Successfully Failed!!

BANG..

The blue flare lightens the evening sky a little with it's light before exploding into multiple blue flares.

I wait for a few minutes and grab the last ripe Fruit of Wonder and store it in the holowatch along with the other one with a little reluctance as I have come to know Vimal is from a family that is at low middle class family with five siblings to take care of.

The one information I gained from him that surprised me is that we went to the same school at the same year, but in different sections. He has told me before that he knows me before this assessment as I used to be the lonely person in the school and everyone knows me as a Lone Wolf.

Jack and Tariq comes to us within fifteen minutes and are surprised to see the Tree or Wonder with no Fruits of Wonder, but didn't question me regarding it as it will be violating the rule 'Finders Keepers'.

Jack closely checked frozen Vimal and said he is undergoing the changes from the Fruit of Wonder evolving his body in the cellular level which happens when someone consumes it. He also said it will take about three or five hours to complete as it is from a low grade dungeon.

Vimal should come back to normal after that with the enhancements from the Fruit of Wonder which make me feel revealed as it will be hard for the Obsidian Order to inform his parents and five siblings about his death inside a dungeon in the name of assessment.

Tariq and I grab Vimal by his head and legs to carry him inside the forest so the others will not know about this and he will be safe from their prying eyes while undergoing the enhancements.

We only had to wait for four hours before Vimal's body unfreezes and he comes back to normal. He says he feels more stronger and energetic than before and wants to try sparing to see how good his enhancements are which is immediately quelled by Jack saying he is still at the usual power-level and feels like this because of his mind telling him he is powerful.

I drag Vimal alone after a few minutes of conversation, I give him the third Fruit of Wonder so he can sell it to help his family to grow financially. He grabs the fruit from my hand with greed in his eyes which make me feel if I have made the right decision, but only the time can tell.

After that, I eat the fruit I plucked from the tree and go into the frozen state like Vimal was. I can feel my body going on a drastic changes in the cellular level as I envisioned, but didn't feel any pain from it. Only now I realized why the body is frozen as this level of changes in the body will kill someone with excruciating pain.

Only my body is frozen, but my mind is not which helps me to realize and understand the changes happening inside my body. I also feel large amount of energy being absorbed by my source which I can't enter right now due to my low constitution.

After three hours, I sense the changes have been completed and I am able to move my fingers with little difficulty as the rest of my body is yet to come of the frozen state for which I have to wait for another hour.

But I am able to move as usual after just over thirty minutes and as I was able to sense the changes happening in my body, I didn't get the sensation of being more powerful than before.

With everything done, I prepare myself to exit the dungeon and prepare myself for the result of the Assessment which I know Jack will not like as I will be failing the assessment. I was only able to fight and kill less than fifty pigmen as the main camp had a lot of pigmen than expected and I had to fight them as we were outnumbered twenty to one.

After exiting the dungeon, Jack activates the Dwelling and we get to shower after a week as we didn't get time to wash our body inside the dungeon as there were no rivers or lakes. I fall on the soft bed in my room and soon deep sleep comes to me which I allowed to takeover me.

I slept for about nine hours without waking up as I wasn't able to sleep peacefully for the past one week. After waking up, I again take a shower to clear the fatigue and drowsiness from my body before going downstairs to have some food.

"Hey Alex, good thing you have come down. I was about to come and wake you up. Looks like you are a sound sleeper." Vimal mocks at me which makes me smile a little, but I change it to seriousness when my eyes met Jack's angry face.

I know he will be shouting at me now if it wasn't for Tariq and Vimal who are sitting beside him in the living room and I am grateful for it. He says I have failed the assessment and will not be a part of the Obsidian Shadow which is going to be a loss of getting benefits from them.

He also says that I will not be able to get missions from the Hunter's Guild due to my 'poor' performance in this assessment and will have to work as a freelancer. He also gives me some suggestions to me on how I can get more contributions as I will not be able to convert it back to credits.

I will consider this as a successfully failed assessment as I have achieved everything I wanted from the dungeon and in addition to it, I have also got the rare chance of consuming the Fruit of Wonder which has changed my entire body and my constitution.

After everyone leaves, I sit on the sofa and open my status to check what are the changes it has.
