Charlotte was already waiting by the car when Olivia stepped out of the building.
"You look calm," Charlotte said with a smirk as Olivia slid into the back seat.
"Well, I've known him," Olivia replied, entering the car.
Charlotte chuckled as she got in beside her. "That's good. I only know him from the papers and the internet. He's always had that effect—charming, sharp, and just a little too aware of it."
Olivia glanced at her. "Do I look okay?"
Charlotte gave her a once-over and nodded approvingly. "You look beautiful. Effortless, elegant. Just don't let him rattle you."
The driver pulled into traffic, and the women sat in silence for a moment. Olivia stared out the window, watching the buildings blur past.
"Do you think he's still the same?" Olivia asked quietly.
