Chapter 35: Changing Destiny

As Kaido infused his Conqueror's Haki into his Axe, Oden saw the weapon crackling with black lightning. His mind raced back to the moves of Whitebeard and Roger.

" Conqueror coating! " he thought, his face turning serious but determined. He took his stance and rushed towards Kaido.

Kaido charged at Oden in return. As the sky darkened with their impending clash, Kaido suddenly veered to the right and transformed into his massive dragon form.

'Roar!!'

Oden's blade pierced through Kaido, and he hesitated, puzzled by Kaido's sudden transformation. Just as he felt the shift, he turned around to see Kaido's dragon head biting another person.

Crunch!

---

As Kaido was running towards Oden he thought, 'Heh, even with your superior swordsmanship, I am more powerful. I'll defeat you, and not by relying on others like in the manga. You can't influence my daughter, bastard.'

Before Kaido could fully unleash his rage, a masked figure appear behind Oden. 'You can't take this victory from me, you bastard!'

"Roarrrrr!!!!"

Kaido transformed into his azure dragon beast form, using his length to ensnare the masked attacker. Snap! As he captured the intruder, he felt a sharp pain in his abdomen. 'Damn, Oden didn't hold back. Breaking two destinies in one day isn't possible I guess-this scar was really fate,' he thought. Despite the pain, he refused to let anyone steal his victory.

Kaido hurled the masked person into the air and unleashed a massive fire pillar.

"Hot Breath Attack!"

"Nooooo!" came the masked man's desperate cry as he was engulfed in flames.

'Sizzle!'

Kaido landed back on the ground, returning to his half-dragon form, blood streaming from his abdomen.

Oden, shocked, asked, "Why did you save me?"

Kaido replied, "Heh, make no mistake. I didn't save you. I just don't like interference in my fight."

Oden laughed heartily, "Wahahahaha, Kaido, you're a real pirate!"

Kaido responded with a boisterous laugh, "Worororo, staying with Roger has rotted your brain! This isn't piracy- this is 100% me, Dragon Kaido! Come, I can still beat the shit out of you! Worororo! "

Oden grinned, "Wahahahaha, I trust you won't tell anyone about Wano's secret."

Kaido huffed, "I don't need to tell you what I do. Hmph!"

Oden chuckled, "Wahahahaha, I trust you won't tell anyone. Wahahahaha! "

"You bastard!" Kaido roared as he unleashed Conqueror's Haki, rushing towards Oden with a fierce determination.

"Wooooommm!"

Oden also took his stance, readying himself. "Oden Two-Sword Style: Paradise Waterfall!"

"Shingggggg!"

Kaido countered with a powerful move, "Thunder Eight Trigrams!"

Their clash created a massive impact that shook the entire island.

"Boommmm! Crackkkk!"

Seeing Oden was sent flying into the distance.

Kaido laughed triumphantly, "Worororo, I won! Take that, Oden! I said I don't need to tell anyone about what I do!" Worororo!"

As Oden's nine retainers saw their master being defeated, they rushed towards him with urgency.

Kaido's crew also approached him, gathering around. "Captain, what should we do with these people?"

Kaido responded with a huff, "Hmph, let's capture them and demand a ransom from his father for their release."

"Captain, you mean kidnapping?"

"Huh? What's the problem with that?"

"Uh, no, no, I was just saying stupid things. Let's get the money," the crew member stammered. As everyone under Kaido's glare shouted and cheered, King approached Kaido's side. "Captain, is he really that valuable that you have to handle it yourself?"

Kaido snorted, "He's worth nothing, but his father is the best swordsmiths I know. Collect all the best materials we have. Let's upgrade our weapons. Worororo!"

---

The grand gates of the Shogun's palace in Wano creaked open as Kaido, towering form, strode forward. His eyes gleamed with intensity as he approached the throne of Shogun Kozuki Sukiyaki, Oden's father. The room fell silent as Kaido's presence filled the space.

"Long time no see, Shogun," Kaido growled, his voice deep and menacing, "I have your son, Oden. If you want him back, I demand that you remake my weapon."

Sukiyaki's face turned pale as he processed Kaido's words. His hands trembled slightly, but he steeled himself. "My son... kidnapped by you?" His voice wavered with both fear and concern.

Kaido smirked, crossing his arms. "That's right. If you want him back in one piece, I need the finest weapon you can forge—nothing less."

The Shogun hesitated, his heart heavy with worry. "I... I must see Oden first. Only then will I agree to make the weapon."

Kaido's eyes narrowed for a moment before he grinned. "Fine. You can see him. But make no mistake—you will forge the weapon I demand!"

Later, inside a dimly lit chamber, Oden, battered but still defiant, was brought before his father. Sukiyaki's eyes filled with relief as he saw his son, but also sorrow at the condition he was in. Oden smiled weakly, showing he still had fight left in him.

"I'm fine, father," Oden said, his voice strong despite the pain. "Do what Kaido asks. It's the only way."

Sukiyaki nodded, his fear transforming into resolve. After hearing the full story of the battle from Oden, Sukiyaki also had a hint of relieve, turned to Kaido. "I'll do it. I'll remake your weapon."

---

Days later, in the heart of the Shogun's private forge, sparks flew as Sukiyaki hammered away at a massive Axe, the weapon slowly taking shape.

Kaido watched closely, infusing his Conqueror's Haki into the weapon as the forging process continued.

With each strike of the hammer, black lightning crackled around the weapon, the essence of Kaido's Haki embedding itself into the blade.

"Shing! Crackle!"

Sukiyaki, beads of sweat dripping down his forehead, spoke between strikes. "This... will be one of my finest works, Kaido."

As the weapon neared completion, Kaido placed his hands on it, pouring even more of his Conqueror's Haki into the Axe. The room shook with the sheer force of it, and the blade began to hum with raw power.

When Sukiyaki finished, he stepped back, his hands trembling from the effort. He gazed at the weapon in awe. "This... this is one of my greatest works."

He looked up at Kaido and smiled. "If Enma was the pinnacle of Armament Haki, then this weapon... is the pinnacle of Conqueror's Haki. To anyone without Conqueror's Haki, it will be just an ordinary weapon. But in the hands of someone like you, Kaido... it will be a mighty force."

Sukiyaki's eyes met Kaido's. "How powerful it becomes will depend on you. You must always infuse your Haki into this weapon to eventually turn it into a black blade."

Kaido took the Axe, feeling the weight of both the weapon and Sukiyaki's words. As he swung it, black lightning crackled around the blade, and Kaido grinned.

*Crackle!*

"Worororo... This will do nicely. I'll forge my path to the top with this!"
