Anastasia collapse as Steel brought her back to the hotel. Zade already knew the situation he was dealing is something bad and big.
Anastasia was one of his assets and now he lost her like that. If they can't find the antidote it would be a huge disadvantage on the empire.
"Babe." Wendy called as she looked concerned about Anastasia's well being. "What should I do Babe?" Zade asked as he took was confused.
Aaron reported that Steel and Anastasia went for a walk after the three of them arrived in the hotel then suddenly Anastasia runaway and called for a car.
She thought that Mary was abducted but she wasn't since she was with Aaron the whole time.
Target and Jayden were asked to meet Zade as they all gathered in one room. The twins are in their specific rooms as Zade made the meeting fast and accurate.
"It's time to go back home, The antidote here in Hawaii has already been taken away. Let's go back." Zade started as it would be a lot more dangerous for them to stay in abroad and leave the empire hanging.
"Jayden your nose." Target said as Jayden looked at the mirror and immediately wipe the blood off but he starts coughing blood.
"Jayden! What did you eat? We're you poisoned?!" Wendy asked out of concern as she looked horrified as seeing blood on his mouth.
'There's something off about this trip....' Aaron thought as Mary looked worried about Jayden.
"There was this perfume that smells like mixed chemical. I think ..." Jayden didn't finish his sentence as he collapse.
Target immediately run outside to check on the twins yet they were both not in their rooms.
"You seemed in a rush Target?" Zachary asked as Target looked worried.
"Where is Zackeeyah?!" She asked as Zackeeyah appeared on Zachary's back. "What is it Target? Why do you look horrified? We didn't go that far we just-" Target didn't let Zachary finished. "We need to go back now to the Empire. Jayden is poisoned the enemy is in the hotel. Anastasia was also unwell." Target explained as Zackeeyah run towards her parents room and saw Aaron helping Jayden out.
"What happened?!" She asked hurriedly as Wendy looked at her sadly. "The heir must go back in the Empire, Target will take you back for safety." Wendy said as Zade nodded.
"What are you talking about Mom?! We cannot just leave you here!" Zackeeyah said as Zachary stopped her.
"We should follow orders for now Zackeeyah, Mom and Dad are already having a hard time figuring out this mess. They cannot afford to look after us too." Zachary said as he knew that his father Zade will not listen to any of her tantrums anymore.
"But Jayden..." Zackeeyah said as Mary come to her aid. "Aaron wanted me to go home too, Let's all go back together." Mary said as she knew that this is a big problem for the Reyes to solve.
"Are you really okay with this Aunt Mary?" Zackeeyah asked as Mary's hands were trembling in her shoulders.
'Of course it isn't, Yet this is not something that we should talk more about here.' Mary thought as she knew that they are all in great trouble.
In fact one of the reason why they are going home is that they need to ask Zel to help Zade and his subordinate in Hawaii.
Zackeeyah, Zachary, Mary and Target immediately book a flight back to Japan as Zel was informed by Aaron that they are going back. Everyone is waiting for them at the airport.
The most dangerous thing in the Mafia business is not knowing your enemy and this time it is a threat on Zade and everyone else in the Reyes.
Zel looked worried about it as he cannot hide the fact that he's concern about his son's well being.
"Wendy should go home too." Zel said in the call as he thinks that it's more safer if Wendy went back with them yet Wendy refuse to go home as she wants to stay with everyone.
"Just promise us that no matter what happens you'll take care of my Wife and the twins!" Aaron shouted on the phone as their call disconnected.
Zel knew that this is not something to be taken lightly. After all they didn't know who this person that is messing with the Reyes right now.
The sleek black SUV rolled to a halt at the airport terminal, its engine a low purr as Zel sat in the driver's seat, his eyes scanning the crowd pouring out of the arrivals gate. Beside him, Rodney leaned casually against the car door, his posture relaxed but his eyes sharp, flicking between every face in the throng. They were waiting, but there was tension hanging in the air like a storm about to break.
"Target just texted," Rodney muttered, his tone even. "They're coming out now. Maria Marie and the twins are with her."
Zel gave a curt nod, gripping the steering wheel a little tighter. His mind wasn't on the usual pleasantries of a family pickup. No, something bigger loomed in the background, a shadow that none of them had fully named yet.
