**Chapter 11: Permission Granted**

---

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm golden glow over the outskirts of the Forest of Silence, Grey and Glimmer were finishing their preparations for another day of training. Grey's body had continued to evolve, and he could feel the strength coursing through his veins. He was more than ready to continue his journey, but he knew that everything hinged on the decision of the elven queen.

Just as he was contemplating the days ahead, a familiar figure emerged from the dense forest. It was Serena, the female elf from before, her eyes widening as she took in Grey's new appearance.

"Grey?" she asked, her voice tinged with surprise. "You've… grown."

Grey smirked, adjusting his stance. "Yeah, I've been busy. What's the news?"

Serena composed herself before speaking. "I have good news. The Queen has granted you permission to pass through the Forest of Silence."

A wave of relief washed over Grey. "That's fantastic! I'm glad to hear it."

Serena nodded, though her gaze lingered on Grey with a hint of curiosity. "There's one more thing. The Queen has asked me to guide you through the forest until you reach its borders. The forest can be dangerous, and it's best if someone who knows the terrain helps you."

Grey was taken aback. "You're coming with me?"

"Yes," Serena confirmed. "It will take about two weeks to reach the edge of the forest and then another two weeks to get to Lord Swamp, where the lizardmen live. The journey won't be easy."

Grey considered this, knowing that the path ahead would be fraught with challenges. The lizardmen were known for their strength, and navigating their territory would be no small feat. With Serena's guidance, however, he might have a better chance of making it through.

"Thank you, Serena. I really appreciate your help," Grey said sincerely.

Serena offered a small, professional smile. "You're welcome. It's my duty to ensure that travelers are safe, and the forest is particularly treacherous. I'll be guiding you only to the forest's edge. After that, you'll be on your own."

Grey nodded, feeling a sense of determination. "Understood. Let's get going then."

As they set out into the Forest of Silence, Serena led the way, her steps sure and practiced. The dense foliage and towering trees of the forest enveloped them, the air rich with the scent of pine and earth. Serena began to share her knowledge of the forest, warning Grey about potential dangers and pointing out safe paths.

Grey listened intently, aware that every bit of information could be crucial for his survival. With Serena's guidance, the journey through the forest promised to be less perilous than it might have been otherwise. He knew that the road ahead, through the lizardmen's territory and beyond, would be challenging, but he was ready.

With Glimmer by his side and Serena leading the way, Grey felt prepared to face whatever challenges lay ahead. The path to Lord Swamp and beyond was just beginning, and he was determined to see his journey through to its end.
