**The Pure Land.**
The Sage of Six Paths, holding his tin staff, sat in the sky like a sculpture, asleep.
This was a crevice in time, a resting place for all things. The entire world resembled a dead sea, as if everything had come to a halt.
Here, time and space seemed to exist only as concepts. Everything in this small world was subject to the Sage of Six Paths' will.
This strongest deity of the ninja world was startled by a presence that had caught his attention, awakening from his slumber.
The Sage of Six Paths slightly opened his eyes, causing subtle ripples in the previously still Pure Land, as if to welcome his awakening.
"Another greedy human seeking to touch the Box of Ultimate Bliss? I wonder which unfortunate soul it is this time."
The Sage sighed lightly. His every awakening indicated an event in the ninja world that required his attention, consuming his accumulated strength.
"Human nature is truly unpredictable. Where does the path to peace lie? Even the treasured tools I created are shrouded in human negativity, transforming into vessels of monsters."
Although now filled with evil and obscure energy, the Box of Ultimate Bliss was once a box of hope that the Sage of Six Paths had high hopes for, a tool to resolve the conflicts between Ashura and Indra.
A thousand years ago, his eldest son, Indra, and his younger son, Ashura, had a significant disagreement over the concept of peace. To claim the inheritance of the Ninja Sect and establish their beliefs in the ninja world, the two fought fiercely.
Indra believed only strength could end chaos, seeking to rule the ninja world with absolute force. Ashura believed only love and understanding could bring true peace.
Unfortunately, Ashura, whom the Sage favored, could not triumph over the gifted Indra and was clearly at a disadvantage in their duel. The biased Sage had to intervene personally, granting Ashura power that wasn't his, allowing him to defeat Indra and inherit the Ninja Sect.
However, this led to Indra's deep dissatisfaction, causing his chakra to reincarnate continuously, trying to prove himself. Ashura, to stop him, also chose to reincarnate, and their conflict has persisted for nearly a thousand years without resolution.
The Sage of Six Paths refrained from intervening in his sons' battles, partly because he was hidden in the Pure Land, conserving his strength for the worst-case scenario. Ashura's inheritance of the Ninja Sect hadn't brought peace; conflicts and killings had intensified, causing factions to split and fight within the sect.
The Sage intended to use the Box of Ultimate Bliss to absorb all negative emotions in the ninja world, eliminating the violent desires in people's hearts to indirectly achieve peace.
But things didn't go as planned. After establishing the Pure Land, he couldn't control the Box of Ultimate Bliss, which absorbed the world's endless negativity, eventually birthing a sentient being, "Wu."
This malevolent creature, born of human wickedness, had no concept of peace. Its constant slaughter and consumption of negative emotions increased its power, almost exterminating life in the ninja world.
"The seal on my mother is loosening, and Indra's chakra has not yet returned. The ninja world cannot have any disturbances now."
The Sage lightly waved his staff, causing the Pure Land to undergo drastic changes.
The Pure Land, likened to the Dead Sea, was a metaphor and an accurate depiction of this world. The sea covering the Pure Land peeled away, revealing countless once-formidable ninjas resting beneath it.
Among them were Senju Hashirama, Senju Tobirama, Uchiha Izuna, Uchiha Madara, and numerous strong ninjas from the Warring States period, all sleeping silently like sculptures beneath the Dead Sea.
The Sage surveyed these so-called descendants, nodding slightly. They were his prepared contingencies.
"The last turmoil caused by the Box of Ultimate Bliss was handled by Ashura, but now, Ashura's reincarnation has not yet emerged. However, the Box, without my empowerment, has been sealed by Ashura and can no longer gather much resentment. It shouldn't birth such a powerful creature as before."
Contemplating, the Sage's Rinnegan rippled slightly, his immense ocular power piercing the spatial barrier, revealing a shocking scene.
"Indra, you awakened the Rinnegan? Have your pursuits of power deepened over the centuries?"
The Sage observed Uchiha Madara fighting Hanma, feeling proud, "Indra truly excels in any jutsu. His mastery surpasses mine."
But noticing Hanma also possessing Indra's chakra, he frowned, "Could Indra's chakra have split into two during reincarnation?"
Glancing at the floating Ashura, he shook his head, rejecting this thought.
"Ashura remains whole. Indra would not do this. Perhaps some interesting change occurred while I slept."
Watching Hanma and Uchiha Madara's battle, a hint of interest flashed in the Sage's eyes.
Possessing Indra's chakra made both intriguing to him. Having slept for millennia, the Sage couldn't continually monitor the ninja world's shifts, only observing at crucial moments to prevent major disruptions.
Kaguya warned of many wandering Otsutsuki clansmen in the universe, eventually tracking down the ninja world.
The Sage withdrew the Ten-Tails from himself, splitting it into nine tailed beasts and hiding in the Pure Land to preserve the last spark of the ninja world rather than becoming a prime target.
He desired the ninja world to develop freely, seeking the true path to peace.
As Hanma was sealed into the Box of Ultimate Bliss and Uchiha Madara wished for his youth, the Sage's expression grew serious. An Indra with awakened Rinnegan and no Ashura reincarnation in the world—who could stop him?
Familiar with Indra, knowing he wouldn't spare the Nine-Tails' power, the possibility of summoning the Ten-Tails and freeing his mother loomed.
"An Indra obsessed with power and an Ashura yet to reincarnate."
The Sage, rarely solemn, felt this was the greatest danger in millennia.
Without a reincarnation on his side, no vessel for his power existed. If Kaguya broke free, centuries of effort would be ruined.
But with Hanma dragging Madara into the Box, the Sage's serious expression relaxed slightly. "After centuries, the ninja world has indeed grown, producing ninjas capable of contending with the Rinnegan."
Glancing at Senju Hashirama, this reincarnation of Ashura left a deep impression, surpassing the original's power, affirming the Sage's plans for the ninja world. Its free development birthed powerful ninjas and jutsus, fortifying against the Otsutsuki clan.
"Mother, if you saw these exceptional ninjas, would you regret your intent to turn all life into servants of the Divine Tree? What a foolish decision."
The Sage sighed, a nostalgic look flashing as he thought of his mother. Closing his eyes, the Dead Sea of the Pure Land sealed again, returning to silence.
His keen insight revealed that without the Box's power, Indra's current reincarnation neared life's end, maintaining the status quo in his plan.
Regarding Hanma's slight Indra chakra, it piqued minor interest but held less importance against an awakened Rinnegan Indra, seen as mere side events in the ninja world.
