Chapter 68. The Emergence of Abomination

Some time had passed, and Noah, sitting in the café, noticed numerous police cars pulling up on the street, starting to evacuate the people around.

Many passersby, though confused, allowed the officers to escort them away, but some started protesting, shouting about their freedom, only to end up with a spray of pepper spray in their faces.

"So soon?" Noah put his coffee cup down and looked outside.

In the film, General Ross's squad arrived by evening, and though it was only just dusk, they were already gathering. Perhaps the Hulk's appearance had sped up Ross's actions. Although Noah had dismissed a few police officers earlier, such an event couldn't go unnoticed for long.

After the police, numerous military vehicles arrived, and the noise of helicopters sounded overhead.

Seeing that the evacuation had reached his café, he stood up and left through the back door. In the next moment, he appeared on the roof of a high-rise building, already in his combat suit, activating stealth mode, shielding himself with a light-reflecting cover.

At Greyburn College, officials received instructions from above to evacuate faculty and students, with one particular order—to not notify Dr. Samuel Sterns, leaving them bewildered. Had Sterns done something wrong?

Meanwhile, Bruce Banner and Betty Ross had already reached Sterns, and the three of them were now discussing how to remove the Hulk.

"What's going on out there?" Banner, sitting by the window, noticed the commotion outside.

He approached the curtained window, slightly parted it, and peeked at the street.

"It looks like they're evacuating," he observed, watching people being directed out of the academy.

"What? Why wasn't I informed?" Sterns was surprised and also moved closer to the window, fully drawing back the curtains, seeing that students and faculty were indeed being evacuated.

Banner immediately stepped back from the window to avoid being seen from outside. Looking at Betty, he realized this was General Ross's doing.

"Dr. Sterns, we need to start immediately, or it'll be too late." Banner grabbed Sterns by the shoulders, guiding him toward the equipment.

"What? Without any tests? That's… Alright, let's begin." Sterns, though shocked, saw the resolve in his companion and agreed to commence the experiment to extract the Hulk genes.

Outside the academy, an armored vehicle had arrived, and a squad of special forces began moving into the building. From his vantage point, Noah saw the group, noticing Emil Blonsky among them.

Blonsky had already taken six doses of the Super Soldier Serum. In theory, after Dr. Erskine's death, the original serum formula was lost, but these six doses had been synthesized from Captain America's blood.

The effects were weaker than the original, but Blonsky had endured the serum well. After the first triple injection, he sustained multiple fractures from a Hulk blow, yet quickly recovered, which was extraordinary. However, the second triple injection triggered mutations—his vertebrae began to protrude.

It's known that the Super Soldier Serum amplifies personality traits. Steve Rogers, already kind and just, became even more virtuous, while the Red Skull became even more malevolent. Blonsky, inclined to aggression, grew increasingly obsessed with combat and strength, fixating solely on finding and defeating the Hulk.

The special forces squad reached Sterns' lab. Blonsky, disregarding Ross's orders, rushed to the laboratory door and burst in, startling Sterns, who quickly stepped back.

He advanced, pushing Betty aside, causing her to fall onto a glass table, injuring her arm. Approaching Bruce Banner, who had just gotten up from the lab table, he grabbed him by the collar and lifted him.

"Bring out the monster—quickly!" he shouted, his face twisted in rage.

"It's gone," said Banner, weakened from the just-completed procedure, unable to resist.

Blonsky struck him in the face, trying to trigger the Hulk. Meanwhile, his comrades had also entered the lab, shouting at him to stop.

Realizing the Hulk wouldn't emerge, he abandoned his attempts and struck Banner across the face with the butt of his gun, knocking him out cold.

From the roof of the high-rise, Noah observed as armed soldiers surrounded the gurney holding Banner, bound in restraints, carrying him toward General Ross's helicopter.

"The monster should appear soon," he muttered, watching the academy.

Not long after Banner's helicopter took off, gunshots rang out from Samuel Sterns' laboratory, followed by a powerful explosion. A wall of the lab burst open, sending several special forces operatives flying out through a massive breach in the wall.

"What happened?" soldiers on campus, alerted by the explosion, sprinted toward the site of the incident.

An enormous figure leaped from the top floor, and as it landed, the ground beneath the soldiers shook slightly. Ignoring them, the creature began wreaking havoc. A police car parked on campus was crushed to pieces, sparking an explosion that shot flames three stories high.

Then, the monster lunged forward so quickly that the soldiers barely had time to react.

Inside the laboratory, after Blonsky's transformation, Sterns, who had been thrown aside, lay on the ground. Drops of Banner's blood, trickling from the equipment, seeped into an open wound on his head. Sterns' head started to swell, and a sinister smile crept onto his face.

"There it is!"

Outside, a soldier spotted the enormous creature emerging onto the street. In the light of the streetlamps, people saw it fully: a three-meter-tall monster with yellowish skin, bulging with massive muscles, with bony protrusions shielding its chest and spine ridged with spikes like a reptile's dorsal fins. Soldiers, seeing the creature, assumed it was the Hulk and immediately reported to General Ross.

"What? Impossible!" Ross looked at Banner sitting in the helicopter and ordered the soldiers to transmit a video feed, then instructed the pilot to turn back.

The street, now cleared following Banner's capture, became a scene of terror as the horrifying creature appeared. People panicked, screaming and scattering in fear.

"Shut up!" roared Blonsky, transformed into Abomination, now even more ruthless. He grabbed a nearby car and hurled it into a building.

Boom!

The loud explosion shattered the silence, sending people fleeing in all directions.

The remaining soldiers and police raised their weapons, opening fire on Abomination. The barrage of shots echoed in rapid succession, but the bullets didn't harm the beast.

The monster scratched his back, turned to face the shooters, and smirked malevolently. With a single leap, he rose into the air, his massive figure blocking the moon from the soldiers' view below.

As he descended, aiming to crush the soldiers like ants, they stood frozen in horror, beginning to pray.

"Knight's Strike!"

At the moment Abomination was ten meters from the ground, a dark shadow flew down from above, colliding forcefully with the monster. A figure in metallic armor struck the beast like a bullet, hurling it back onto the road. The monster skidded across the asphalt, carving a deep trench.

A military vehicle on-site was broadcasting the event to General Ross and his team in the helicopter.

"What's happening down there?!" Ross yelled, watching as a Hulk-like figure was thrown back.

Betty and Bruce leaned in and saw who had stopped the Hulk. They recognized him immediately.

"The Storm Swordsman! It's him!"

Ross squinted, and sure enough, he saw the famous superhero.

At the scene, Abomination propped himself up from the trench, shaking his head to clear the dizziness from the impact. He looked ahead at the figure who had struck him. Black high-tech armor, a Y-shaped mask with orange light, and white hair flowing behind the helmet.

Yes, there was long hair. On the rooftop, Noah caught sight of his reflection in a window and decided that the bald look wasn't quite right. So, using nanomachines, he created a flowing mane. In the future, he might grow it out for real.

The monster shook off the dust and took a few steps forward, his massive form dominating the street as cars scattered, crashing into walls and lampposts.

"I know you; you're a coward, just like Iron Man, hiding behind your armor," sneered Abomination, stopping about ten meters from Noah, mocking him.

"Oh, is that so? Then when I bring you down, I hope you'll still have the guts to keep talking." Noah beckoned to the monster with a hand, making a taunting gesture. He decided not to draw his sword just yet, planning to test his strength first.
