Aerylin was held hostage in her own house, she did not know what to do as her Uncle, Lord Shiku who she had thought might have changed for good actually stabbed her in the back.
Aerylin was tied to the chair Lord Shiku was sitting on earlier, she was tied with old vines on her hands and feet.
'Why did you do this?' Aerylin asked looking at Lord Shiku passionately hurt. He was feeling bad for her but shook off the nasty feeling from his emotions. 'Do what?' he asked back plain and simple. 'I was beginning to trust you' Aerylin replied. Lord Shiku laughed at her naïve nature. He did not want to hurt her but he had to do as he was told. 'You have such an innocent brain which people can use to manipulate themselves into' Lord Shiku said. He was standing by the bed while the soldiers were gathered all around the house.
Aerylin wondered how they got there so fast, she kept silent but a thousand thoughts raced through her mind. Lord Shiku was laughing at her silently when he stopped for some reason. His face was puzzled like he was up to something. 'Are you thinking how they got here so fast?' Lord Shiku asked.
Aerylin took up her face and her mouth opened wide but no words came out, she was shocked, stunned and confused at the same time. She did not believe her ears. 'I don't understand, only Nerida and I could send such signals how did he read my mind, I thought I kept him out throughout our conversations?' Aerylin asked herself while she muttered quietly.
'Dear, you keep on making and missing this point, Nerida is a water elf, I am an ice elf, I can also send those signals, and the part where you said you kept me out of your mind, sorry it was the other way round, I kept you out of mine, you see to run this world you need to be as smart as me, if not you loose' Lord Shiku said.
'How did you know I was communicating with Nerida?' Aerylin asked Lord Shiku. 'Well...' Lord Shiku said as they all went to a brief flash-back....
FLASH-BACK
'While you were talking and talking to Nerida through your mind of course, I read it and I heard her telling you that I was up to no good so, I contacted the soldiers that were on standby to head to your house and stay guard in case you tried to run or try anything, you know, stupid, when you decided to listen to her, I told them to proceed with what they were trained to do best, then they inva.... sorry or should I say came into your hose as visitors they are' Lord Shiku explained.
END OF FLASH-BACK
'So whatever plan you carried out, I was always one step ahead of you, and let's not forget your comrade in crime, bring her in' Lord Shiku said as he commanded the soldiers t bring Nerida in.
Nerida was brought in, she was tied behind her back and she was pushed into the house. 'Nerida!!' Aerylin exclaimed. Nerida was panting like she was running away from a lion or a wild animal of some sort. Nerida looked up and said 'I'm sorry' then she bent down nd faced her forehead to the floor.
'You see, we knew that you and Nerida where up to something when you both suddenly broke up you friendship, we knew you both were up to no good but in this case I would rather say, up to no bad, the biggest mistake that Nerida made was undermining the mind reader elf that was with her. She never knew the reason why the mind reader elf was standing near her, he was there to track ay signals she would send out to anyone out there and then he found that you were sending signals to Aerylin over here who was also so stupid not to have chased me away the minute I came in, well, Nerida here, I will congratulate her for some reason and I will also curse her for greater reasons. Nerida sent multiple signals to you freely forgetting to camouflage her mind thoroughly before sending such signals, we tracked the signals and found out what to do to get you, so with all that said, I would really like to say a big thank you to Nerida for sending such eradicating, pave way maker signals, it really helped us a lot' Lord Shiku said stepping aside for the elder elf who wanted to say a piece of his mind to.
'Nerida, I loved you like a daughter but you turned around and stabbed me in the back just like your mother, I thought you would be different from your mother and siblings but I was wrong, you are worst than them. Well sorry to say this but I really hated your mother, she was a bad companion for your father, your father deserved more, he deserved better, I tried to tell him to marry my sister but he bluntly refused because of your mother. I did not know what he saw in her that he could not possibly find in my sister' the elder elf said.
'Elder, I thought you were the good guy, all this while we al have been living a lie' Aerylin said. 'Oh shut up, I have not entered your case bubble yet, but anyways, back to you Nerida' the elder elf said and paused.
In a moment profoundly laden with emotional complexity, Lord Shiku, with an intensity that bespoke the gravity of his request, turned to Nerida and articulated a demand that would not only impact her identity but also resonate deeply within the fabric of familial bonds: "I need you to renounce on your father's grave that you are no longer from his lineage and also convince your siblings to do so as well." This pronouncement, steeped in both authority and an unsettling finality, imposed upon Nerida the burdensome task of severing ties with her heritage, a lineage that had undoubtedly shaped her very existence. Lord Shiku's words echoed with the weight of tradition and expectation, drawing forth the necessity of persuading her siblings to undertake a similar renunciation, thereby fracturing the sanctity of their shared past. The request was not merely an abstraction; it demanded that Nerida confront the emotional upheaval that accompanies such a profound disavowal, transforming the solace of ancestral connection into a poignant and haunting farewell that threatened to alter the course of their lives irrevocably. Thus, as she stood on the precipice of this life-altering decision, an intricate tapestry of loyalty, identity, and familial duty unfurled before her, compelling her to navigate the treacherous waters of allegiance to both her father's memory and the irrepressible call of her own evolving self.
Nerida, standing at the precipice of a dilemma that weighed heavily upon her conscience, was acutely aware that compliance with the elder elf's demands would require a sacrifice far beyond her current capacity and understanding. The elder, with their centuries of experience and a wisdom that often bordered on the arcane, had articulated a task that, while undoubtedly noble in intent, seemed insurmountable to her youthful spirit and burgeoning aspirations. Deep within her heart, Nerida recognized the gravity of the responsibility being laid at her feet; it was not merely a matter of fulfilling a duty, but rather an undertaking that would irrevocably alter the trajectory of her existence and those intertwined with her fate. Thus, she found herself grappling with a profound internal conflict, as the elder's voice echoed in her mind, urging her to embrace a path that felt fraught with peril and laden with expectations she felt ill-equipped to meet. In this moment of reflection, Nerida understood that the true essence of her being was intertwined with her ability to forge her own destiny, even if such a choice meant defying the wishes of a respected elder, ultimately leading her to the realization that the pursuit of her individuality and understanding was a pursuit worthy of risk, even in the face of the daunting pressures of tradition and duty.
Aerylin, ever perceptive and deeply attuned to the subtleties of her surroundings, was acutely aware that the forthcoming discourse between the elder elf and Nerida would veer into treacherous territory, laden with implications that would inevitably shape her own destiny. As she observed the ebb and flow of their dialogue, a profound sense of foreboding enveloped her; she could almost discern the intricate threads of fate weaving themselves into a tapestry that would, within its very fabric, delineate her future. The elder elf, possessing an unwavering authority tempered by centuries of wisdom, and Nerida, with her spirited yet cautious demeanor, were engaging in a delicate negotiation that extended well beyond mere words. Aerylin understood that their conversation, steeped in the complex history of their kin and the pressing challenges that loomed on the horizon, would culminate in decisions of significant consequence. Thus, Aerylin, while present in body, felt an intangible pull away from the immediacy of the moment, as if she were both a participant in and a spectator of a greater cosmic play, one in which her role was not merely passive but intricately linked to the destinies being forged in the crucible of their interaction. In that moment of crystal clarity, she foresaw that whatever choices were made in this critical juncture would not only influence the immediate circumstances surrounding her existence but would indeed reverberate throughout the annals of her lineage, echoing down the corridors of time and shaping the very essence of her future.
