13: feelings.

"so is that understood?" Sed Lisa as she walked in front of Jack, she turned back to him as the strode there way down main Street. Passing Enzo's.

"Tomorrow after school meet me at my house, there I'll teach you some basic defence skills... Wait a little bit before coming over. The student council and I have a meeting about budgeting issues."

"Alright, But you know, I already know some material arts. I'm a black belt in kickboxing."

Jack sed trying his best not to be distracted by the smell of fresh pizza coming from the window, it has been a long time sense the last time he had a slice of New York style.

Six months to be exact, that's why he made sure to avoid Enzo's at all cost. He was trying to make sure he didn't give in to his gluttonous tendencies until the fourth of July.

Thank God Lisa was there to distract him from his overwhelming urge to allow his "fat-self" to come back.

Lisa looked back at the boy.

"Oh really?... Your not just saying that to impress me are you?"

Jack rolled his eyes.

"No. I'm serious... My grandpa was a martial artist. He taught me everything he knew."

"I see..."

The pair walked down the block, turning away from main Street and passing the old clocktower. They crossed the street and walked along the path beside the wall of Ben Franklin park. "Well... Kick boxing is a good skill set to start with, after all it's close to one of the martial arts that I know."

"One?... You know more?" Jack asked as he walked beside her.

She gave him a smile. "Why of course, I know Muay Thai, judo, taekwondo, Wang Chong, and a little bit of drunken boxing."

"Damn... " Jack looked at the girl in awe.

"What can I say? I've trained my body to it's peak..." She sed grinning at jacks amazement. "I also know gymnastics and ballet, plus I can do over a thousand set-ups and pull-ups in one sitting."

"Whoa... Wow. Ok so let's just add this up, your a rich girl who's a workaholic, straight A student, who's also the head of the student council, a track athlete, a secret monster hunter. You know multiple martial arts and basically have superpowers. Is there anything else you can do that I should know about?"

She tilted her head to the side, as if to take time to find an answer, placing her index finger on her chin. "Oh. I can cook gourmet and bake. My favorite thing to cook is wagyu steak and pasta,"

"... Geez" Jack let out a sigh.

"Your one hell of an overachiever."

Lisa's smile dropped, and was exchanged for a look of annoyance. "You act as if that's a bad thing."

"It's not... It's just when your terribly average like me, you kind of look at people like you then look at yourself and say 'hey. How come I can't be like that?' "

Lisa studied the boys profile for a moment or two, then she spoke up.

"Jack turner-"

'oh God I pissed her off again somehow. Not another lexure-'

She gently placed her hand on his shoulder, he looked at her and blushed, they both stopped. "Your anything but average."

She sed in a stern yet gentle tone.

"Yes, you do have terrible grades. And your attendance is horrible. But you have a good heart-" Jack felt a pang of self hatred when she sed that, she had to say that didn't she?

"All you ever do is go out and try to help people, no matter how far it puts you out.

Because that's who Jack turner is, Jack... Your a-" she stopped herself.

She blushed a little, then quickly withdrew her hand from his shoulder and crossed her arms. "An idiot, but... A good idiot. And apparently one with a divine seal that can destroy magic and arc-craft. Seriously..."

She took a look at his left hand.

"I'm not sure why God would give you such a power, but it looks like it might come in handy. Though as a hunter I think you should be vary carefull... After all, your gonna be dealing with things beyond your comprehension. Not that you won't be able to become one. It's just gonna be hard for you to take on something like a vampire without arc-craft. Unless that thing acts like a crucifix in a Dracula movie."

"Wait, do crucifixes work in real life?"

"No. Contrary to popular belief, vampires aren't damned. It's a long story short but vampire's are actually ancient mutants created by rogue alchemists, not humans who sold there sole to the devil for power."

"Oh."

"They still have the blood lust though"

There was a pause.

The breeze blew past the pair, the peddles from the charry blossoms blew past them.

Lisa's hair blew in the wind, she brushed her bangs to the side, The scene was overwhelming for Jack.

It was like it was straight out of some movie, Lisa was standing there. Unaware of how breathtaken Jack was with her.

at least until her eyes met his.

"Heh... What?... Are you enraptured by beauty?" She grinned.

