The sun was setting outside, casting an orange hue that danced across the walls, but the atmosphere inside felt cold and suffocating.

"Mingwa," he said, his voice smooth but edged with authority. "I hope you've had time to think."

She stood frozen, her suitcase clutched tightly in her hands. "I didn't ask for this," she replied, trying to keep her voice steady.

"Didn't you? You ran away from everything, did you think that would be enough to escape from my grasp," Taewoo replied, taking a few steps toward her. His expression was unreadable, but there was a glint in his eye that made her uneasy. "You think you can just leave without consequences?"
