Elio watched Versei who was grovelling at his feet with an amused smirk on his face.
He had thought that perhaps the man had some trump cards up his sleeve, yet it seemed like there was none.
The man had probably thought being one of Lord Hako's over 400 son-in-laws would deter Elio from smacking the shit out of him.
It was a good thing that now the fool had realized his mistake. However, that didn't mean Elio was just going to forgive him.
The man wasn't apologizing because he felt remorse. He was doing it out of survival instinct. Elio didn't need such an apology.
He pulled Mareen closer to him, fished two chicken nuggets from the McLonald's bucket she was holding and threw them on the ground.
"You've been eyeing them like you wanted some," he said, turning his back on Versei. "Eat them. They might be your last. Take him into the dungeon. That should put some sense into him. Only then shall I deal with him."
Those last three sentences were directed at General Maldor.
Hearing them, Master Versei got hysterical. Elio could sense despair in his words as he grabbed Elio's leg and started pleading, "My King, please forgive me! You will have my undying support. I will rally all the lords behind you. No more will they talk of marriage proposals."
Elio looked down on him disdainfully. With a chuckle, he said, "You still think you're that important, don't you? Haha! I don't need your so-called undying support to have the lords behind me. General, I said to throw him in the dungeon."
"Of course, Your Grace!"
As a result, General Maldor glanced at the two knights who had been blocking Master Versei's path.
They bowed slightly to the general before they rushed forward and scooped the bald-headed man into their arms, each grabbing one of the man's arms.
He was still screaming for Elio to forgive him as they dragged him away.
Of course, Elio didn't know about the Blue Monsters being Lord Hako's. He didn't know about Master Versei being able to command them through Lord Hako's sorceress.
He didn't know that Master Versei was planning to order those monsters to come and kill him at night. That he had saved his life by throwing the man into the dungeon… at least for now.
He just knew that the man would have stirred some trouble and brought a foul spirit among the officials if he had gotten a chance to leave the chamber.
That's why he threw him in the dungeon. He didn't want him to go and corrupt some of the officials.
Elio walked toward the bed and sat there. Mareen ran after him and did the same, her face beaming.
"What are these?" she asked, holding the McLonald's bucket in front of him.
The answer came to Elio automatically. "Chicken nuggets from McLonald's."
"They are so delicious," said Mareen, biting a chunk off the one in her hand, "and prepared in a creative way. I didn't know gods know how to cook."
Elio just smiled. The way no one even doubted his lies. But then again, if it was him, even in the modern times, and a person's hands got enveloped in shimmering mist and something he hadn't seen before emerged out of nowhere and the person said it was from God, he doubted he wouldn't believe it.
Even a person not fond of superstition would believe it to some degree.
That's why he decided to keep entertaining his lie. "Of course gods can cook. You think they don't eat? You think they aren't the ones who taught us how to?"
"It's just that I never heard of the god of cooking, or of food," replied Mareen, holding the bucket upside-down to show Elio that there were no more nuggets.
Elio purchased a few more buckets. "Well, now you know," he said.
Elio told the maids to come and have some if they had finished what he had given them before. They all came.
General Maldor, too.
Even the knights who had taken Versei into the dungeon came and grabbed some when they returned.
He purchased some sauces and drinks to accompany the nuggets.
Everyone currently in the chamber had contributed one way or the other in the acquiring of the PPPs Elio had. There was no reason to be greedy about them.
These things didn't even cost that much for him to be concerned that he was overspending.
The talk of the gods and thank yous directed at him and the uhs and ohs of satisfaction echoed around the room as they tasted the sauces and drinks.
While everyone busied themselves with eating, Elio went for a quill and a paper and wrote a response to Laura's earlier letter.
He purchased a gift box and put in a McLonald's bucket and a drink and a sauce.
"Dispatch a horse to Stardret," he told General Maldor as he handed him the box and the letter. "Send one of these knights in here."
"Right away, Your Grace!"
Elio could have waited and given these to Laura himself after he returned to his kingdom, but it wouldn't hit her as hard as this surprise was gonna hit her.
He went back to bed and shared the nuggets with Mareen. When she finally said she was full, Elio ordered everyone out. He was also full and for some reason felt in need of rest.
He felt tired to the bone, which was not so surprising after all the things he had done that morning.
He had fucked the maids, comforted Mareen, turned her into a queen through deflowering, the speech in the City Square, the meeting with officials and the drama with Master Versei.
Sleep would not hurt.
Mareen had a different idea in her mind though.
She edged closer, her eyes lustful. "It's my stomach that's full," she said, biting her lower lip. "Something else is hungry. Thirsty."
'Jeez! Where did her shyness go?'
People change, but Elio had never met one who could change that quickly. She was acting like seduction was an art she had been practicing for thousands of years.
This was a good thing though. After all, wouldn't Elio sleep better if he smashed her first?
He edged toward her, too, and it began.
