Ambush and Blood bath

The forest seemed alive with an unsettling quiet.

Each step I took crunched against brittle leaves beneath my feet.

My torn, wet clothes clung to my skin, a constant reminder of the waterfall I had climbed earlier.

The air was colder now, heavy with the scent of damp earth and faint traces of blood.

I crouched behind a giant tree, scanning the dense forest for any sign of the kobolds.

My traps were ready seven trees enchanted with "Ignite," "Blast," and "Strengthen" runes, all fused with my Ki.

Stones scattered across the ground like breadcrumbs, waiting for my prey to step in.

"I'm waiting for predators to become prey," I thought, tightening my grip on the kobold dagger I had taken earlier.

The crude blade gleamed faintly in the dappled sunlight, its rough edges a stark contrast to the calculated calm I forced myself to maintain.

Then, a rustle broke the silence, followed by the guttural chatter of kobold voices.

I heard them before I saw them, their snarls and hisses sending a chill up my spine.

My eyes locked onto the group of ten adult kobolds clad in crude black leather armor, moving in formation. At their helm was the kobold general.

My stomach dropped. He looked completely unharmed.

"Damn it," I muttered under my breath.

"When I detonated all the blast rune pebbles by the riverside, I thought the kobold general might survive but how is he completely uninjured? It's like he didn't take any damage at all."

His guttural commands echoed through the forest, a harsh, grating sound that sent shivers down my spine.

"Sssmmeeellll bblllooood... takkkkkkeee revvveeeennnggge"

They were close now, their sharp claws scraping against the dirt.

My pulse quickened, my breath steady but sharp as they drew nearer to the trap zone.

The general stepped forward, sniffing the air, his scarlet eyes scanning the surroundings for any sign of me.

"Closer... just a bit more," I whispered to myself.

I knew my bait would work.

My blood-soaked clothes, stained with kobold blood, hung nearby, dangling from a branch.

The waterfall had left me drenched, hiding my scent, but I counted on the kobolds' sharp sense of smell to catch the faint trace of their comrade's blood.

Now, they were walking straight into my trap.

''Perfect timing" I muttered to myself.

The forest exploded with Chaos as Kobold general's foot crossed the traps threshold.

I used my mana as a trigger, and a surged of energy coursed through the rune, with a loud noise both "ignite" and "blast" runes flared to life, unleashing tremendous Roar,7 tree shattered instantly with a thunderous crack.

Kobolds caught directly beneath the fallen tree screeched in terror but had no time to escape.

The impact silenced them instantly, their body's crushed under the immense weight dust and fragments of bark filled the air.

But I couldn't relaxe because I can fee,l it tremendous voilent monster aura immerge from all that carnage , the kobold general is still alive.

"How is he still alive"?I Muttered while gritted my teeth.

The kobold general is standing while half of his body was injured blood is dripping from different wounds.

"Something is wrong, my instinct warn me, but no time to weight "I muttered, while putting myself to action.

I brust from my hiding spot dashing towards general, my dagger gleamed as I channeled my ki into it , the blade glowing faintly with energy.

"vajrastava is truly a miracle martial arts, only D or C rank Martial artists can use ki energy to combine their weapons, but using Vajrastava, I can do it even though it's incomplete it's really helpful".

The general looked at me and roared and charged at me with a speed that belied his injury.

"Hummmmnn ccchiillllddd aaalliiiveee"

His massive Axe 🪓 swung towards me in a deadly arc.

I barely managed to parray, the force of his strike sending ke skidding backward .

"Damm", he is strong I muttered to myself.

"Yes I am alive you basterd now you will die"

The general didn't weight he charged again swinging his gaint Axe , I dodged and weaved, each Swing coming dangerously close.

My focus narrowed, every ounce of my concentration devoted to finding an opening.

Finnally I saw it a momentary hesitation in his Swing. Thanks to injuries he got from blast.

"Given the kobold general's extensive injuries,His body, weakened by blood loss and the weight of his wounds, isn't able to maintain peak efficiency. Despite his strength, his swings are slower and less precise, making them easier to predict".

I darted forward, slashing his exposed side , the blade connected , drawing another sprout of blood , the general howled, his movements is flattering Just for a second.

I used his week state for my advantage, a nd landed another strike on his leg.

General roared in pain and used his monstrous Aura that sent my flying back.

But I wanted to end this battel early, that's why I prepared to charged at him, but before I cloud move further, the forest shifted.

A chilling wind swept through the trees carrying with it's dark oppressive energy .

I froze instinctively stepping back as a figure emerged from the shadow , a kobold holding a staff ,A kobold Shanam .

Clad in tattered robes made up of animal skin,

adorned with bones and crude charms, the Shanam presence was suffocating , In it's clawed hand he is holding a staf made up of Bone , it's glowing with pulsating red runes.

"now I understand why you were uninjured, so that Shanam healed your injuries judging From his magic Power he must be a D rank monster or above".

Haahhh I am about to die.

The general stepped back , his posture is relaxing as if he is reassured by shanams arrival.

"Of course one isn't enough " I muttered.

The Shanam raised its staff , chanting in s guttural language , that sent a Shiver down my spine . The Air around it shimmered and I felt a shift , a surge of Mana radiating outwards.

I barely had time to react before the ground beneath me erupted, a jagged piller of stone shooting upward.

I rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding the attack but Shanam wasn't done . Fireballs rained down from above, each impact sending waves of heat and force through the clearing.

I darted between the trees ,my mind is racing. Fighting both kobold general and Shanam was the death sentence .

"I needed a plain and fast"

While avoiding fire ball from Shanam I see kobold general who is charing his key, Red monstrous Aura surrounded him.

The Shanam,s chanting grew louder, the forest trembling with its power ,the general advanced again , his blade gleaming with faint red aura.

"Fine", I growled. "One at a time then".
