Chapter 58. The Glory of a Superhero

"Huh?!"

After being teleported into the mansion's living room, Gwen curiously examined her surroundings. Everything seemed new and unfamiliar to her.

As she was about to ask Noah about the purpose of these objects, a mature and captivating female voice echoed behind her. She turned around to see a floating spherical object with a large round eye in the center.

"Gwen, this is Lissandra, my first summoned companion. Now she'll be your companion too," Noah explained, noticing her surprise, her slightly parted lips looking adorable.

"Oh! Hi, Lissandra!" Gwen greeted her immediately, feeling a bit embarrassed by her reaction. Lissandra's appearance was indeed stunning.

She wanted to ask why Lissandra looked the way she did, but Noah anticipated her question and began explaining.

"Lissandra is an AI (artificial intelligence). Like us, she has a soul. And soon, your sister Lissandra will have a body like ours," he shared the plans to create a body for Lissandra. In fact, the plan had been completed yesterday, but he hadn't yet begun the process due to unexpected tasks.

"Wow! That sounds cool," Gwen didn't fully understand what AI was, but it seemed very impressive to her.

"Noah, what's that big black device?" Gwen asked, pointing to the large LCD TV hanging on the white wall. Her attention was drawn to the black panel.

"That's a TV. It allows us to watch shows, movies, and news," Noah explained. "Though you may not fully understand it now, it lets us see information from all over the world."

"Wow, that's so amazing! I didn't expect so many interesting things where Noah lives. I've never seen anything like this before," Gwen was thrilled. Her human body had been given to her so she could better explore the world and enjoy new discoveries.

"Noah, I have some information that might interest you," Lissandra suddenly said, turning on the TV. The black screen lit up, startling Gwen a little.

The screen displayed a street interview. A reporter was asking questions to passersby.

"Hello, gentlemen. Sorry for the interruption, what do you think about the meteor incident in New Mexico?" the reporter held a microphone towards a group of young people who looked like students. The cameraman focused on them.

"Are you broadcasting this live?" asked one of the blond young men.

"Yes."

"A meteor? I heard Iron Man and Storm Swordsman were there. The internet is full of videos about it. So, it probably wasn't a meteor," the young man responded, and his friends nodded in agreement.

"The government is trying to convince us it was a meteor? Do they take us for fools? I want them to tell us the truth. We have the right to know what really happened," the young man said emotionally.

"Alright, that concludes our interview. From the responses of our viewers, it's clear that most are dissatisfied with the U.S. government's explanation. We'll continue to investigate this event, so stay tuned."

"Was this video recorded by the residents of that small town?" Noah watched the screen as Lissandra played the footage. The video showed Iron Man landing dramatically in the town, attracting a crowd. Many residents were filming the events on their phones.

Then Noah appeared on the screen, and the camera began shaking. He assumed it was during the arrival of the Destroyer.

"Looks like they know my nickname. When did I become this famous?" Noah scratched his head. He recalled that someone in the interview had mentioned the nickname "Storm Swordsman" He remembered only telling one classmate, whom he had saved, about that name.

As Noah thought about it, he almost forgot who it was. It was his classmate, and he recalled she had been recording a video at the time. Maybe that video went viral, and that's how everyone learned his nickname?

"Noah, look at this," Lissandra continued, switching to another video. This time, the scene was set at night.

It was footage from an interview. Noah recognized the location—it was the Stark Expo. These were likely clips shot after it had ended.

The reporter was asking spectators what had happened. Some people, still shaken from the danger, could barely speak, but eventually, the reporter found a witness who could provide a coherent comment.

"That Justin Hammer is a real villain! His robots started attacking people right at the expo. Luckily, we were saved; otherwise, we'd be dead," one of the spectators said.

"Were you saved by Iron Man?" the reporter asked.

"Not just him. While Iron Man was dealing with some of the robots, the real hero who saved us was someone else. He was also in high-tech armor, and he was incredible, though I don't know his name."

"I know! His name is Storm Swordsman! Check out this video," a boy nearby exclaimed, pulling out his phone and showing a saved video.

It was the video taken by Hannah, Noah's classmate. In it, Noah, wearing the "PROJECT: Yasuo" armor, told Hannah not to make up any nicknames for him and then named himself Storm Swordsman before running up a building wall to the roof.

From that moment on, the name Storm Swordsman became well-known. Overnight, many people learned about the appearance of a new superhero, and Hannah's video on her personal site went viral, so much so that she didn't understand what was happening and was scared her account had been hacked.

"Oh, so that's what happened," Noah nodded. He remembered allowing his classmate to film that video; otherwise, he would have asked Lissandra to delete it.

He wanted to experience what it was like to be Iron Man—when a crowd shouts your name and calls you a superhero. But now he understood that he shouldn't call himself a hero. He didn't possess the high ideals that make someone a true hero.

Being a superhero means that even if you've done many good deeds, one mistake can lead to a wave of criticism and condemnation. There are many examples of this in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Of course, if someone in the future tried to criticize him online, Noah wouldn't hesitate to find that person by their IP and personally give them a couple of slaps to make sure they never dared to pull such stunts again.

He turned off the screen, and Gwen also looked away from the monitor. The recently turned-on black TV with sound and images had initially scared her. But then, driven by curiosity, she began watching how people appeared on the screen, as if they were trapped inside.

"Gwen, I'll ask Lissandra to teach you the basic knowledge about this world. It'll help you better understand your surroundings. After that, I'll prepare a bedroom for you. From now on, this is your home."

"Oh, okay," Gwen nodded. Since parting ways with her previous master, she hadn't had a home. After becoming human, she fought alongside the other Sentinels of Light when they sealed Viego. At that time, she felt a little like she had a home. But now, in this new world, she had a home again.

After saying that, Noah looked around as if searching for something. Soon, he found what he was looking for.

"Blitzcrank, prepare a room for Gwen. Let it be the one next to mine," he called out to the robot standing in the corner. After Noah's command, Blitzcrank stepped out of the shadows, his white mechanical body gleaming in the light.

"Understood, master," the robot's voice sounded a bit odd due to its mechanical tone.

"Hi, I'm Gwen," Gwen was surprised to find another resident of the house. More precisely, not a person, but a robot.

"Hello, Miss Gwen."

"Gwen, if you need anything in your room, just tell Blitzcrank, and he'll provide it for you," Noah explained. Blitzcrank could create necessary items using nanomechanics, of course, with the proper project data. Otherwise, he could build something like a spaceship out of thin air.

"Lissandra, take care of Gwen."

"No problem, Noah."

Noah left the mansion, donning his armor, and quickly headed toward the busy districts. Naturally, he activated invisibility mode. His goal was to complete his daily tasks. Although nothing serious had occurred, just a few C-rank tasks, they still needed to be done, or they would be wasted.

He began his daily routine of fighting criminals. Don't ask why they appeared even in broad daylight—after all, this was the land of the free, America.

[Task completed, Summoner receives 100 Essence points]

[Essence: 3200 units]

Returning to the lab, Noah began working on creating a body for Lissandra.
