"Vendetta?" Uravis repeated, the name hitting him like a rock before he regained his composure. "What do you mean by the face of his son? I don't know any other son he has besides Vasquez."
Arkeia smiled, her eyes glowing faintly with a knowing look that made Uravis almost choke.
"You're joking!" he exclaimed, almost yelling. He wasn't going to accept it—not even for a moment. If he had to die for refusing to believe he was the Vendetta she was talking about, then so be it. He was ready to die without blinking an eye.
"I would never joke about such a thing, Uravis," she said, pausing to place her hand on his shoulder. "I am still sorry for what I did that day. I wish I could turn back time and spare you all this pain. I really do. But all things happen for a reason."
"You never knew your parents because they crossed worlds, Uravis. I don't know if you can remember, but they didn't actually die."
