The car pulled up to the grand entrance of the Han family estate, the imposing building looming over them, its façade elegant and cold, much like the people inside. Mingwa's stomach twisted with a familiar sense of dread. She had been here countless times before, but every visit felt like a new battle to prove her worth—one she always lost.

Taewoo turned off the engine and looked over at her. His expression was calm, unreadable, but there was an almost predatory gleam in his eyes that made her feel even more uneasy.

"Ready?" he asked, his voice low, as if sensing her nerves.

Mingwa forced a small nod, her throat tight. "As ready as I'll ever be."

"Good," he said, his smirk returning as he stepped out of the car and walked around to open her door.
