Chapter 18: Departure

Raijin island

Area 1: Kiado vs Zephyr

As Kaido and Zephyr clashed, the force of their impact was tremendous. The very ground beneath them shattered, cracks spreading out like jagged veins across the landscape. Above them, the brewing storm intensified, thunder roaring as if echoing the immense power of the two combatants. Though Zephyr was formidable, Kaido's overwhelming strength, coupled with his monstrous physique, the might of his great-graded naginata, and the sheer will of his Conqueror's Haki, gave him the upper hand.

With a powerful swing, Kaido's naginata broke through Zephyr's Armament Haki, shattering his external defense. The blade pierced Zephyr's arm, cutting deep and revealing the bone beneath the flesh. Blood splattered across the battlefield, the searing pain shooting up Zephyr's arm, but his resolve didn't waver.

Zephyr, realizing he was moments away from losing his arm, made a split-second decision. Instead of retreating, he took a bold step forward, closing the distance between him and Kaido.

With his free arm, he delivered a crushing punch directly to the staff of Kaido's naginata, the force of his strike causing a shockwave that reverberated through the air.

The sudden impact jarred the weapon from embedding any further, preventing the devastating injury from becoming worse. Though the pain was immense, Zephyr had saved himself from literally becoming a 'black arm,' narrowly avoiding the loss of his limb. His breath was heavy, but his eyes remained focused, a testament to his tenacity and unyieldingspirit.

Kaido grinned through the clash. "Worororo! Not bad, old man. But you're not getting off that easily!" he said, his voice booming with excitement as the battle raged on.

As Kaido swung his weapon once more with terrifying force, Zephyr braced himself, activating Iron Body (Tekkai), one of the Six Powers techniques, to harden his body and take a defensive stance. Despite his efforts and resilience, the damage from the previous blow still weighed heavily on him. The impact sent Zephyr flying across the island, crashing through trees and rocks as the ground trembled beneath him.

Watching Zephyr soar into the distance, Kaido let out a booming laugh. "Worororo! I guess the old man wasn't lying—he's still got some fight in him after all! Not old enough to break just yet. Worororoworororo!"

Kaido stood tall, amused by the strength of his opponent, but also aware that the battle was leaning heavily in his favor. He swung his naginata over his shoulder, eyes scanning the horizon as the storm continued to rage around them, a reflection of the chaotic battle that had just unfolded.

Area 2: Akainu V/S King and Queen, Flashback End:

With renewed determination, King charged Akainu. "Magma bastard, why don't you try fighting someone your size?"

"BwoooomKiiiinn!"

King's burning katana create a flying Slash collided with Akainu's magma fist in a massive explosion of force. The impact sent both men flying.

"Boooom! Boooom!"

King crashed through several trees, landing hard on the ground, blood spilling from his mouth. Akainu was sent flying back at least fifty meters. Despite his injuries, King lay unconscious, while Akainu staggered to his feet, you can see little blood dripping from his own wounds on his hand.

Glaring at the two Beast Pirates who had caused him so much trouble, Akainu muttered, "All pirates should die." His face twisted with determination as he raised his hand, prepared to finish King off.

Suddenly, a deep, ominous voice echoed through the battlefield, resonating through the air like a rolling storm.

"Hey... what do you think you're doing?" The voice carried a calm yet terrifying authority. "Let me teach you something about life. Don't do something to someone's subordinate that you wouldn't want happening to yours. Especially if you're not stronger than their boss."

Akainu froze mid-strike, his magma-clad fist inches away from Queen's burning body.

His eyes widened in surprise as he looked around, searching for the source of the voice. Despite his Observation Haki, he hadn't sensed anyone approaching.

Alber and Queen, battered but still conscious, looked toward the sky as well. They knew that voice all too well.

Emerging from the dark clouds above, Kaido descended slowly, his enormous 700 meter long dragon form casting a shadow over the battlefield. His scales crackled with thunder, and his fiery gaze locked onto Akainu with disdain. The very air seemed to grow heavier as Kaido's Conqueror's Haki filled the island, creating a pressure so intense that the earth itself began to tremble.

Akainu gritted his teeth, his confidence shaken for the first time in the battle. "Kaido..."

"Worororo!" Kaido's booming laughter filled the air as he coiled his massive serpentine body in the sky, lightning flashing around him. "You should have known better than to lay a hand on my men."

Without warning, Kaido whipped his colossal tail, infused with Haki and thunder, directly at Akainu. The force of the attack was so great that it tore through the air with a deafening "BANG!"

After Kaido's massive tail struck Akainu, the admiral was sent hurtling across the island, crashing through trees and rocks as a shockwave rippled through the battlefield. The force of the impact left a deep trench in the earth, and Akainu's magma-coated form disappeared into the distance.

Without wasting a second, Kaido turned his attention to his fallen subordinates. Alber and Queen, battered and scorched, were barely holding on. In one swift motion, Kaido grabbed both of them by their collars, hoisting them effortlessly into the air.

"Time to go," Kaido muttered.

With a wave of his hand, Kaido manipulated the storm clouds overhead. Dark thunderous clouds gathered beneath the ship, and with a surge of power, he lifted the entire vessel into the air. The Beast Pirates' ship rose from the battlefield, carried by Kaido's control over the clouds, ascending higher into the sky.

As they soared across the horizon, leaving the island behind, Kaido glanced back at the smoldering battlefield. His voice rumbled with a low, satisfied chuckle.

"Worororo... You're lucky I see Sengoku coming, Akainu. Next time, you won't be so fortunate."

With that, the ship flew into the storm clouds, disappearing beyond the horizon, carried by the power of the Azure dragon.
