First fight

Sukuna stood before the soldiers of the theocracy, as Nigrun ordered the angels next to him to protect him, wary of the newcomers. He had a bewildered look on his face. He looked at the man who faced him. Although the man seemed to have the constitution of a warrior, the weapon he held looked like one that would belong to a magic caster. And then there were those markings on his body, similar to those worn by a shaman.

"How do you do, people of Slane theocracy? My name is Sukuna Ryoumen and I am a humble servant of Ainz Ooal Gown." he introduced.

He thought to himself 'Good thing I managed to convince Ainz to let me come here alone due to the danger of some hidden trump card they still have. The guy that I interrogated before mentioned the Theocracy's trump card which happened to trigger Ainz's paranoia, leading him to send me in alone. I need to see what else I can do.'

"I will not waste your time with needless conversation. First, I have a few questions, and you are to answer them."

"Where is the knight captain?"

"He is at a place you won't be able to touch him. Now are you willing to answer or shall I cut up a few of you first?"

"Huhuhu… you shall come to regret that insolence! ANGELS, CHARGE!!!"

'Well that went as expected. Now… for the fun part'

[Twin magic: Cleave]

Saying those words he pointed at two angels, slicing them in half after which they proceeded to turn into particles of light. He then teleported in front of a third one, before grabbing its head and crushing it with his bare hands. He then grabbed its torso, and before it could turn into light , he threw it at the fourth one, causing it to slam into the ground, before smashing its head in with a stomp.

"Now why don't you send in something actually worth fighting."

"Impossible! Those were archangels! How can you defeat them so easily?! There must be some trick! I will not allow this! Send in all of the remaining angels! I want him dead!"

"Huh… you should realise by now that this is futile. Kamutoke."

He swung his weapon, releasing a bolt of lightning so powerful that it eviscerated every single archangel coming at him instantly, as if they were no more than smoke cleared up by a gust of wind.

"This... This can't be!" Somebody's voice was carried in the wind. The scene before them was unbelievable.

There had been more than forty angels and they were all obliterated.

A violent chill went through Nigun's entire body. Gazef Stronoff flitted across the back of his mind, along with the words he'd said.

The words matched the scene before his eyes.

That can't be possible! Nigun dismissed Gazef's words from his head and frantically talked himself down. Yeah, it's not like he's done something unbelievable. Every member of the black scripture can do that. Even if he's at their level it will be fine. I still have THAT after all. However his subordinates were not as calm.

" Yea-yearrrrrgh! "

"What the hell?!"

"He's a monster!"

Upon seeing that their angels were useless, they began shooting off any spell they felt they could rely on, shrieking ah the while:

"Charm Person!"

"Iron Hammer of Righteousness!"

"Hold!"

"Fire Rain!"

"Emerald Sarcophagus!"

"Shock Wave!"

"Stalagmite Charge!"

"Open Wounds!"

"Poison!"

"Fear!"

"Curse!"

"Blindness!"

'These spells are so low tier that my passive magic nullification just cancels them outright. How boring.' Sukuna thought.

Then, the big angel at the back who had not moved thus far began to fly towards Sukuna, with a mace in hand.

As it's mace smashed down on him, or at least attempted to, Sukuna raised his arm, stopping the mace dead in its tracks.

He then grabbed one of its arms, ripping it off completely, before kicking the angel away.

"You look like you've lost something, angel." He taunted, waving the arm at the summon.

Before it could react, he launched another [Cleave] destroying it.

"Impossible! That can't be! There's no way you can destroy an elite angel! What kind of monster are you?!"

Sukuna replied, "You're a conceited one, aren't you? Thinking that just because you cannot comprehend something, that it must not be possible. Unfortunately for you, I am very much real."

While Sukuna was saying this, Nigrun was desperately trying to thik of a way to get out of his predicament.

'This man is way too strong. I have to retreat! Inform my superiors!'

"C-Captain, wh-what should we do?"

"Figure it out yourself! I'm not your mother, dammit!"

The frightened look on his subordinate's face after being yelled at brought Nigun back to reality. He couldn't lose composure in the face of this unknown monster.

Frantically suppressing his fear, Nigun gave orders.

"Defense! Anyone who wants to live, buy me time!"

With trembling hands, he took a crystal from his breast pocket. The chains of fear bound his normally quick subordinates and their movements became sluggish. Even a soldier who wasn't afraid of death would hesitate when asked to act as a shield against such a monster, but he had to get them to buy him some time nevertheless.

Sealed in this crystal was magic to summon that most powerful angel.

had the capacity to take out an entire city with ease. Nigun had no idea what it cost or how much effort was needed to summon this angel, but if he could kill this unfathomable foe, Ainz Ooal Gown, then it would be worth it.

More than anything, they'd all be doomed if he didn't use the crystal and then Ainz stole it. Those were the excuses he used in his head. In reality, he was just scared to become a lump of meat like the many beings he'd slayed.

"I'm going to summon the highest-level angel! Buy me time!" this statement finally bought some hope to his men.

"Behold! The noble dominion authority!"

The angel was a cluster of sparkling wings. Inside, a hand was holding the symbol of sovereignty, a sceptre, but besides that there were no legs or a head or anything else.

"Now despair, as this angel rips you to shreds. I summoned the highest-level angel against you—I respect you as an opponent. Take pride in that!

He solemnly shook his head. "Honestly, I'd like to welcome you as a brother. It would be great to have someone as powerful as you for an ally...but forgive me. My orders this time don't allow for that. But we will remember you, the man who forced us to summon the highest-level angel."

"Yeah yeah, I'm growing tired of this farce now. I'm getting bored so I'll just test one last thing before I finish this."

The man before them were giving off the strong indication that even bothering with Nigun and his men any longer was absurd. Nigun began to get hot under the collar. "How can you act this way before the highest-level angel?" he bellowed at them as they chatted in a leisurely manner, ignoring it. Ryoumen Sukuna couldn't possibly surpass even the highest-level angel, could he? "No! It can't be! It can't be! It cannot be! No one should be able to beat this angel! It even beat an evil spirit! No human can win against this angel—you must be bluffing! This has to be a bluff!" Nigun no longer had the means to control his emotions.

He couldn't accept that there could be an enemy of the Slane Theocracy who was stronger than their strongest angel. Nor could he accept the fact that that enemy was standing in front of him. "Use Holy Smite!"

In response to its summoner's wish for an all-out attack, the dominion authority's scepter shattered. The shards began slowly revolving around the angel.

"Holy Smite!"

The spell was cast and a column of light shone down—at least, that's what it looked like.

Only, when the dust settled, Sukuna walked out looking unfazed.

"Is that all? I mean, I guess you did damage but that was a bit overwhelming for my first proper fight. I guess it's my turn now."

[OPEN: **********]

As he said this, he put his arms together, as a wisp of flame formed in his hand. It then swelled as he took the poise of an archer, forming an arrow around him.

"Ah, I can use it after all. No restrictions either. Now, for the fun bit."

Saying this, he launched the arrow at the angel, and in a flash of brilliant light, the angel disappeared. The theocracy's trump card disappeared in an instant. The flame didn't just hit the angel, it also reached the soldiers near it, burning them as well.

'Well, I do feel bad for them but these guys sort of had it coming. Plus they did kill a lot of people so what goes around comes around.'
