Unveiling Nightshade I : Training the Alliance

At the mention of the Void Serpent everyone went silent, anxiousness building up within them. Seeing that his words had affected them, he smiled and made his way into the temple, dragging Elyria behind him.

As he vanished through the entrance of the massive concrete gate, Seraphina turned to the crowd with a nervous smile, because she was trying to hide her anxiety.

"You heard him, clean up and settle down!" she announced and turned to Torvald whose eyes scanned everywhere for Claire, since she was no where to be found. "Instead of standing here, why not move around?"

"I wish I could," he admitted with a strained voice and gestured at his leg.

She traced her gaze to his leg and almost choked, she took a quick step back before talking.

"What the heck is that?"

"This," he chuckled and crossed his arms, "This is what scorpions do to people," he glanced back at his slightly purple feet with a piece of cloth tied around it, to stop the blood and poison flow.

Seraphina sighed and dipped her hands into the pocket of her jacket, she took out a small bottle and pushed it into his hand.

"Drink it and find a place to rest, I'll look for his sister," she said and walked off, not sparing him a glance despite how stunned he looked.

Within the grey and dusty looking, abandoned temple, Elyria sat beside the altar, her gaze set on the sword he had given to her to hold while he got dressed.

He stood behind her after making sure he warned snd put fear in her, so she would not peak at him.

Not like he had anything to hide, but he wouldn't want to risk revealing his Identity to her, yet.

He changed into a white button up shirt with the first few buttons open, he had the sleeves rolled up to his elbow and a grey sweatpants.

However, he thought about the times he switched identies, every identity comes with their own outfits, especially Nightshade, who was always in black.

Arcanis and Drakonis, wore simple outfits, like the styles used in the medieval era, only difference was the designs and colours.

He was not a fan of the outfits, but did he have a choice? No.

The only way he would be able to change clothes was if he changed with those identies and not as Uravis.

"Your highness," he called softly, trying not to make a sound, since they were in a temple.

"Stop calling me that," she complained, almost whining. Just hearing those words made her cringe and at the same time, get mad.

"What should I call you then? My queen, your majesty, My princess, Princess, Heir to the throne," he paused and then smirked, "First lady," he strained on the words and as a result, her sandals came flying towards him.

Being too distracted to notice, it hit him hard on his back, before dropping to the ground with a low thud.

He turned around swiftly, ready to give her a hand full of scolding, only to be met with glowing ocean blue eyes, with that glossy tone underneath.

"Your Highness," he mumbled slowly releasing the locket around his neck, "Err, are you okay?"

"No I am not," she uttered and clenched her fists, "Don't call me that, or else...."

"Or else what," he challenged, his eyes also gleaming with mischief and a sinister hint as well, "You can't do anything," he paused and let his eyes roam around her for weapons, when there was none, a grin appeared on his face.

'Perfect,' he thought, adjusted his mask and stood straight. "Your Highness," he dragged out the words slowly and watched her boil with anger.

He braced himself for impact even before she could attack, and to his surprise, as she charged towards him at full speed and threw a blow that he blocked with his hand.

The force from that one blow sent him flying through the walls of the temple and into the center of where the alliance had set up their camp.

He quickly raised himself back up, unaffected by the attack. He was still stunned at the amount of strength she had, but she was angry, which was bad if he did not act fast.

If he was not careful, she would end up leaving a scar on him.

Something he was trying to avoid, unless it was a scar across the eyes.

Elyria stepped out of the rubble, her outfit still spotless like there was a shield protecting it. She was blind with rage that she instantly forgot about the good he did for her father.

Nothing would make her not pound him to a pulp. She hated being called titles that she did not deserve, it wasn't for no reason.

There is a reason she hated them, but he decided to tease her.

As he caught a glimpse of her, Uravis hurried over to the first tent he could reach, he saw five of the alliance members there, drinking tea.

He frowned but then sighed, "This is not the time to drink tea, gather the others and witness your first lesson," he stated and made his way out of the tent.

He was face to face with an enraged Elyria, a chill then shot through his spine, she was boiling hot. "Your highness," he whispered again after gaining his composure.

However, before she could hit him, he caught her fists in his and tightened his grip around it. "Calm down."

"Never!" she raged as she tried to free her fist from his tight grip, "I'll break you till you learn how to use my name!" she added and freed her hand, she then raised her leg and sent a kick between his legs.

That he made no attempt to protect at first, considering the fact he was facing off against a girl–a 'dangerous when angered' female.

Inches away from impact, seeing as he did not have the speed to move, he clenched his jaws and took the hit.

"Shit," he cussed, letting the pain shoot into his brain and then spread through out his body. He could feel his stomach hurt terribly, but it cannot be compared to the poor brother below.

It would be a miracle if it was not broken, but he had an entire army watching –the alliance, consisting of thirty plus men and women, including Torvald, Claire and Seraphina watching.

He was not one to surrender easily, even if he was down to his last life.

Without thinking twice, He switched to Nightshade, the pain faded a little, enabling him to move now. He vanished before Elyria could prepare another attack.

He appeared behind her, circled his arms around her waist and leaned in, "Relax, Your Highness," he whispered, knowing fully well, it was the same thing she was angry about.

Then he vanished and appeared few inches away from her. "Keep your shockes aside and watch carefully," he glanced at Elyria who turned around, ready to charge at him again, then he turned to them.

"Take this as your first training session from me, You might use it anywhere and anytime, but be aware it uses up alot of energy, especially for those who can pull it off," he explained and vanished before Elyria could get close enough.

He appeared behind her, a smirk playing on his lips, "Your..." he trailed off when a roar interrupted him. Turning around his eyes met a very terrifying crab, the size on his scorpion but it had blue eyes like hers.

"This has got to be a joke," he groaned and turned to face her, "You can't be this mad. It's me, Arcanis," he said, trying to convince her he was the one. And since she was literally blind with rage, so she could not tell if he was Arcanis or not.

All she wanted was to teach him a lesson.

Ignoring his words, she charged towards him, the crab did at the same time. Its bone breaking claws clamping and unclamping, ready to crush him.

He took a deep breath and vanished, he appeared above the crab, his sword in his hand, with a swift slash, that looked like a lightening bolt. He cut off one of its claw and then he vanished again.

He did the same technique three times, pushing all his energy, both physical and magical. He cut off the two claw and one of its eyes, before Elyria finally summoned it back.

Still determined to end it, she charged towards him, a brilliant blue blast forming in her right hand as she moved. Something he did not expect.

"She lied to me about her abilities?" he said to himself, asking no one in particular, but he suddenly felt betrayed. He put aside his emotions instantly and vanished while in mid air.

The Alliance still watched with wide eyes, they saw how he struggled to charge up, but they were certain he was close to his limit.

They made mental notes of all his moves and attack, it was a bonus for those who had the ability to fly and vanish, because they would not struggle to do the moves.

Seraphina especially, was stunned by how strong Elyria was, she almost doubted Drakonis... Nightshade.

Elyria put her hands forward, ready to release the blast when he appeared behind her and smiled. Now remembering hand placements always worked on her and Seraphina.

He gave it a try, again, he circled his arms around her waist, pulling her closer to him till she dropped her guard, he raised her hand, putting it to face the sky.

"Let go," he whispered and watched as she released the blast into the sky. At first he thought it would explode with a destructive pulse, but instead, it faded like it was never there.

"Good girl," he paused and smiled, "You're really good with hand to hand combats, but you need to work on your anger issues. Elyria."
