Ch 36 : Unique Spell

The sunrise brought light to the world, offering hope to Auron and his friends as they resumed their routine, but with renewed spirits and fresh goals.

Alice had mastered her Fireball Toss, while Thyra perfected her Tempest Arrow. Miss Eleanor praised them for their diligence. Auron advised them to focus on defensive and evasion spells. Alice chose Flame Shield and Fire Dash, while Thyra opted for Wind Shield and Wind Step, using all their points but without regret as these were investments in their future.

Eliot continued refining his mana circulation to improve spellcasting and focused on mastering the Aqua Jet spell. Walter, training with Sir Baldwin, worked on his hammer combat foundation. Though still struggling with precision, Sir Baldwin's guidance allowed him to improve daily. His goal was to master shield combat once his strength allowed him to wield both hammer and shield effectively.

Auron had reached the Initiate Realm in the Shadow Step technique, allowing him to land kicks stealthily and accurately. He then moved on to Voidfoot Steps: Shadow Glide, the first movement technique of his Void Nexus Combat Art, designed to enhance speed by reducing friction. Sir Baldwin provided him with heavier bracelets and anklets for training.

Auron had also formed his unique spell: Inferno Lance of Ruin. This spell focused on penetrating power and a corrosive effect, but its volatility due to the Primordial Fire required significant soul force and Xiao Yu's assistance to control. He planned to practice it in the Combat Tower, postponing his breakthrough until he mastered both his combat art and spell.

At the next club meeting, Auron presented his clean rune inscription to Teacher Garrick. He demonstrated the rune-writing technique he had practiced for a week. The rune was flawless, with consistent pressure and smooth strokes.

"Is this really after just one week of practice? You've never trained in rune inscription before?" Teacher Garrick asked, astonished by Auron's skill.

"Yes, I've never had formal training," Auron replied humbly.

His seniors were equally shocked by his talent, recognizing Auron's potential as a future rune inscription master. Befriending such talent was not only wise but also essential, as rune inscriptionists were highly sought after.

"I will give you a set of advanced runes after you complete all the basics. You can also try inscribing them onto beast skin to test their effects later," said Teacher Garrick, motivating his students.

After the meeting, Auron headed straight to the Combat Tower. The elder smiled but didn't interfere with Auron's decision.

"Seraphael, where are you? I want to test my unique spell!" Auron called out.

A moment later, Seraphael appeared, raising her eyebrows. "What spell have you created that has you this excited?"

"It's a unique spell based on my first heavenly rune. I call it Inferno Lance of Ruin. Summon 10 seventh-layer Tier 2 Augmenters. I need to test its power and refine my control," Auron requested.

Seraphael waved her hand, summoning a group of guards. "Ready, boy?"

Auron summoned terrifying flames, shaping them into a long, thin lance. His Inferno Lance of Ruin was powered by his celestial aura, which he compressed for maximum effect.

Seraphael watched in awe. "What has this boy created? This spell already exceeds Tier 1—it's nearing peak Tier 2 power," she thought.

Auron released the spell, and the lance shot through the air, striking one of the guards. The armor melted instantly, disintegrating them. Flames exploded, spreading rapidly destroying all the guards.

Satisfied with the result, Auron smiled, but his hands were scorched, and only 20% of his celestial aura remained.

"I overdid it," Auron mused. "Too much celestial aura—I can't handle that level of power yet. Thankfully, this is an illusion."

"Are you okay?" Seraphael asked. "That spell is overwhelming. It's already at peak Tier 2, but you need better control. In reality, you could lose your hands."

"Noted. That's why I'm here—to practice. If this were real, I'd be in trouble," Auron replied.

He continued practicing, adjusting the amount of celestial aura until he found a balance between damage and efficiency. After refining the spell, he could cast it seven times, though his accuracy needed improvement. Satisfied for now, Auron decided to stop.

Before leaving the white space, Auron turned to Seraphael with a question. "I'll bring my friends here later. Should you assess them as a group or individually?"

"I can do both. It will help me see their strengths, weaknesses, and roles in a team," Seraphael responded.

"Do you have any mana circulation manuals?"

"No, I can only provide what's on the list."

"Got it. Thanks, Seraphael. See you later," Auron said, vanishing from the white space.

Seraphael mused quietly, "I hope you can protect Eternis."

As Auron walked to the cafeteria, he was deep in thought. "I need to create a mana circulation system based on their heavenly runes, and a soul cultivation technique to enhance their comprehension. I'll attune both to their elemental affinities"

In his room, Auron sat cross-legged on his bed, meditating on the soul's heavenly rune once again. Since this wasn't his first attempt, he quickly grasped most of its intricacies. What he needed now was to create a soul cultivation art attuned to each of the basic elements.

"Xiao Yu, we have work to do tonight. Let's finish the framework for this cultivation art," Auron said, focused on the task ahead.

They worked tirelessly through the night, piecing together the foundation of the cultivation art. By the time the first light of morning crept through the window, Auron had made significant progress. Stretching, he headed to the bathroom for a quick shower, knowing that the weekend mission awaited him and his friends—a welcome escape from the intensity of their academic life.

Meanwhile, inside the Gloom Watch Keep, soldiers trained rigorously, sparring with their comrades or patrolling the fortress's perimeter.

"Sir Chris, we've received a report from Sir Tim regarding a disturbance in the forest. Here's the letter," the captain said, handing over the parchment.

Sir Chris's brow furrowed as he read the message. With a deep sigh, he muttered, "It looks like I'll need to join him. The creature isn't particularly strong, but it's cunning. We thought we had exterminated it last time, but it seems to have slipped away."

He began strapping on his armor and securing his sword when he turned to the captain. "Summon the Deputy Commander. We'll need a full response for this."