Zade had mentioned there was trouble trouble that had the potential to engulf the Reyes family if they weren't careful and if Zade couldn't figure it out soon, the consequences would be... unforgiving.
A flash of bright red hair caught Rodney's eye first. "There they are," he said, his voice carrying a subtle edge of relief.
Target emerged from the crowd, her expression guarded but composed as she carried a small bag in one hand. Mary walked just behind her, his stance protective, scanning the area as if expecting trouble to leap from the shadows. The twins, Zackeeyah and Zachary, trailed close, their hands clutching each other tightly. The usual mischievous glint in their eyes was gone, replaced by something more solemn.
Zel stepped out of the SUV and strode toward them. His sharp eyes swept over the group, noting the tension in Target's shoulders and the wariness in Mary's every step. He didn't need to ask what had happened he already knew enough. The details weren't necessary right now. What mattered was getting them out of here safely.
"Everything okay?" Zel asked, his voice calm but firm.
Mary hesitated, glancing at Target, who gave her a small nod. "We're fine," she said, her tone clipped. But the tightness in her voice gave her away.
Zel didn't press. He knew better. Mary would talk when she was ready, and forcing the issue now wouldn't help anyone. Instead, he gestured toward the SUV.
"Let's get you all home first," he said simply.
As they loaded into the car, Rodney leaned back in his seat and cast a glance at Zel. "You feel it, don't you?" he murmured, low enough that only Zel could hear.
Zel didn't answer immediately. His eyes flicked to the rearview mirror, where the twins sat in silence, their usually lively chatter replaced by a heavy stillness. "Yeah," he finally said, his voice hard. "I feel it."
As the SUV pulled away from the terminal, the weight of unspoken words and unseen threats settled over them all. Trouble was coming, and Zel knew they were running out of time to find the source.
For now, though, he drove, the city lights stretching ahead of them like a path to something inevitable.
In the Reyes Empire the twins room was quiet, lit only by the faint glow of a lamp in the corner. Zackeeyah sat cross-legged on the bed, her hands resting on her knees, while Zachary leaned against the wall, arms folded. Their expressions were calm, too calm.
"They're not coming back, are they?" Zackeeyah asked, her voice devoid of emotion.
Zachary looked at her, his jaw tightening. "I don't know," he said simply. "But we can't afford to think like that."
Zackeeyah nodded slowly, her gaze dropping to her hands. "It's just… the way Dad looked at us earlier. He knows something we don't and Mom she's trying to act normal, but she's scared. I can see it."
"I saw it too," Zachary admitted, his voice low. "But that doesn't change anything. We've been trained for this. They made sure we could handle whatever happens. We don't get to be scared, Zackeeyah."
"I'm not scared," she replied sharply, looking up at him. Her eyes were steady, her tone firm. "I'm just… prepared."
Zachary pushed off the wall and moved to sit beside her on the bed. "Good," he said. "Because that's all we can be right now, prepared. If they don't come back, we step up. No crying. No breaking down. Just action."
Zackeeyah tilted her head, studying him. "Do you think they're testing us?"
"Maybe," Zachary said, shrugging. "Or maybe they're really in danger. Either way, it doesn't matter. What matters is what we do next."
Zackeeyah smirked faintly, though there was no humor in it. "You sound like Dad."
"Good," Zachary said, his voice hard. "That's the point."
They sat in silence for a moment, the weight of unspoken fears pressing between them. Finally, Zackeeyah broke it.
"If it happens, if they don't make it..... what's the first thing we do?"
Zachary didn't hesitate. "Secure the house. Check for any leaks in the network. And make sure the rest of the family knows we're in charge now."
"And after that?"
"We find out who's responsible," Zachary said, his voice cold. "And we make them pay."
Zackeeyah nodded, her expression hardening. "No hesitation. No mercy."
"None," Zachary agreed.
They shared a look, an understanding that went deeper than words. This wasn't the life they had chosen, but it was the one they had been prepared for.
"We've got this," Zackeeyah said, her voice steady.
"We do," Zachary replied, his tone matching hers.
And with that, they settled into a silence that wasn't heavy with fear but brimming with quiet determination. Whatever came next, they were ready as the Reyes Heir as they will be the next in line to make a move.