Jack stood there silently. It was awkward... But also, romantic. For the both of them.

Lisa started to flush, little bits of pink began to

Cover her cheeks. "Uh... Heh... You gonna say something or?...."

Jack walked forward. "Yeah, Your damn beautiful." Jack sed point blank.

He had never had the confidence to tell her that before, but he figured sense she had been flirting with him all day. And he had already admitted she was his type earlier.

He might as well go ahead and pay her that compliment. Lisa's face turned from pink to blood red. "W-wha!? I... I... I... You can't say that!"

Jack walked a few steps past her then stopped. "Why's that?"

"Because someone might get the wrong idea!"

"Oh?... So you can just call me a 'good boy' and 'darling' and think it's no big deal, but when I call you beautiful it's the end of the world?"

She stammered as she stood there.

"I- i- i- well... Mmm-" she let out a cute little wimper. Which made Jack want to pay her even more compliments.

"Well, let me say it again. Your beautiful... And cute. Way to cute honestly. Oh and your hot too."

"!" She suddenly covered her face and turned away from him. "Stooooop...."

Jack grinned.

"Make me."

She peaked through her tiny little fingers and turned her head back at him. "Your a meanie."

Suddenly Jack felt the moe sensation in his heart leap, she was just so adorable he couldn't help but wanna hug her and squeeze her tightly. But the boy composed himself.

'sooooo cute!'

Jack turned his head from her to stop her from seeing the sheer amount of moe she was inducing on him.

"Jack?" She asked in a small quiet voice, like a scared little kitten.

"Y-yeah?" Jack tried to maintain his composer.

"Do you like me?"

Jack turned completely red and turned his head back to her. "H-huh!?"

"Do you like me?" She wasn't kidding, she was asking him plain and simple. Her voice was filled with sincerity, her expression vulnerable.

"I! I um... I.... "

"T-tell me!"

She stepped forward.

"Um... As a friend or-"

"You know I don't mean as a friend! Don't act dense! Your not a harem mc!"

Jack couldn't look her directly in the eye.

"Well... I'll say this... I think your... Amazing... And... Beautiful... And... Utterly perfect... Does that answer your question?"

She studied his face for a moment, then took a step back. "Yeah... I guess it does."

Once again there was a pause.

"It's... Not that I don't like you, i-"

"No, no, no, I'm sorry... I shouldn't have just sprang that on you so fast. But um...

I think your incredible Jack, I want you to know that."

The two stood there just looking at the ground for a few while.

"Well..." She finally broke the silence.

"I'm gonna walk myself home, remember come to my house tomorrow around six o clock. Sharp, no slacking got it?"

"Yes ma'am..."

She smiled softly.

"Good boy."

"D-dont go calling me that! We aren't even dating yet!"

"Yet?... Hehe. You have plans on asking me out huh?" She teased.

"Shut up!"

"Alright, Alright, see you tomorrow ok?"

"See ya..."

And Jack watched as she walked off until she was out of sight, Jack let out a sigh. and then it suddenly hit him. He just admitted he had a crush on her.

"Oh... Oh God, oh God, oh-God-oh-God-God-oh-God!!!!!!"

Then he cursed himself in his head, calling himself the worst abominations you can think of. "Give me a break!"

He began to walk the opposite direction towards his townhouse, hoping and praying that this doesn't turn into something awkward. Not that it wasn't already awkward,

Jack considerd the idea that Lisa could like him. However...

With his bad luck, she probably was just flattered by the idea but would never actually date him in real life.

At least that's what he thought.

* * *

Lisa opened the large wooden door of her mansion and closed it behind her, she leaned her back against it and stood there silently.

"..."

Her thoughts became filled with what Jack sed, all those compliments. And also implication of what he just sed when asked if he liked her, He just admitted it.

Jack turner. Lisa Elwood's hero has a crush on her...

"Oh my gosh... oh my gosh... Oh my gosh!- oh my gosh!- oh my gosh!- ohmygosh!!!!!!!!!"

Her face turned blood red as her heart pounded in her chest, butterflies filling her stomach. Her face was so hot she felt it was gonna burst into flames, she placed her hands on her cheeks and felt them burn.

