Shadows At Dawn: The Siege of the Elven Enchantment 2

'Aren't you done?' Nerida asked. Aerylin was still inside dressing up for the ceremony that was about to commence. Aerylin maybe, she wanted to surprise Nerida, and I know what you might be thinking, where ae the rest of the friends that came to wake Aerylin...

Flash-Back

'I don't think she will come out from here any time soon' Theron said. He was a fire magic elf and used this skill to craft out many tools of weaponry. 'Yeah, I think we should head out besides Nerida is already in there' Althea replied as the friends skedaddled out of her door step.

End of Flash Back

 [Trumpets sound]

'Welcome Aerylin, as she approaches with her royal regalia' Nerida said as she used her water powers to craft out trumpets. 'Wow, a novice and you are already very good at controlling your powers unlike me, who never does anything right' Aerylin replied.

She wore a light blue dress, and diamond shaped earrings, the dress was handless which made her bust to appear in full. 'Don't get started with the moody nonsense again, besides we need to get going before your uncle gets here' Nerida said.

'Damn right, let's go' Aerylin replied following Nerida to the elf congregation that was gathered at the tree of life, the crystal waters. 'The ceremony, has it started?' Nerida asked one of the air controlling elves that stood in front of her.

'Well yes, it's about to start and look, the former guardian is about to come out' the air elf said. 'Liliha?' Nerida asked. 'Yes, it was said that she lost her mark' the air elf said. 'Lost her mark? but a guardian can only loose their mark when the tree of life wants to choose another so why did she loose her mark?' Aerylin asked.

'That no one knows, some say that she lost it because she tried to practice the forbidden magic spell, while some said that she lost it because of the strange illnesses she might have tend to possess' the air elf replied.

'That's enough questions for today, now, I mean, Aerylin let's go to the front, we'll get a better view and a chance to be chosen there' Nerida said. 'Yeah you're right' Aerylin replied as they both went to the front of the crowd.

'Welcome to the Tree of Life protector ceremony, I know you all might all be wondering why the ceremony came this soon but no worries, it is all for good, today we choose a new guardian' the elder elf pronounced.

'Do you hear that?' Aerylin asked Nerida who was standing near her. 'No, hear what?' Nerida asked. 'The dark clouds building up in the skies, don't you see it?' Aerylin replied asking her a direct question. 'Don't worry, the storm will pass, besides we do not need to make a big fuss about all this' Nerida replied.

'No, the dark clouds are not ordinary we need to warn the elder elf to stop the ceremony' Aerylin said. 'No, if we do that, you and I know the penalty for that' Nerida said but Aerylin went on to tell the elder elf, 'Hey over here' she said waving her hands in the air to let the elder elf know it was her.

'...And to... what is it Aerylin?' the elder elf asked stopping the proclamations that he was wanting to say before interrupted by Aerylin who was repeatedly waving her hands in the air. 'Um, we need to stop the ceremony' Aerylin replied as the whole congregation gasped in yonder and started murmuring within each other

The elder elf noticed this and did not like it at all not for one bit. 'Silence!' he exclaimed as those words brought a deafening silence to the entire crowd of elves that were gathered there. 'Why should we stop the ceremony? we have already blessed this day to be the guardian appointment day so why should we change it?' the elder elf asked Aerylin who was moving closer to him moving through the crowd who huddled more and more in front of her like they were trying to stop her from reaching the elder elf.

Soon she reached the front of the crowd and was standing although still looking up to the elder elf, stood in front of him. 'There are storms building up in the sky and they do not mean well trust me' Aerylin said.

'You are not at all good at controlling your powers and here you tell me that the clouds building up in the sky is not good? please come back when you have fully learnt to control your powers maybe then we will believe AND trust you' the elder elf said to Aerylin.

'You need to understand that, I have studied these clouds for many moons now and they seem to appear in orders of five-seven-and nine, I do not know what that means at all but I smell danger' Aerylin said.

'You could not even smell the portik Raju flower from your backyard and here you tell us you smell danger that does not even exist?' one of the fire bending elves said and burst into laughter. Soon the other elves joined him to laugh at Aerylin.

'Silence!' the elder elf proclaimed once more. 'Aerylin, you need to go to the back of the line to relive yourself of more insults' the elder elf said pointing over to the back where they were. Soon Nerida reached the point were Aerylin was and dragged her towards the back but it was out of the sea of crowds unto a tiny mushroom were they sat.

Aerylin bent her face unto her laps, she was sobbing. 'I don't understand, what did I say wrong, I mean, I clearly stated all my facts with full detail, so why does everyone seem not to understand what I did wrong' Aerylin said to Nerida.

'It's ok, you did nothing wrong ok, I warned you, I told you about this but you refused to listen, the people will not allow you say anything during this time, they believe that only the guardian can save them and no one else' Nerida replied.

'Me coming to this ceremony was pointless' Aerylin said. It left Nerida speechless and her mind puzzled. 'Pointless, what do you mean?' Nerida asked. 'Me coming to this ceremony just opened up old wounds and even poured uranium onto it' Aerylin replied.

'It's ok, look your Uncle is here' Nerida said, Aerylin looked upward to her uncle who was approaching. 'Aerylin, what was that nonsense you displayed out there?' Lord Shiku asked. 'Just leave me alone, do not make me more furious than I already am' Aerylin replied. 'Oh please, spare me that rubbish, you always make yourself look like the villain, the prey when you know that I am the one being victimized by you and your terrible actions and behaviors towards me' Lord Shiku said. 'Lord Shiku she is angry and tensed already' Nerida said.

'Let me speak some sense into her senseless head, because she had magnesium inside her brain rather than senses' Lord Shiku said then continued 'She always treats me with disrespect, dishonor and nasty attitudes, I get it, she had youthful exuberance but she should learn to control it, I promised to help her find her inner powers and she's here claiming to know-it-all, look at the big insults that were rendered to her out there and tell me if anyone related to her would stay there and allow her being treated the way she was treated out there' Lord Shiku ended taking a deep breathe trying to calm down. There was silence between the three at that moment.

'Lord Shiku, we understand, please you need to leave before things get out of hand' Nerida said gently when Aerylin finally stood up from the mushroom she was seating on. 'I get it, you need respect from me, I will accord you respect by respectively telling you to leave me alone, I don't need your help in my life, stop following me, I do not need you!, Nerida I'm going home, if you need me, I'm at home' Aerylin said almost leaving.

'Wait' Nerida said holding her shoulder then continued 'I'll come with you' she said. Aerylin held Nerida's hand that was on her shoulder and said 'No, you do not need to follow me to my house, besides you dreamt of this day all your life and you know that it comes once in a life-time, please I will not like it if because of me your best friend to miss it, stay back and who knows you might be chosen as the next guardian' Aerylin said.

'No, I need to be with you at this critical time of your life, please, I need to come with you, please' Nerida said. Lord Shiku's presence was like that of a ghost as the two friends did not notice her presence.

He left because he had nothing more to say, he was not ready for another out burst neither was he ready to go down that lane with her.
