My harsh words pricked at her chest, stabbing right through it and into her heart. I watched as anger flashed past her eyes in a split second and she clenched her jaws tightly.
Her eyes went wide. "What… did… you just say?" She asked through gritted teeth, each word that left her lips were coated with a thick layer of venom as her blood boiled with anger.
I knew she heard me the first time but I repeated it anyway. "I was asking you if it hurts that your own biological daughter doesn't want you," I said, my voice cold and icy as I kept my gaze steady.
