Chapter 3

The narrator said, "Matthew and his vampire crew were looking around Transylvania for werewolves to kill." Matt was patrolling the streets of Transylvania and used his headset to keep in contact with Chris and Carolyn. While driving around, the police came after him. Matt spoke into his headset and said, "Head Wolf to Tech Bat. Ignitate getaway plan." Chris heard Matt through his walkie-talkie and said, "Time to turn this baby on beast mode." Chris pushed a button on his laptop and expanded it. Then he typed on it, hacked into the street lights, and turned them all green for Matt. Then Matt picked up speed and drove 120 miles per hour through the green lights to get away from the police while they chased him. When Chris saw the police, he pushed the button and turned the lights red again so the police couldn't follow. When Chief Meena saw Matt get away, she couldn't believe it had happened again. After losing the police, Matt saw the coast was clear and said, "The police may be good, but we're so good at being bad."

The narrator said, "Matt then drove himself, Chris, and Carolyn away and returned to their home where their stolen loot was. They also saw that the rest of their crew was still looking for werewolves." Raven, Angelica, and Maddy were flying around as bats. While flying, they didn't see any werewolves, but they did see plenty of dogs. They also didn't see Matt, Carolyn, or Chris anywhere, so they figured they must have returned to their hideout at Dracula's castle. They also saw the police looking around for monsters like them, so they fled and returned home before the police found them.

The narrator said, "Once Raven, Maddy, and Angelica got home, they saw the rest of their crew inside. Raven then turned on the TV they stole and turned on the news to see if they were saying anything about them." Mayor Avery, the mayor of Transylvania, said, "And we've seen vampires on the streets again." Raven said, "Hey guys, they're talking about us." The vampires gathered together and watched the news together. Mayor Avery said, "The police have again missed them, and the vampires seem confident that they're uncatchable. But, of course, underneath those dark capes are just buckets of denial. Chris said, "That's not true." Mayor Avery said, "Self-loathism." Raven said, "The only one I self-loath is you." Mayor Avery said, "Anger." Carolyn crossed her arms, scowled, and threw a jelly donut at the TV. Mayor Avery said, "And those are things more victims or robberies can't ever fix." Matt angrily turned off the TV and said, "Who is she to judge us? Like we care what the mayor thinks." The narrator said, "So the vampires got mad at Mayor Avery and tried to think of a way to prove her wrong. No matter how long it took them. Meanwhile, Megan and Joseph were still settling into their house and were completely unaware of what the vampires were up to."

Two months later, when the moving people arrived with the rest of their stuff, Megan and Joseph decorated the rest of their house with the furniture they had brought. When they finished, they ordered pizza for dinner since they were too tired to cook anything. The narrator said, "The next day, Megan and Joseph went to the Transylvania Theater to catch the vampire show. And when they arrived, they took their seats and watched the performers dressed as vampires perform on stage." They then performed a song on stage and used wires to make themselves fly like real vampires can. When they were done, the audience clapped for them, and when the curtain closed, the audience left the theater.

The narrator said, "A week later, Megan played music and lured Joseph out of his room." Megan then sang the first verse while she walked up to Joseph. Joseph sang the second verse and walked up to Megan. They looked at each other and sang a duet together when they reached where the other stood. While singing, a girl named Anjelica walked by their house and heard them singing together. She thought they sounded so good together that she looked in their window and videotaped them singing together on her iPhone. When the song was over, Megan and Joseph stopped singing and kissed since they were singing a love song. Anjelica then uploaded the video to the internet, and it got over twenty million hits overnight.

The narrator said, "The next day, Joseph walked into town and saw everyone looking at him. Joseph wondered why everyone was looking at him. Then he found out why, when he found a copy of the newspaper, he saw Megan's and his picture on the front page and read the story." Joseph brought the newspaper to his sister, and people kept asking for his autograph on his way home. Once Joseph got home, he showed the newspaper to Megan, who read it aloud. Megan said, "'BROTHER AND SISTER DO DUET. Megan and Joseph Versie sing a duet to the world and kiss to represent their sibling love.' They must love our performance. I wonder how they found out anyway." Joseph looked it up on his computer and said, "Does this answer your question?"

Joseph found their performance on his computer and showed it to Megan. Megan and Joseph then looked at Joseph's laptop and watched themselves sing the song they sang yesterday together. They then kissed in the end. Joseph then read the comments. Joseph said, "'Excellent singers,' 'These two siblings must love each other if they sing together and kiss afterward.', 'These two siblings must love each other because they make a great duet.'" Megan said, "Man, they love us." Joseph said, "Yes, but we were only singing. And that kiss was to end the performance." Megan said, "True." Joseph said, "I'll be in my room." The narrator said, "All day, Joseph worked on a new song for him and Megan to perform while Megan read a book on The Slaying Mask that she checked out of the library." Megan read that he was a notorious jewel thief and vampire slayer, never caught by the Police or any vampire. She read about what The Slaying Mask did and all the places The Slaying Mask robbed. And how, one day, he disappeared from the public and was never seen again.

Once Joseph got his song right, he shut all the windows and blinds so no one would hear them. Megan said, "What's with the lockdown?" Joseph said, "It's just for a minute while I sing you my new song." Joseph sat down on the sofa with Megan, played his guitar, and started to sing. Megan liked it so much that she began to sing with him, and they sounded great together. Megan then sang alone for a minute, and they finished the song when Joseph joined back in. Megan said, "Great song, Joseph." Joseph said, "Thanks. I can't wait to perform it at Bird Karaoke." Megan said, "Bird Karaoke?" Joseph said, "Yeah. They call it that because you can eat and sing like a bird."
