Elyria's voice echoed around every corner of the roof, laughing at everything Arcanis said despite how serious he was. The sun had already come up, casting a bright light over the kingdom and her people, especially the Palace.
It became so hot that they had to sit a corner, away from the scorching and burning heat of the sun.
They sat side by side, drinking and talking, like there was nothing to worry about, when deep down, Uravis knew there was something he was missing and he would soon have to face it.
"You mean to tell me you are just Nineteen?" Elyria asked, after he finished tell her about all he did in the past eighteen or Nineteen years of his life. By all he did, he meant, slacking off with games, eating and skipping his sleep every day.
But he left out the parts about being from another world or about his abilities. He wouldn't trust her yet.
"I would never lie to a Princess," he said, sincerity laced in his voice, "I am but it feels like I'm aging too fast."
Elyria smiled, over the few minutes she spent with him, it felt like it had been months. She got to know his real name, but he twisted it, telling her those were names family gave him because they seemed to forget his actual name, but warned her to tell no one.
She also got to realize he was actually caring and just wanted peace, but outside he wanted to do everything in his power to get his peace, even if it meant turning into the villain instead.
"I can see why you think you're aging fast, You don't speak like a nineteen years old. You're too wise and overly intelligent to be one, I bet you also have the skills of an experienced mage."
He chuckled softly and sipped his wine, "Let's just say I learn fast and I adapt perfectly well, especially in tough situations," he said and turned to her, "Say, you haven't told me what your abilities are?"
"Oh that," she trailed off, averting her gaze from him, "It's not something I would want anyone to witness," she paused, searching for the right words to use, "My abilities are pathetic."
"I'll be the one to judge," he replied and rose to his feet, he held her hand and helped her up, "Tell me what it is, show me and I'll judge."
She laughed nervously, feeling nervous and at the same time embarrassed about revealing her ability to him.
"Well, just like your sister, I am a summoner but I am limited to only Beasts, mainly aquatic, I guess it's like that because my dad is an elementary master," she paused, a smile slowly finding its way to her lips. "The other one I have is my ability to temporarily paralyze the ability of another."
As she said those words, he slowly let go of her hand and took a step back. "I see. For how long?"
"Five hours or more, it depends on how strong the person's ability it," she stated and he took another step back, "What's wrong?" she asked, after noticing he was suddenly distancing himself.
"Ah," he laughed nervously, "I don't want my abilities to get paralyzed."
"I would never do that to you," she defended, asking herself within, how she managed to muster up so much courage to say such, "Believe me," she placed her hand on her chest to show her honesty, but he would rather be safe than sorry.
"How do you activate it?" he took a step closer, but far enough, so she won't touch him and so he would have an easy way to escape if it was a blast.
Elyria's smile fell, seeing that he didn't trust her, but she decided to answer either way, "If I touch the forehead of my victim which is extremely hard, considering a fight with weapons and not hand to hand."
"Depending on weapons alone is not a good thing, you should learn how to battle, hand to hand," he advised with his eyes closed–something he found out was Arcanis way of speaking, especially when it includes advised or something he would have to think about most times he would end up hallucinating which was very bad.
At least he was certain she wouldn't do anything. As long as he does not let her touch his face then everything was alright.
He froze when he felt her hand on his forehead, the aura and magic energy surging within her was close to that of Thorne, his heart skipped a beat when she did and he felt like dieing.
Without thinking, he switched to Nightshade and grabbed her throat, he raised her off the ground, his eyes boring deep into her soul as rage clouded his thoughts, he tightened his grip around her throat, despite how she pleaded silently that he let go.
Ignoring her pleas he tightened and tightened his grip around her throat, watching as her blue bell eyes slowly faded. He didn't care, Nightshade was not one to, and since it was his Identities involved Uravis had no choice but not to care.
He would rather kill a threat than let it roam free. And she was a threat.
"Arcanis," he heard her whisper, her breathing blocked as she slowly lost her life. "Arcanis," she called again then he frowned.
His eyes suddenly snapped open, his eyes landed on a worried Elyria, he felt hot, with beads of sweat forming on his forehead.
"What happened?" she asked, her eyes not leaving him for a moment, she raised her hand to touch him but he stopped her.
"Don't...not now," he uttered and took a step away. "Stupid hallucinations," he mumbled as he calmed himself down, trying to slow his racing heart.
Elyria stood aside, wondering what she must have said wrong or what happened to him that he drifted and suddenly became sick.
He was burning up badly, despite how he tried to calm himself. It was like hallucinating was a way of warning himself, but it also took a great toll on him. He inhaled and exhaled multiple times, meditating.
However, he was interrupted by Elyria who held the glass slab in her hand, floating above it was the holographic of Seraphina and Torvald, with what sounded like arguing in the background.
His brows curved questionably as he stared at them, they looked okay but he was more bothered about the sound in the background. "Torvald, what is going on?"
"You have got a beautiful lady by your side today again, How do you do it?" Torvald said, deviating from the matter on hand and the question he asked.. Elyria who realized it was her he was referring to, felt her cheeks swell but she mumbled a thank you.
"Seriously? This is not the time to be complementing a girl," Arcanis scolded him with a serious expression, " "What is that sound and why are the both of you together?"
Seraphina pushed Torvald away to get a better view of him, "We met in a temple after I decided to rest and give you a report. His group wanted to rest as well and he got lost, so they found their way here. About the sound," she chuckled. "Torvald said things he was not supposed to say and now his group and mine are against each other because they want to convince the other that one of us is the best leader, some others want to move solo, while the other few want to move with you."
She explained and he responded with a face palm, "There is something seriously wrong with Torvald, I know," she agreed with him, even though he had not said anything.
"Hey," Elyria called Seraphina's attention to her since Arcanis was busy thinking of what to do. "Try to get them to compete in various games, that way they could have fun and rest before he gets there. To avoid causing a fight that would end up bad," she suggested, earning a smile from Seraphina and a surprised gaze from Arcanis.
Seraphina scoffed, "I am very offended you're already replacing me with her, but I will let it slide this once, if you bring her with you," she said to Arcanis and stepped back, "Please hurry before things get worse, and thank you...."
"Elyria. Princess Elyria," she responded with a slight bow.
Seraphina nodded and waved before disconnecting.
Arcanis placed his hand on her head, patting her gently for the suggestion she gaze, "If only I could have you by my side, it would be easier to make decisions," he uttered, despite how much he didn't want to, but he did.
Elyria smiled and whispered, "I am going with you, and you have no right to say no."