She rushed into the hall, down all the way to the steps near the living room and ran up the steps and then into her room.

Slam!

She unconsciously slammed the door as she rushed to her bed and barried her face within the giant teddy bear she slept with most every night, she had a mountain of plushies that rested on her bed. But she only really cared about the giant teddy bear. For sentimental reasons of course.

"Hmm!!!! Jack called me cute! And beautiful! And hot too!!!!" She squealed.

"Eeeee!"

She was completely and totally filled with happiness, she hadn't felt this happy in a long time. "Jack like's me... He really like's me... I mean he didn't say it outright. But he sed it without actually saying it." She turned around on her back.

"Oh Jack... I wonder how long he's liked me though-" she laid there thinking about it.

And then it hit her, there were time's when Jack would be starring at her in class.

And Jack could have sed he didn't want to hear her lexure him, but he didn't. And in fact.

There were time's when she'd actually see him blush when they were talking. She just didn't pay attention...

There were more sighs too.

She seamed to be the only girl in school Jack ever really payed attention too...

But then there was the question, why didn't Jack just say anything. And she ponderd a bit more, Then it came to her. "Jack is shy... "

And at the realization, her heart swelled with a sense of pure lovey-dovey affection for him.

"Jack is shy! Ohmygosh he's a shy boy! Ehehe~ Jack is so cute!"

She sat up and grabbed her teddy bear and held it tightly, barrying her face in the top of its head.

She began to imagine Jack pining away for her, like a male dendere from a shojo manga.

She smiled to herself, suddenly she imagined him doing cute things like writting her name in his notebook, dreaming about her, or trying to work up the courage to ask her out but losing heart right as he saw her walk into homeroom.

Of course she may have done the same thing, possibly...

But it's not like she-

'no...'

She held her teddy bear tightly.

"I do have feelings for Jack, I have to be honest with myself... And with him. He deserves it. After all, if I'm right he's probably had a crush on me for a while, maybe not as long as I have for him, but he's been so shy.

But I'm glad he was able to tell me how he feels, but now I gotta show him how I feel now... I know just what to do."

She stood up with determination.

"I'm gonna flirt with him nonstop until he asks me out! And I know that boys are dense so I'm gonna be as direct as possible! I'm gonna woo him and make him fall even more head over heels for me and make him mine!"

She declared, placing her hands on her hips.

"Soon Jack will be mine! And I'll keep him all to myself, and I'll hug him and kiss and him and love him and-" she stopped herself.

"Ok, that's enough for now. I've been talking to myself for twenty minutes now..."

She took in a deep breath, then after a couple of seconds of just standing around. She decided to take a shower. She walked out of her room and into the hall. She went into the bathroom and took a shower for about ten minutes or so, then changed into another blue skirt and a white T-shirt.

She went back into her room, sitting at her desk doing homework for a few hours until seven o clock came.

She looked at the time and Took in a deep breath. "Alright... "

She got up and went into her closet, grabbing a short red jacket, putting it on quick and opening the chest in her room she pulled out her black dagger as well as some other tools and weapons and hiding the majority of them in hidden pockets within her red Jacket.

She put on her gauntlets and hid them underneath her sleeves, she opened her drawer in her desk and grabbed her father's silver cross necklace. "Let's do this."

She put on the necklace and then she opened the window of her room, she crawled out and climbed to the roof.

The night air was cold, yet there was a bit of warmth there. It was spring after all...

Soon it would be summer, but that would be in a month, the wind blew. The girl ready'd herself.

"..." She charged her circuits and pumped energy into her legs, and with no hesitation she ran and leaped off the roof. Shooting away from Elwood manor passing over the rooftops and streets of old Town, all that could be seen was a blue bolt of lightning.

She reached out her left hand and with the press of a button she swong past a water tower and across main Street, but she was going so fast no one could see her.

She was like a shadow in the night.

This was just another night on patrol for Lisa Elwood, she was on her way to meet up with Billy at the wedding chapel then patrol old town, then take a buss into the city and patrol there for a few hours.

Though, without telling Billy. She was also planning on searching for the man in black.

Yep. Another ordinary night for Lisa Elwood.
