Third Person POV
Evelyn's blood chilled in her veins as her heart drummed against her chest loudly, threatening to burst out at any second now. She was staring ahead with a blank expression that masked her features as her mind struggled to register the situation.
"What's… going on?" She stammered, muttering under her breath in a soft voice as her eyes darted around anxiously. "Why are the police here? Why are they looking for me?"
Slowly, Natalie turned her head around and her eyes landed on Evelyn's dark green eyes that were filled with worry and panic.
"You were involved in a hit and run?" She asked, her voice came out shaky as she echoed the words of the officer and stared at her with disbelief written all over her face.
