"Yer absolutely crazy, mate! Ye came in barging, talkin', and doin' like ye owned the place. If I had a son, I'd wish he'd be just like ye—full o' fire and guts!" Sean yelled out along with the whole bar.
"This kid actually won!"
"This a man, not a kid! Being able to drink all them Rustic refreshers and stay awake!"
"Sh*t, I should've bet on him! My money!"
"Wake the f*ck up John Carney, return my money!"
"Seth, my man, every time you come into this bar and if I'm here I'll buy you a drink!"
All the people in the bar were yelling crazily.
Some praised Seth's ability to drink, some cursed him, some cursed John Carney, some impressed, and some entertained.
At this moment Seth yelled out.
"The night is just beginning gentleman! All drinks on me!"
Although before this many were cursing Seth for making them lose their money, after this, everyone was praising Seth for being a crazy but kind young gentleman.
"This guy is bat-sh*t crazy!"
"The night is just beginning? If you say so!"
Everyone in the bar was yelling excited even the bartender was praising Seth.
The money Seth won was enough to cover all the drinks the gentleman in The Tipsy Trophy.
The music was playing, some people were drinking, some were dancing, some were singing, some were still praising Seth, and some who won the bets bought drinks for all taking inspiration from Seth.
Everyone was happy and thrilled to be in The Tipsy Trophy but the happiest was Seth, he created this situation, and even though he was transmigrated into this world yesterday he felt like he could get used to such life.
Shortly John Carney woke up and approached Seth.
"Heh, you've got guts and a real knack for handling those drinks, kid— here's your share of the money."
Drunk Seth who was dancing and singing along with Sean and another man yelled. "No need John, just give it to the bartender, and tell him to keep the drinks coming"
"You're insane but alright" John Carney didn't try to convince Seth otherwise and gave the money to the bartender. "Keep the drinks rolling."
The bartender happily took the money and started to make more drinks.
…
After having plenty of fun and drinks Sean and Seth left the bar together
In an empty street, Sean and Seth were walking and talking.
"Kid, do ye got a spot to crash? If not, ye can bunk at my place, no problem." Sean said
"I do, but it's far" Seth answered.
"Eh, where do ye live? I'll take ye to my place, No need to waste time here. Or do ye got a lass waitin'? Bein' like this, it's the best time to spend some time with yer woman." Sean winked at him.
"Nah, I live alone. Old man… let me crash at your place today, I can't bother you to take me to my place" Seth requested. Sean laughed. "Alright, kid, my place we go it is. Let's not dawdle—got a cozy spot waitin' for us!"
Seth laughed along with him. "Pause, old man."
"Huh? What's the matter, kid? Ye finally feelin' sick or somethin'?" Sean replied.
"No, no it's nothing, lets just go"
…
In the morning of Uiseann Webb's house.
'Oh jeez, I really drank a lot yesterday. My head feels like it will pop any moment now.'
Seth woke up in an unfamiliar place, he looked at his surroundings, the couch he was sleeping on was in front of the bed. the room was messy and dirty with various things on the floor. On the right side of the bed, there was the kitchen and the bathroom and on the left side, there was a balcony half the size of the whole house.
As Seth got up from the couch he saw Sean practicing with a long black greatsword and a long dagger on the balcony.
'Woah... didn't know old man Sean was this cool.' As Seth entered the balcony Sean greeted him.
"Good mornin'"
"What are you doing old man?" Seth asked without greeting him back.
"Just practicin' with me sword. When I head back to Fale Gaya, I can't be all rusty now, can I?" Sean replied
"Fale Gaya?" Seth muttered under his breath but Sean still heard it.
"Yep, that's where ye leave and enter this place. Sure, enterin' Caeloria is simple but leavin'? not so much. I guess ye can jump outta anywhere in Caeloria, but good luck survivin'."
Seth was surprised that Sean heard him.
'He doesn't seem to be suspicious by my lack of information… Maybe this isn't something that everyone knows.' Before Seth could ask more Sean said.
"I'm curious, kid—where are ye really from? Ye can speak Caelin without an accent, but ye can't fool me! I know all about water information magic!"
'Sh*t, I forgot that magic might be not as hidden as people depicted it in my world. What do I say to him' Seth started rapidly thinking.
"Heh, you got me— I was just a wandering tramp before I got into this town. I didn't know anything except my name, and then some guy picked me up from the street, taught me Caelin, gave me a place to live, and gave me a job… Well is giving me a job" Seth came up with a hot lie.
"Kid, the number one thing when lyin' is to consider who yer lyin' to—ye won't trick me! Travelin' 'cross the towns alone is somethin' ye wouldn't be able to manage. But fine, if ye don't wanna spill the beans about yerself, just say so! No need to spin a yarn!"
Seth was speechless, his attempt to lie backfired at him.
'Well, I never was used to lying— I will end up in great trouble if I can't come up with good lies.'
Seth tried to spark a conversation but Sean said nonchalantly before him.
"Ey, kid, ye wouldn't know a thing or two about Crown and Canvas, would ye?"
"...That's where I'm starting to work" Seth was shocked that Sean would ask about Crown and Canvas, He was going to lie but knowing that it wasn't easy to fool Sean he answered honestly.
Sean stopped practicing his sword techniques. "What a strange turn of events." He cast a cold gaze upon Seth and said firmly."Kid, listen to me and listen well—Crown and Canvas ain't no simple place! I don't know much meself, but heed this: be careful 'round folks there. Though yer looks are somethin' special, it ain't the only thing about ye that's unique. Watch yer back and keep yer wits about ye!"
