Imperial Capital

"Whoa! Who's she? She looks so stunning."

"Right, she's absolutely gorgeous! She's probably some high-ranking noble."

"But we've never seen her. Is she from the main continent?"

"There aren't any guards with her, though, unlike other nobles."

The bustling imperial capital of Nulliana was brimming with merchants, artisans, and commoners going about their day, but in that moment, all eyes turned to a single figure—a gorgeous woman walking through the crowded streets.

Malenia, wearing luxurious attire, looked every bit a noble of the highest category. Her dress, a striking blend of crimson and gold, shone in the sunlight and waved with every step she took.

She captivated everyone's attention.

She could hear whispers from the crowd around her thanks to her heightened hearing.

She didn't mind them at all; in fact, she was glad. The more attention she attracted, the quicker word about her would spread, making it easier for her plans to succeed.

Malenia hadn't come to the capital for nothing; she had a purpose. She was going to the only official adventurer's guild in the Nulliana Kingdom to register as an adventurer herself.

She needed to do this for two reasons: to find a goblin habitat as an adventurer for her Plan A, and, if she was lucky, to attract the attention of the kingdom's general for her Plan B. Meeting him could possibly help keep her dungeon safe.

To aid in this, she had asked Dante for more appropriate attire, as her system only had revealing, lewd clothes in its shop.

Thus, Dante, who didn't know much about female attire, ordered Sarah to select the best dresses from her collection...

Malenia walked gracefully, enchanting those around her; many mistook her for a noblewoman from the main human continent, as they had never seen or heard of her.

She had one month to prepare for the upcoming expedition, and she wanted to prepare for both of her plans in case one of them failed.

So, Malenia continued her path down the streets of the capital to reach the adventurer's guild.

Upon reaching the adventurer's guild, Malenia gazed at the enormous building in front of her.

It was as huge as a skyscraper on Earth, making her wonder how people in this world built such a structure, given that it was similar to the medieval age with carriages instead of mechanical vehicles.

Stepping into the building, Malenia was shocked as she saw several people of different races inside.

There were people with animal features, and some people who didn't look like humans at all.

She was shocked because she hadn't seen any non-humans outside of the guild, as the entire street was filled with humans only.

'Did other races come to a human kingdom to become adventurers? But why couldn't they become one in their own territory?' Malenia wondered.

Was it because of the economy, like on Earth, where people migrate to different countries for a better life?

She couldn't understand, as she didn't know the current situation of this world, nor did she have time to figure it out.

So, putting aside that thought, she walked up to the counter, where a receptionist—a woman with dog features—waited.

The receptionist turned to face Malenia. Looking at her, she couldn't believe how someone could look so graceful and sexy at the same time.

But as a professional, she kept a straight face. "Welcome, esteemed noblewoman! It is a great honor to have you visit our guild. How may I assist you?" She greeted Malenia, thinking of her as a noblewoman. She wasn't to blame, as Malenia did look like one without a doubt.

"Oh, you've got it wrong—I'm no noblewoman. No need for the formalities," Malenia clarified with a small smile, knowing that pretending to be noble could lead to serious trouble if anyone found out.

The receptionist blinked in surprise but quickly nodded. "Ah, I see. How may I assist you, then?"

"I want to register as an adventurer. Can you help with that?" Malenia asked, noticing a few curious glances turning her way.

For a woman as beautiful as her to choose the life of an adventurer was rare. She could easily marry a rich man and live in comfort, but here she was, wanting to take on dangerous work.

The people around her admired her bravery. Becoming an adventurer wasn't usually something people chose unless they had no other options. To make enough money, most had to hunt powerful, dangerous monsters, as weaker ones didn't provide enough for basic expenses.

Sometimes, lucky adventurers might get a safer job, like escorting a noble, but that was rare. For most, the job came with real risks and the constant threat of death.

"Ah, yes, I can. Please tell me your elemental affinity, power rank, and specialty," the receptionist replied, surprised by her goal.

Malenia, hearing her, didn't panic, as she had known about the requirements and prepared for them beforehand.

"Affinity: none. Rank: F, and specialty: support," Malenia said, though her real specialty was breeding—she couldn't say that.

"Oh, a newbie," the receptionist muttered as she noted the details. After completing it, she continued, "Okay, now tell me your name, age, and place of birth."

Malenia nodded as she provided the information. She had used a remote village in the territory of Baron Rick as her birthplace and even got the papers done with Rick's help.

After the receptionist finished writing everything, she asked Malenia to come to a separate room, where she took out a device from one of the closets. The device looked like a glassy ball.

"Put your hands on it. It's for confirming your power rank."

Malenia complied and placed her hands on it. The color of the mirror changed as some letters appeared on it.

[RANK- F ]

"Good, everything is done. You will have to wait for some time in the lobby until I create the adventurer identification card for you," the receptionist stated.

So Malenia went back to the lobby and sat at one of the vacant tables.
