okay?"

"No!" she yelled and hugged him, burying her face in his chest, "So terrifying, I don't want anyone."

"Not even the Jaguar," he gestured at the massive cat, she raised her head from his chest and looked at it. It looked calm and had eyes like hers, well they all had the same shade of green she had.

"They will tear me apart," she whispered, still hiding her face in his chest.

Uravis sighed and tore her hands off him. "Look at this."

He walked to each one of the beasts, his hands rubbing and petting their heads, ears and nose. Especially the Jaguar that seemed to be the least scariest, considering how adorable it looked. Asides how it looked, the High flyers were the calmest.

Then he stopped before the crocodile, "This guy over here, gave me a scar when I touched him," he explained and gestured at his leg that had a faint scar around his ankle, "Now," he added and forced the crocodiles mouth open, he pushed his hand into its mouth and smiled, then he walked into its mouth. "See, Its safe."

Claire instantly screamed as he walked into the mouth of a possibly hungry beast. "Get out of there!"

She screamed, thus startling the Crocodile, and its mouth dropped with Uravis inside. Uravis on the other hand made no sound, instead he remained still crouching down. 'I should have told her not to yell.'

"No!" she yelled and hurried over to the crocodile, she tried to force its mouth open but it didn't budge and she could not hear Uravis voice.

"Stupid reptile, Open up!" she yelled and hit it, despite the armour surrounding it, she was almost shedding tears when its mouth opened again and Uravis stood there with a frown on his face. "Uravis," she whispered and grabbed his hands then she pulled him out. "Why did you do that?"

"To prove a point my lovely sister," he smiled and rubbed the Crocodiles maw, "Look, they are only dangerous when provoked, well except her," he gestured at the sand worm that seemed to be asleep. "And please don't shout around them."

She nodded and turned to the crocodile that had its eyes on her, "I think I'll go with this one," she slowly raised her hand to its head, a smile slowly appeared on her face. "How fast is he?"

"I don't know, but since they are beasts, their abilities should be different from that of the kinds in my world," he then took his gaze to the others, "It would be risky to let them move freely, especially when there are bounty hunters around," he uttered and then turned to Claire, "Is it possible to create a chamber, like an inventory for beasts that you wanted to summon?"

"Yes."

"Good, now create that and summon all except the croc, scorpion and eagle," he said as he made his way to the eagle. From the corner of his eyes, he watched her contemplate from a moment, then she heaved a sigh. 'Thank you,' he thought and gazed up at the large bird.

"You have something for me" he said and held out his hand, a scroll dropped off its back and into his hand with a soft thud, "Who still uses scrolls?" he asked as he opened up the scroll, the first thing that caught his eyes was the initials at the top. Initials that looked like a spiral, with an E at the center.

Then he opened it up completely and ran his eyes along what was written. As he read a smile found its way to his lips. "Elf king is sick and they need me.. Drakonis."

"A perfect start for my mission," he mumbled and turned to Claire, "We are going to the Elf Kingdom."