Seth couldn't contain his shock. He did think that the people in Crown and Canvas were indeed weird and thought that Crown and Canvas was no ordinary place but hearing this from another person who was always unserious and outgoing shocked him greatly.
'What? I thought the same too… wait… the only thing about me unique isn't my looks?' Seth was thinking as he asked.
"What else do I have that's unique? And how do you know?"
"Those eyes o' yours—ye've got what's called a 'Trait' in the world of mystics! Any seasoned mystic worth their salt would spot that right away!"
Seth stepped back trying to form a distance between him and the armed Sean.
"A trait? Mystics? Could you elaborate?" Seth questioned.
"Kid—here's the thing. I can tell ye everything, but it won't do ye any good; in fact, it'll only make things worse. The more ye know, the easier it'll be for trouble to find ye. Instead, I can give ye the opportunity to learn about it yerself."
Seth chuckled. "What's the catch?"
Sean smiled as he spoke. "Yer a sharp one, kid—never had a doubt. Here's the catch: ye gotta give me the lowdown on Crown and Canvas. What do they do, who do they serve, and what are they coverin' up?"
"But why do you want to find out? Why do you trust me? And you said it yourself, they might actually be after my Trait. How do I defend against them?" Seth inquired.
"Heh No can say, kid. 'Bout yer Trait, yer a clever one—ye'll manage a few mystics with just yer wits! I trust ye'll come through. Dig up somethin' worthwhile, and I'll reward ye with somethin' real good. Deal? Ye can think it over for a bit if ye like. Ye know where to find me…" Sean continued practicing signifying that the conversation was over.
…
Seth left Sean's house and got in a public carriage. He got some spare change from Sean since Crown and Canvas was very far he needed to get on a carriage.
As he sat down he thought
'Wow, mystics? Traits? That's a lot of information to take in at once. Essentially I'm going to work for old man Sean as a spy in Crown and Canvas if I take his offer. Aw man, I really don't want to get entangled in supernatural affairs but I don't think I have many choices. Right as I spawned in this world I got approached by a mystic organization who possibly wants my trait. And then I met a so-called mystic who wanted me to work as a spy in this organization. What kind of fate did I inherit coming into this world? This is mad!' Seth was thinking about whether he should accept old man Sean's job offer.
'I don't know man. Right from the start I had fishy feelings about Crown and Canvas, maybe most people working there might not be mystics or people of strange backgrounds but Sean implied that Crown and Canvas were covering something up. Models might not know things but their supervisors… Yeah, Sasha is no simple character… wait Sasha said that I'm free to do whatever I want until Monday… I'm supposed to be learning Caelin! So how and why did she free me? This can't be a simple slip-up! Maybe with that, she implied that she knows that I learned Caelin… Also, the fact that Lina was there— Yeah this can't be a simple slip-up.'
…
In the hallway of Crown and Canvas fourth floor.
"Brahm, Where is Seth? I'm supposed to continue teaching him Caelin." Lina asked agitated.
"He isn't in his room?" Brahm replied.
"Yeah, he is in his room that's why I asked you where he is…" Lina yelled out "Of course he isn't in his room! Why else would I ask his whereabouts?"
Right as Brahm was about to retort Sasha's voice was heard.
"It's because of me. I told him that he was free to do whatever he wanted until Monday. "
"Oh… what's the reason for that ma'am Sasha." Lina's tone changed immediately.
"He already fully knows Caelin— Therefore he doesn't need any more Caelin classes." Sasha spoke expressionlessly
"So it's confirmed that he has a trait? But Sasha wouldn't he catch on the fact that we know?" Brahm questioned.
"Yes, he does have a trait. I've already deduced that it's "Sun eyes". I'm calling off our scheme, Sun eyes holders are intelligent and are always wary of their surroundings— Also we don't have a trait master in Caeloria. Yeah, we might be able to trick him into setting up the ritual but still not get his eyes. The risks far outweigh the benefits. It's better to raise him as a powerful mystic." Sasha stated
Lina snapped. "What do you mean the risks far outweigh the benefits?! My master needs a trait! How could a normal person outsmart three mystics!" Lina continued to blabber.
Sasha was quietly staring at Lina when she abruptly stopped talking.
An incredible amount of pressure invaded the area, The windows were open, and the birds were chirping, but no sound came from their beaks.. Suddenly Sasha spoke.
"First of all, you are overestimating us. Although we are powerful we are not all-powerful, or all-knowing. Mystics have weaknesses too and they can be overcome by regular humans if they try hard enough. Second of all the person we are trying to trick has sun eyes, he is no regular human and may be able to see through our scheme. Third of all, if Nico is so desperate for a trait tell him to go obtain it himself... I'm afraid I spoke enough— if you think just talking isn't enough to make you understand I'll use other methods to get it through your head, nod if you want further explanation."
Lina understood what Sasha meant so she didn't nod.
"That will be all, treat Seth like any other model for now." As Sasha declared she left and the suppressing aura went away.
'Stupid b*tch! If you are not willing then I'll do it myself.' Lina looking at Sasha's back insulted her inwardly.
"… Hey Brahm what do I do now, if Seth knows Caelin what's my job?"
"Wait for him in his room." Brahm scoffed while following his wife's trail.
'Just like his wife… Stupid assh*le'
…
In Seth's room
"Finally you arrived, where have you been Seth?" Lina asked as Seth opened the door to his room.
"Hey, Remember when you said that your master taught people languages in one go? Yeah, I think you are as good as your master…"
