Anything For You

"Are you really sure you want to do this, honey?"

She looked down onto her bed, where her beautiful peach dress lay. "Do you have a better idea, Daddy?"

"Well, honey you can fool everyone but not me. And I assure you, it's not necessary to attend this wedding to prove a point that you've moved on."

Olivia strolled to the entrance where her father had leaned against the wall. First, she placed a reassuring kiss on his cheek, and then, she pulled him into a warm embrace.

Her voice was low. "I promise you, Daddy, you don't have to overthink this. I'm perfectly fine and I want to attend because I was invited. Besides, I have Dylan. We will go together."

His gaze had softened when she pulled out of the embrace. Her hands rested on either side of his shoulders. "I know you care about me and don't want me to be hurt over and over. I will take care of myself. You have my word."

A weak smile formed across his lips.
