Finn asked a few more questions and received the same answer. He sighed in disbelief and out of habit rubbed his neck only to freeze.
He had expected to feel the warm blood trickling from the open wound but what he got was the softness of his own skin.
"The wound.."
He felt around his neck some more and there was indeed no subtle marks of what had happened a few minutes ago.
Finn's face turned pale and the experiment slowly raised his head gazing at him. At the same time, Finn's gaze also landed on the guy.
"You... did you do this?"
"..."
"Was it you? Did you treat my wound when I was unconscious? How did you do it? How come there's not even a single scar?"
Finn bombarded him with questions one after the other and experiment O blankly stared at him like some sort of interesting creature.
Finn sighed in frustration at the realisation that maybe the guy before him didn't understand anything he said. He cleared his throat and opened his mouth to speak only for the sound of grumbling to sound around them.
Finn's face immediately turned red from embarrassment and experiment O tilted his head in confusion.
"Ahem, well guess am hungry," Finn said tapping his stomach," anything to eat in here?"
Experiment O watched as Finn searched the room and when Finn found nothing edible, he turned to experiment O with a downcast face.
What had he expected? A room filled with blood, dead bodies and chains to contain something edible?
Sighing, he leaned against the wall holding his knees to his chest trying to ignore the grumbles from his stomach.
Sensing something a miss with the creature before him, experiment O cautiously approached him and gently nudged him.
"Okay?"
"..."
Finn raised his head and locked gazes with the pair of jade green eyes that held a mysterious aura about them.
"Am fine," he said and lowered his head only for his chin to be grabbed by a cold hand. The long slender fingers against his skin made him involuntarily shiver.
"Cold," he said his voice barely above a whisper.
Another hand grabbed his wrist and in the blink of an eye, the familiar room filled with bodies turned into a dark hall.
Finn opened his eyes and blinked furiously thinking he might have accidentally closed his eyes but that wasn't the case.
"Where are we?"
He could feel the cold fingers firmly wrapped around his wrist easing his nerves that he wasn't at all alone in this dark, unfamiliar place.
"Uh.. wh.."
Experiment O pulled him down into the darkness and after a few minutes, they emerged in a dimly lit room. There was a long table positioned at the centre of the room with around thirty chairs set on either side, some figures moved left and right placing things on the table and when they noticed their presence, they disappeared into the darkness like shadows.
"That.. who were they?"
Experiment O sat at the front most chair and pulled Finn onto his lap.
"?"
Finn squirmed in the position but experiment O's strength exceeded his own and after a while he had already given up trying to get off.
Experiment O clicked his fingers and a figure appeared beside them placing a bowl before them before disappearing into the darkness.
Finn looked at the food placed on the table before looking at Experiment O who happened to look at him. Their gazes met and Finn sighed.
"I see," he muttered and squinted his eyes trying to see what had been placed before them.
When he couldn't see anything, he resigned to his fate and turned to look at his handsome kidnapper.
Even if he asked what had been served there was no way he could magically answer his question but despite his inner turmoil and protests, he still posed his question.
"So.. what is this?"
Experiment O looked at the food before settling his gaze on the man on his lap.
"Food. You wanted something to eat right? I can assure you this is edible for humans."
Finn blinked in surprise, his mouth opened then closed then opened again, he was beyond baffled. He tried to voice his concerns but his voice betrayed him, not a single sound came from his throat. Experiment O slightly tilted his head, his jade green eyes narrowing as he studied Finn like some priced artefact.
"What's wrong?"
"You... um.. you can talk?"
Experiment O puffed a silent chuckle, pleasing to the ears.
"Of course I can talk did you perhaps think I was a mute or illiterate?"
"Uh..."
Finn chuckled nervously, he had indeed thought that but there was just no way he could plainly admit it.
"So.. why didn't you answer any of my questions before? That made me misunderstand a couple of things."
Experiment O sighed and wrapped his hands around Finn's waist. The long and slender fingers sent a shiver down Finn's spine but he swallowed his nervousness and tried not to focus on the cold fingers wrapped around him.
"I was anxious. Many people are usually brought in the room and I end up killing almost all of them. I was afraid that I had killed you too but luckily you were alive and well even after I drank your blood."
He paused for a moment before continuing," Your blood somehow managed to calm me and I could finally think clearly."
Finn raised a hand," Am confused. I mean the fact that you're a vampire is surprising enough and now you're telling me there's more to this?"
Experiment O nodded," Yeah I think that explanation works."
Ever since he first opened his eyes, all that was before him was the dimly lit metal room he was confined in. After two days, a person would be brought into the room and after a few seconds he would lay unconscious on the ground, his blood sucked dry.
Sensing that his most priced experiment was killing everyone he sent to observe him, Duke had no other option left but dive into immense research about this specie.
His intense efforts did not go to waste when he discovered that there was a person born from a specific family with the power to control his precious specie and he spent the effort searching for the person.
Finn picked the spoon ready to eat when experiment O stopped him.
"?"
"It's cold. Let me change that for you," he said and before Finn could protest, the plate before him had already been replaced with steaming buns.
After dinner, Finn sat in the hot tub looking at the ceiling. A knock sounded from the door and a female voice sounded.
"Sir, may I come in?"
Before he could reply, the maid walked into the bathroom and poured a pink liquid into the water. The water turned from clear to red and a pleasing smell omitted from the water filling the room.
"Master requested I help you with your bath."
Finn sank deeper into the water revealing only his eyes and the top of his head. This action was rather childish for a grown up like him but he honestly had no idea about what to do in the presence of a lady who wanted to bathe him.
The maid chuckled and moved to his side," Let me help you sir."
Finn shook his head and at that moment, the door burst open. The maid stood up from the ground and bowed her head towards the person who had just walked in.
The intruder acknowledged her with a silent nod.
"You may leave. I'll take care of this."
